Dark in the Day

It was noon that one Friday. Owen luckily found the Internet and had his neck sour for it. He didn't voice fortunately and it was the first time he was feeling good in such a situation he was in. Mae seemed to have a regret that came recently, but something seemed to hold her to not deliver him to Mr. Scam, but something was holding her. "Hey, kid. Why are you messing up the floor?" she barked. Owen got up briskly, jumped from the sudden question. "I was almost to level 180!" he shouted, disappointedly.

"Well, if you don't clean this mess you did with those Cheetos, I'll do a '180' kick on you!" Mae shouted, making use of Owen's level in his game.

And yes, there were many crushed pieces on the nice carpet of the base. "Sorry." Mae rolled her eyes and breathed a heavy breath. After Owen cleaned up the mess, he went back to his game. Mae just looked at a piece of paper that said "45 Heoted no 54 Seot." She stuffed it into her pocket randomly, but also secretly. "Hey, where do you get most jawbreakers from?" Owen asked as he turned off his phone and sat up.

Mae got up from her seat ignoring that simple question. "Look I gotta go, don't mess up anything, capiche?" Owen rolled his eyes anonymously. Mae walked away and closed the door. And, he continued to focus on his game.

It was a peculiar place that Mae was in for sure. She was around a desert and waited for something. Most people would think she was crazy but the ground opened up and she entered in. Two doors unbarred as she walked through. "Well, hallo mein freund," he, in this case—Mr. Scam, said with a sly look. He had a black suit with a black trilby hat—and he also had a light grey striped vest with a red tie.

Mae knew he had a very important mission.

"So—you called me?" she asked very strictly. Mr. Scam rubbed his chin. "Yes...and I need everyone else here, too." Soon, many people began arriving into the room. He smiled spaciously. "Well, you guys know the drill. Plan, choose team captain, and move."

Mae was sure of these words, he even said this on their first mission. "Now, this mission is to kill two people and sneak into a bank." Behind him was a big screen with no stand but most likely projected. He swiped and it showed two familiar targets. "Omelia Davis and her nephew are wanted killed. But, we are not going to put their blood on our hands. We will kill our used-to-be teammate, but blame it in Owen's hands."

"But why blame the kid? That'll be a hoax to the police. Might as well, kill the kid—besides he's the one to many kill," someone said. Mr. Scam rubbed his head. "Mane, first of all—there is something called evidence. I have an object the boy touched. We will trace that evidence onto the objects that aren't blown up.

"If they see the evidence, they will believe he is a boy. And, London is very close with SEOT representatives. So, the worst thing that could happen, is death." Everyone clapped at the clever idea. And it was in fact, clever. Mane nodded with a dumbfounded smile. "So, who's Team Captain?" Casey asked. Mr. Scam walked towards Mae very slowly. "Her. She got the guts to do it, and the smarts," he said. Mae started silently sweating. She was hiding Owen at her house—so how would she do it?

Bah, nevermind, she thought. She knew he was annoying anyways. "Thank you, sir," she said with a smile.

Doxin:

The train ride began to move, and that would've been a problem of how long they waited. But, it wasn't a bombing, which meant Colonel Strong's theory was wrong. Det. Doxin searched for Edward Mane, not knowing he was somewhere else already. After he searched, he returned back to Det. Jacques. "As-tu trouvé quelque chose?" Det. Jacques asked. "It seems that Mane left too," Doxin admitted disappointedly.

A woman with the exact same blonde hair as Miss Sheard walked by them. The detectives looked at her very suspiciously. In a fast motion, they followed her as unjaundiced as can be. That hair color seemed to make them suspicious now.

The woman turned around and was much younger than Miss Sheard based on her innocent looks. "Is there anything you need?" Det. Doxin began to turn his head since he was filled with embarrassment. "Well, we thought you were someone else actually," Doxin explained with a flustered gulp. "Yeah...have you seen Victor Bourneti Denbinarth?" she asked. Jacques looked at Doxin slowly with his eyeballs.

"Yes, you might meet him in his room," Det. Jacques said. The woman nodded. "And have you seen Det. James Harbor Doxin and Jacques Banner?" The detectives raised their hands, that's us. The woman raised her eyebrows in relief. "Riley Jini Denbinarth." Doxin nodded, you'll be needed a lot.

"My husband told me all the questions he asked you. He was being very honest," Mrs. Denbinarth said. "We know, are you particular with the Davis' family though?"

"I'm familiar with the whole family. Owen was a sweet boy and I could tell he loved Disneyland. But then, a wildfire happened, well I thought a wildfire happened."

"You thought?"

"Yeah, it was actually a bomb from very far away. The explosion was so big, fire traveled all the way to where we were at."

Doxin scratched his head. "It was most definitely the SEOT," he said quietly. "Why would they do that?" "Well whoever did that was probably going for a particular person but didn't want to seem that way, So, they pretended to make a wildfire."

Jacques nodded. "You might be good for a detective yourself." Mrs. Denbinarth smiled. "Well, meet you guys later." As she walked away, her shoes briskly went clip-clop several times. "Well, she got très bon style," Jacques said, with a flirty smile. "Don't—even," Doxin ordered, shielding his eyes. Jacques was a man of class, so he'll always have a gray to a blue suit.

"SEOT has done many criminal acts, we must put them to justice, definitely. We technically have all the information, it's just we haven't found where the father is."

The french detective pushed Doxin's hand vexedly. "Well, he must be trapped in their HQ, but they won't be easy to find though."

Doxin scoffed. "You got that right." But they were quite proud of the progress they made.

"What do you think Mrs. Denbinarth is saying to her husband? It would possi—"

"Don't even."

Owen(Mae):

It was like once again when she saw all the vans and motorcycles behind her. She held an assault rifle and sat at the back.

"We're here, stop."

The van stopped and they went out. Many rifles clicked ready to dart at the target they were gonna face.

"You three," Mae ordered the three men beside her. "Over to the back." They took heed to her orders and went to the back.

"You two, up the building," she ordered to the ones behind her. She ordered the four rest to follow her to the front. As they went into the apartment, everyone screamed.

"Don't you dare make a sound!" a soldier shouted. Soon enough, many officers charged at them.

The sound of the bullets flying in the room.

The flying dead officers that flew through the room.

Mae kicked an officer that flew and crashed into an ATM. She fired her rifle and an officer reacted with a bloody nose as she used her other leg to kick.

She fought, soldiers shot, people fell and Mane was shot. "Mane!" she shouted. She pushed through all the people and encountered Mane.

"Mane, are you okay."

Mane coughed out blood by the side of his mouth.

"I'll be fine, ok. It's just."

He cried in instant pain. "Go, continue the mission."

Mae panted out of breath in horror and worry. But she had to continue the mission. There continued to be fighting along the way, and soldiers dying. It was a mess on the first floor.

The leftover soldiers went up with Mae. "Move!" they said multiple times. It was as if you were watching an action movie. The stairs were very long, more like climbing the Wall of China. But, they were loaded with energy, although Mae was out of breath. They finally went to the 145th floor.

"Okay, we need a ladder," she said. Casey seemed to notice something, since he was looking at the right side of the wall. "Here, there's a ladder," he said. He raised his rifle and hit the wall very vigorously.

The wall didn't budge unfortunately. But, there was something about them that surprises people to this day. Casey threw a C4 at the wall and it blew with an undeniable boom! And yes, there stood a ladder from the top.

Owen turned off the TV that was playing Night at the Museum. He thought it was quite funny, actually so was it actually his new favorite. But, something that caught his eye was a sight of deep black gas or some smoke. He turned on the screen and it showed a blown-out apartment with heavy smoke around it. He stammered in horror—not because of the apartment but someone in there.

Auntie Omelia.

"No!"

He got out of the house and ran towards the apartment.

His tears flooded his eyes as he ran. "Please...please," he said under his breath as he ran towards it. But then, the place blew up and a white light forced him to the ground.
