Chapter 8

Jungkook followed her immediately. He was not going to be like this anymore. She was near the waves when Jungkook stopped her and held her hand. Sandra tried her best to free her hand. But she could not.

 Jungkook held her arm tight.

'Talk to me Sandra, I can't anymore....', he yelled painfully. He was on the verge of crying like Sandra.

'Leave', she said coldly looking at where his grip was. The splashed at their feet. They were cold.

'No. I won't. You are mine. Don't try to run away. This can't go on. No.' his voice was stern as well.

'Where were you all these years? I am not yours. I am no one's. I don't.. I don't love .. you anymore', she yelled. Jungkook knew she was lying very well. She had hesitated while saying the last words.

Jungkook's grip tightened even more, 'What did you say?' he asked sternly.

'Yes. You heard me right. I knew you could never do such a thing. I was just too shocked that day. But why didn't you contact me? huh? Whyy? You know how many times I tried calling you... You had changed your number. I found out your address wasn't the same anymore, you had left the country. And at one point I though you were busy with your father's company and forgotten me. I decide.. I gave up', she complained loudly as though she wanted the whole beach to hear her.

Before she could say anything, Jungkook smashed his lips on hers. He let go of her arm and held her face with both of his hands.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she felt his touch once again; her dry, chapped lips against his somewhat soft and warm ones.

Jungkook felt her tears touch his chin. He let go and rubbed her eyes and simply held her like that.

'My parents left the country. I did not. Yes I changed my number but I did try to contact you. Your phone would be switched off. And every time I called the landline, someone would pick up and make up several excuses. And I wasn't busy handling any company of my father's, I was setting up the airfield in the countryside', he said looking at her face which was drenched in her tears by then.

Sandra's eyes widened and she gave him a questioning look. Jungkook exhaled and nodded lightly while blinking slowly once as if to show that whatever she was thinking was right.

'Yes. Airfield. That airfield which you wanted to buy. It's now ours..', she said.

Sandra hugged him tightly and cried even more; as if there were no worries or insecurities to care for no matter how much she cried. Jungkook hugged her back with one hand around her waist and the other on the back of her hair. He rested his chin on her head and for the first time in three years, he let out his disappointments and insecurity. He closed his eyes and cried.

'You know I also thought for once that you had moved on from me. I was scared, very scared', he said in a cracked voice, 'I am sorry.'

Jimin was watching this from the second floor's balcony. He smiled sadly and was somehow feeling empty. Suddenly someone held his right hand. It was a tight but soft grip. He turned his head and looked to his right.

He smiled at her. Libetha smiled back at him and rested her head on his right shoulder. Jimin caressed some hair strings away from her face as they stared at the twinkling stars.

  'I love you', Jungkook said.

'Hey I was gonna say that first', Sandra said, pouting, still not letting go of the hug, 'I love you too.'

Jungkook laughed slowly. They finally let go.

'There are still two untouched plates of lasagna in there. Can we umm.. I am hungry', he said like a kid showing his legendary bunny smile.

She laughed and nodded. Man how much she had missed that smile.

They held hands tightly as they went it. Their tears were long dried.
