"Yes we do as a matter of fact. What the hell was that about man? I thought we were cool?" I asked him, plopping down in the noisy wooden chair.
He chuckled lightly while still looking down, grading a few paper's, "Need I remind you that you're the one who interrupted my speaking time."
I snorted, "Aaand need I remind YOU, that you're still the same old grumpy crab," I tell him waaay to sarcastically.
He chuckles lightly and stopped what he was doing. Then leaned back in the chair while staring at me in that same weird way again.
"So, how have you been lately Amy?" He asked.
I raised a brow at him, grinding my teeth together. Is he joking right now or? I mean he greets me all nice and shit. Then becomes an asshole and gives me detention for a week for eating candy! And NOW, now he wants to talk and see how I'm doing?
Men are stressful as fuck...
"I've been good," I tell him honestly, "but I probably would've been better. You know... if my last teacher wasn't such an asshole towards me."
Aaand I'm expelled... Why are these words just flying out of my mouth?!
The smile on his face grows, "You've still got that nice little sense of humor I've missed so much," he said with a small laugh.
What's wrong with him? I mean.. is he feeling ok? I just don't remember him being this... strange acting.
"Ok look Trent," I start, leaning up to place my elbow on the desk, "I was actually going to come after class anyways, to get the assignments that I've missed out on. So... can I please have my assignments?"
"You look good Amy, I've missed you," he says, looking at me in that same weird way again. It reminded me of the way Chris looks at me.
What? No! No, that can't be right.
Delusional is the word I'm looking for, and that's what I am. Right now. Come on girl! He's my old friend, I can't be thinking like this. I've only seen him for like what?..... An hour or so?
I can't just be jumping to conclusions, especially with my wild imaginations! Cause then that'll mean overthinking about it, and then unintentionally start to act weird around him. And then BOOM! Friendship ended.
I know nothing about him anymore, so I'm sure they're some things that have changed about him. Of course there is, he grew up.
I give him a small smile, "Yeah, I've missed you to... but about those assignments."
He stands to his feet suddenly, and walks around the desk only to stand in front of me. Umm. What the hell?
"So you're dating Chris now uh?" He asked, crossing his arms and ignoring what I just said.
A wave of chills drapped over me, I was starting to feel uncomfortable with his stare and odd behaviour. This wasn't the same kid that I grew up with, THAT'S for damn sure.
I leaned back in my seat and looked at him in disbelief, "I'm sorry to sound rude Trent, because we're old friends. But I don't think that's none of your business."
He smirks, "Telling someone to mind their own business is not being rude Amy, it's setting boundaries. Which I've already crossed apparently. I'm sorry if my question made you feel uncomfortable, and I would also like to apologize for giving you detention for a week. You don't have detention, you're free to go whenever you feel like. I just thought it would be nice to catch up with you. I just... I haven't seen you in a while and it's nice to see an old friendly face. And to hear that you're doing good. I'm sorry Amy, I'll strictly keep it professional between us from now on."
Aaand I'm a bitch.
What is wrong with me? He was my best friend in Florida, we use to talk about everything! From boy's to girl's, from future plans to our pasts. And now I'm being a complete bitch to him just because he wants to know what's been going on in my life?
He walks back around the desk to sit down in the chair, flipping through some papers and only picking out certain ones. After gathering a handful of them he hands them to me.
"If you have any questions please, feel free to come and ask me," was all he said, before going back and grading papers.
My heart drops a little, damn Amy. It wouldn't hurt to get to know your old pal again. Don't be a dick.
I bit my lip while looking down at the papers in my hands, "I'm sorry Trent, it's just, it's weird seeing you like this! You have to know that this is weird. I grew up with you, and now look! You're my teacher, MY teacher!"
He smiles before looking back up at me, "You don't think this isn't weird for me also? I mean come on Amy, you're practically still a baby compared to me now."
I let out a small sound of shock, before waddling up a blank piece of paper and throwing it at him. Making it bounce off his broad chest and then land down on his lap.
He chuckles and picked up the piece of paper, only to drop it back down on the desk. He looks up at me with a handsome smile, a smile that reminded me of someone else's.
"I really did miss you though," he said again, this time more quietly.
I smiled and nod my head, looking down at my hands, "I gotta tell ya, I about shit bricks when I saw that it was you here. You were definitely the last person who I thought I'd see today."
"But are you glad to see me?" He asked, eyes sparkling with hope.
My brows creases together and I laugh awkwardly, "You still say weirdest things though. But yes, I'm glad."
His blue eyes shined bright and the smile grew on his face, seeming like he's very pleased with my answer.
"Good, now let me teach you a thing or two about acting," he said with a charming smile.
"Why? Are you a professional by now?" I teased.
He laughed, like it was an inside joke to him or something, "Ooh you have no idea."
**1 Hour Later**
"I'll see you Monday Amy, and like I said, it was great to see you again," Trenton says as we're leaving the classroom.
"Yeah, it was great to se- oooh!" I was caught by surprise when he suddenly pulls me into a tight hug.
He moves his nose into the crease of my neck and inhales softly. Ok I know I'm not imagining this!
I awkwardly pushed him off of me and held his arms down by his side, "I'll see you Monday Mr.Ryder."
I walked out of the classroom and headed out of the school, heading towards the parking lot. I seen Bryce standing next to his car, talking on the phone with someone as his back was facing me.
"Ooh come on now! Have a little faith in me! I'll make sure she's there... Yes Alpha," he says, hanging up the phone and turning to me with a smile on his face.
"Chris?" I asked with a smile.
He blows out hot breath and smiles, "You have no idea how whiney he get's from being away from you."
I smiled, "So Chris stuck you with babysitting me?"
Bryce smiles and swung the car door open for me, then does a little goofy bow, "Why yes ma'am he did. Right this way my Luna, your chariot awaits."
I laughed before rolling my eyes at this guy. When we're on the road he started talking.
"Chris mentioned earlier that you kinda grew up with our new substitute teacher. Is that true?" He asked kindly, keeping his focus on the road.
"How did h-" I paused before a light bulb went off in my head, "mindlinkin. Ugh, how annoying is that!"
He chuckled and nods in agreement, "You're telling me, try having about 20 different people in your head yelling at once."
I laughed, "I guess I didn't consider how more annoying it would be to actually be able to mindlinkin."
"And you think you have it hard as a human, Pff!" He teases with a playful roll of the eyes.
I laughed again, "Ok for one, I never said that. And two, this human would like to know how you and Chris know Mr.Ryder?"
His smiling face fell and he shifted in his seat, "I'm not sure if I'm the right person to tell you."
"And I'm not sure if I'm the right person to tell Sky about you guy's being a werewolf, now am I?" I asked him with a gentle smile.
His face drops in pure shock, but then quickly laughs, "Ooh really? We're gonna playing it like that now uh?"
I just shrugged my shoulder and gave him a 'what do you expect' look, "I'm just curious to know why Chris was so upset when he seen him. And you weren't exactly sending friendly vibes his way either. So come on, tell me. What's the dilly'o between them two?"
He sighs heavily in defeat, keeping his focus on the road as he spoke, "Christians father, his mate was also a human. They dated for a few months back in highschool, but people always said that she was a bitch all the time. Only wanted to be with him for his money. Now whether or not that's true is unknown."
"Well do you think it's true?" I asked him.
He shrugs his shoulders, "Hard to say, I mean in one hand that's his mate. I know she felt some type of love for him."
"But?" I pressed on.
"But," he sighs heavily again, "on the other hand, she did steal billions of dollars from us. Then ran off with it. Christians dad was devastated, and that also plays along with how he met Christians mom and she managed to slither her way into becoming the Luna of our pack."
"Do you not like Christians mom either?" I asked him.
He smirks, "Well she hasn't stolen a bunch of money from our pack as far as I'm aware of. But she's not the... nicest person I've come across I'll say that."
"You're telling me," I mumbled to myself, but it makes him laugh.
"Oh trust me, she's like that to everyone," he says with another laugh.
"Ooh.... Wait.. what does this have to do with Chris hating Trenton?"
"That woman who stole from us, that's Trentons mom," he spoke slowly, turning the wheel on the car.
Slowly my mind started to fill in the pieces, and my starts to fall open, "Wait does that mean they're brothers?! What!?"
He laughs and nodded yes, "Yeah I know. But most of the people don't even know about Trenton. Christians dad liked to keep that topic hush hush you know. When Trentons mom left, she left him also. And being the Alpha, didn't really give him much time to raise a child by himself. And since he didn't want anyone else to know about Trenton, he made him live with his grandparents."
Ooh no... Trentons never mentioned this.
"Yeah I felt bad for him," he told honestly, seeing the look on my face.
My brows creased together and I looked down at my hands, playing with my fingers, "But then, why is Chris not very fond of him? I mean they're brothers, shouldn't they be close to one another?"
Bryce laughs, "Chris used to be an asshole Amy."
I looked at him in disbelief and laughed, I know it wasn't funny. It's just, I didn't expect him to be so blunt about it.
He smiles at me, "Yeah I know, it's hard to imagine him that way now. But he wasn't always that nice guy that he is now, he's changed. I used to not care for Chris the way I do now, in fact, I straight up disliked him."
I raised a brow at him, "Really? Well then, how did you end up being his beta AND best friend?"
Bryces face fell even more and he shifted in his seat again, "I had a much younger sister named Rose, she was the sweetest little girl. But one summer after Chris came back and started his usual cocky Alpha shit, I just kept my distance. I didn't want nothing to do with him. Then one day Rose was playing with some other kids out in the woods of our pack lands, but rogues ended up attacking them.... Me and Chris were the only one's that were close by... we fought as many of them as we could, until even more of them started plowing through."
I see his grip tighten around the steering wheel and his jaw flexes, "There was too many of them and by the time the other pack members got there, it was too late. One of the rogues ended up killing her," he says, keeping a hard glare focused on the road.
"I'm so sorry Bryce," I say softly.
He gives me a soft short smile, "After she died, Chris started to hang around me more often. At first I thought he just felt sorry for me and wanted to just show everyone in the pack, that he could be sensitive towards them. I thought he was just using me to gain trust from our pack members. I got angry at him and told him that he was just a stuck up little brat, who didn't know the difference between his head from his asshole."
My eyes widened and my mouth hung down a little, "Then what happened?"
"We ended up getting into a fist fight with each other," he says casually, smirking while turning the wheel again.
"Woah, this is alot to take in," I say softly.
He smiles and laughs a little, "Christian may have been an asshole back then, but now he's changed since that incident happened. And since he's met you. Why, this is the happiest I've ever really seen him."
I looked down at my hands and fiddled with them for a moment. Trenton and Christian are half brothers... damn.
Trenton never mentioned that he even had brothers and a sister. All he said was that his parents died in a car accident and now he lived with his grandparents.
I guess there's a lot of things that he forgot to mention, and I thought we use to tell each other everything. I guess not..
"But then wh-"
"Nuh-uh, I've already told you waaay too much," he cuts me, "If you wanna find out why they can't stand each other, then you ask him."
I pout and he laughs.
Great... I sigh and turned to look out of the window. Not being able to think about anything else but the two brothers and why they would hate each other? Ugh! This is all just so... weird!
