Ninety-One

"Any thoughts?" asked Dennis that night when their children were asleep. He and Aura were lying on the bed in their room which was dim in the light of the night light.

Aura shook her head slowly.

"Good night, Den," she whispered, then turned her back to Dennis.

Aura was not in a chatty mood. Her mind was still filled with images of Justin and her love statements. It's not that Aura betrayed Dennis's love, but part of that sense of the past disturbed her current peace.

Dennis pressed his body against Aura and gently stroked his wife's arm. Not long after, Dennis's lips touched Aura's shoulder.

Aura also sighed softly, she moved her body slightly away, a sign of refusal. Tonight she didn't want a passionate caress.

"Den ..., I'm tired." Said Aura, she reasoned as she brushed Dennis's hand lightly.

Receiving Aura's rejection, Dennis's heartfelt even more uneasy.

"What's wrong, Ra?" asked Dennis, sighing impatiently.
