The enormous dragon sniffed me a couple of times. I think some Dragonoid children were backing away from us because of him.
"I asked who you are."
He repeated it in a demanding voice. I gulped.
[Warning...]
[Warning...]
This voice, it was my system. It didn't have Tiamat's voice, but it was of a woman's. I think my system can tell me if danger is approaching or not. That's useful, but maybe next time warn me earlier. This dragon is already in my face.
"I-I-I'm Lucian."
I stuttered, but I managed to say my name. I was actually tearing up. A slight droplet fell down my cheek.
The dragon sniffed me once again.
"I smell traces of my brother from you, what is your association with my brother?"
Brother? Does he mean Ddraig? Is this dragon Ddraig's brother?
Question is, is he the older brother or the younger brother?
"Uncle, you're scaring him!"
Mizuki stood in front of me and faced the white dragon.
Uncle? Well, that definitely confirms Ddraig is this guy's brother.
"Mizuki? G-get out of the way. What if he's dangerous?"
The dragon said in a worried tone.
ME?! DANGEROUS?! HOW CAN I BE DANGEROUS?!
I'm only 4 years old and this girl is taller and older than me.
Well, good thing Mizuki stepped in. His soft spot must be his niece.
Thank you, Mizuki, for being my shield.
"Grrrrrrr..."
Oh no, he's growling now. He must be pissed!
"You dare use my niece as a bargaining chip?!"
Bargain chip? What am I bargaining with here? What kind of accusations is this guy spitting?
"Hey. What the hell is going on here?"
Said a figure in the sky. It was Ddraig.
The white dragon lifted his head away from me and looked at Ddraig.
"You're back already, Ddraig."
"Problem?"
Ddraig landed beside me.
"D-D-Ddraig, you saved me, thank you."
I wiped the tears coming down from my cheeks. I was scared, terrified. If he didn't come in time, this guy would've kicked my ass.
"Sorry about that Lucian, this is my younger twin brother Divinus, the angelic dragon."
"Twins? Angelic dragon?"
Divinus stood proudly, then some of his scales turned into feathers.
Flutter!
A second set of wings protruded out from his back, these were not wings of a dragon but the wings of an angel.
"Whoa... wait, angelic?"
"Born with the blessing of the gods and mended with feathers of an angel, therefore the angelic dragon."
Amazing, mended with feathers of an angel and blessed by the gods. That's like the opposite of Ddraig.
"Divinus, can you not treat my daughter like she's yours?"
"B-but Ddraig."
"Get into human form already, you're 'gracious' aura is spooking everyone here."
"Fine."
Divinus' entire body began to glow, then he shrank down almost to the point that he matched Ddraig's height. When the light cleared up, he was the spitting image of Ddraig, except with white hair and icy-blue eyes.
"This is Michael's boy, you should show a little respect."
"M-Michael's son?"
Divinus inspected me from top to bottom.
"Well, he looks a little like him. What is he doing here? He's not even a Dragonoid."
"Divinus, let's have a talk."
Ddraig said with a smirk. He threw his shoulder around Divinus and began walking away.
"Wait, Ddraig!"
"Hmm? yes?"
"Can you make this hole a little bigger?"
I said, pointing to the hole in the wall.
"You can't do it yourself? Pitiful Lucian, pitiful."
"HEY! I HAVEN'T EVEN LEARNED A SINGLE THING YET!"
"Mmm, fine."
Ddraig pointed his hand at the hole.
Crack!
Small rocks crumbled, and the hole in the wall slowly grew bigger. Next thing you know, it looks just like a room, except with no door. I might have to make my own for that.
Then Ddraig walked off with Divinus.
Hmm... I guess I can put my stuff in the hole now.
I walked over to my luggage and tugged on it.
...
Oh yeah, I forgot that I'm still not strong enough to lift it. My 20 strength stat is useless.
Lift.
"Huh?"
It was Mizuki. She picked up my luggage for me and placed it in the hole... well, it's kind of like a den now.
"There you go."
"Thanks."
Sigh...
Can't believe a girl is stronger than me. I think I lost my pride as a man.
***
I collected plenty of leaves and sticks from the nearby forest and placed them in front of my den. If I was going to make a suitable shelter, I was gonna need a sheet to cover the entrance, so that I won't be exposed to the outside. All that boy scouting in my past life really pays off.
Hmm, now I need something sharp to cut the long sticks I collected.
Or I can just snap them in half, 20 strength points should be enough to break a stick, right?
I picked a stick up and tried bending it.
"Hyah!"
...
Well, this stick didn't budge, all it did was bend.
This time, I tried using one of my feet.
"Hmm!!!"
...
Again, not even the slightest crack.
I dropped down on my knees.
Am I that weak? 20 strength isn't enough. Also, why is this stick not breaking?! It was bending like way past the 360 angles.
"Lucy, what are you doing?"
Mizuki walked up to me with a puzzled expression.
"It's Lucian! Anyway, I can't break this stick."
I handed the stick to Mizuki. She took it and inspected it. Then a few seconds later she began laughing.
"Hmm? Why are you laughing?"
Mizuki looked at me and patted my head.
"This is supple timber. You can't split it apart with brute strength, you need to at least use a sword for this."
"Oh..."
Well, that's glad to know.
I looked at the pile of sticks I collected. I think all the wood I collected was supple timber. I can't even wield my dad's sword yet because of my strength stat.
Wait a minute. If I could bend supple timber easily, I think I might be able to use my dad's sword!
"By the way, supple timber isn't great for building since it bends easily. Also, it's really light and it can easily be blown away."
Mizuki said abruptly.
I fell down on my knees again. W-why... why is this world so cruel. All my hard work for nothing. Shit, my 20 strength stat can't probably hold over 10 sticks.
"What's the problem, why is Lucian on the floor?"
Ddraig had come back with Divinus. Their `talk` took a while if you ask me.
"I want to build a sheet so I can cover my den up."
Ddraig looked at my `den`. He looked at all the sticks that were on the ground and giggled.
"You got supple timber?"
"I didn't know it was supple timber, also I don't know my plants."
Thing is, supple timber has the same color as oak wood. Spotting different sticks is difficult in this world.
"Hmm, that's going to be trouble. Are you able to identify animals and species?"
"...no..."
Ddraig shook his head and sighed. Divinus would start laughing his head off.
"What are you laughing at?"
"Heh heh, I never knew the chos-"
Then Ddraig smacked the back of Divinus' head.
"Ow! What the hell was that for Ddraig?!"
"Didn't I tell you it was a secret? Also, be respectful to him."
Divinus scoffed and rubbed the back of his head.
"You might need an encyclopedia. There are some at the library."
"Library? Where?"
This place has a library? That's sweet. Wait, how do dragons own a library if they can't fit in such a small room? Don't tell me they make massive books!
"In the town."
I looked towards the town and started dashing off, but I was instantly stopped by Ddraig.
"If I recall, you haven't gotten your identification ID yet, right?"
"Umm well..."
In this world, you need proper identification. Identification ID. Thing is, when we passed through the gates, they asked for my Identification ID. I didn't have one, and I thought I was going to get in trouble for it, but glad I had Ddraig step in for me. I feel like Ddraig has stepped in on every one of my problems so far.
Also, I didn't know this world was so organized.
"Do I need an ID to get books?"
"Yes, you do. So we're going into town together. We're going to register your identification first, then we'll get the books.
"Damn it."
"Papa, can I come too? You forgot to bring me to register an identification ID last year."
"Oh yeah, you can come too."
And so, Ddraig dragged me up the road while Mizuki was messing with my hair.
My small little den was getting farther and farther.
See you later, little den.

As Divinus watched Lucian get dragged up the road by Ddraig, one single thought went through his mind.
'The goddess Tiamat chose this youngling? I see nothing special in him.'
Divinus scoffed and jumped into the sky, turning into his dragon form. Then he flew off towards the mountain.
