Even though they were both very comfy in each other's embrace, Asher decided that it was better for them to go inside of his house as it was pretty cold outside, and they would be more comfortable in new clothes cuddled up in the sofa.
He didn't want to let go of Birdie though, so he just got out of the car with her in his arms. She didn't mind one bit as his arms were they comfiest place she had been for a very long time.
As she had her face buried in his neck she didn't see the house's facade, but she flipped when she saw how it was inside. They went in on a beautiful drawing room, which was parallel to a huge living room with really big sofas and fluffy blankets.
That's what she noticed as her mind was like on of a little kid after all she had been put through the day, but there was actually a TV above the stone fireplace. The windows were floor to top and led straight to the garden.
The garden was as big as the living room with lots of flowers on the sides and a big hanging seat in one of the trees of the little forest at the end of the property.
Asher led her straight upstairs only having in mind that he wanted to get her cleaned up and to bed. He was like an overprotective bear. As she saw what he was doing, Birdie tried protesting.
"I just saved your life, aren't you going to give me a tour of the house ?" she said. She was actually curious about his house since all she had seen was really cozy and it didn't match his personality.
Asher was still in overprotective mode, but still managed to be amused by her, as she was his only source of ultimate happiness.
"Alright, I'll do it, but can we at least change before please ?" he said with a voice of reason.
Birdie couldn't deny him that they were dirty and needed a change. They were covered in some of the blood that got to them when the assassins shot each other and on crystals from the broken windows. She nodded still buried in his neck and he led her upstairs again.
Asher led them to a room at the end of the hall and opened the door. The room was in all cream and black themed. It also had touches of wood and it was masculine while cozy at the same time.
He took her to the enormous bed that lied in the centre of the room parallel to the floor to ceiling windows that led to a massive balcony. Birdie couldn't see what was behind the windows as it was nighttime and outside it was dark.
The bed was soft she felt like she was in a pile of candy cotton and she closed her eyes immediately feeling all the weight of the world fall upon her shoulders after the awful day she had.
As she closed her eyes she didn't notice Asher going to the bathroom and turning the faucet on. He also searched through his closet and found an bikini from when his sister used to live with him.
Birdie barely heard him come back to her, but when he started to undress her she jumped straight up and opened her eyes so big she looked like a fish with her big eyes and red big cheeks.
"What are you doing Asher ?" she whispered to him turning more red by the moment. She was really shy about her body and she didn't like people seeing it as she was very conscious of it.
Asher found it so cute that she was so embarrassed in front of him, "What do you think I'm doing ? I'm undressing you so you can get in the bathtub" he said.
She was still flustered but answered anyways, "But I can do that, also I don't want to take a bath with you naked" she said as confidently as she could. Even though just thinking about it gave her chills, she wanted to wait and not rush into things as this was a very important step for her.
"Fine then, I left a bikini in the bathroom, go put it on and wait for me. I'll go put swim trunks on" he said. He was truly amused with her.
Birdie rushed to the bathroom and put the bikini on. As she was doing this she realised that Asher was a guy and he didn't need a bikini so why did he have one? She started going on about it in her head and just thinking about him with another girl made her sad. She had only met him, but she already felt like he was the one for her.
By the time Asher got there she was nearly in tears, and as soon as he saw her expression he ran to her side.
"What's wrong little bird ?" he asked worried about what might have happened to her. He was still shaken up by the attack. If it was just him then he wouldn't have cared. But she was with him and he was still afraid for her.
As she saw him Birdie couldn't take it anymore and the tears she had been holding back came rushing out of her eyes. She didn't know why she was so sensible about this. She wasn't usually like this. She would put up with everything and have a cold head while solving whichever issue. And now she was crying because of an imaginary scenario her mind played for her. She needed to calm down.
She took a few deep breaths and opened her eyes again.
"Have you had any other woman here ?" she asked, her voice only wavering a little.
Asher was surprised by how sudden this question was, but he soon understood when he saw the bikini. She had thought it was from another woman.
A sad smile showed on his face as he answered, "no little bird, that bikini was from my sister" he said very calmingly as if she would be broken if he spoke louder.
Birdie immediately turned red and turned round to bury her face in his chest so he wouldn't see her.
