Gracelyn watched as the Kingdom disappeared in the background and that she could see ahead of everything that has been repaired since Tessa is long gone from Evigon. Gracelyn knew at that point her life was in for a bigger change than what her parents could give her and that having Laila by her side means more than anything that no one else can see. Instinctively, Gracelyn reached over and grabbed Laila's hand.
"Gracelyn, let go of my hand. I am still in love with Lucy and I do not wish for us to be so close." Laila said as she released her hand.
"Fine, I was hoping to have comfort from someone whose supposed to be my Angel." Gracelyn snapped at Laila.
"Gracelyn for one I am too old for you though my body hasn't aged and two you don't need me, you just want my help to get away from your parents but you know nothing of the lands beyond that sea." Laila pointed out as they were reaching the docks.
"What I know is that you, Laila Kingston, will become mine and everyone will forget about us as it should be. My sister should have seen how gorgeous you were as an Angel and have been in love with you right then but as it stands, she married that maid's sister and here I am with you." Gracelyn smiled.
"I have already proposed to Lucy. I am not risking my engagement to be with a spoiled brat. You may be smarter than your sister but you still have a long way to go." Laila replied, rolling her eyes.
Gracelyn decided not to argue with Laila with how their life would work once outside of the village and away from their kingdom's. Gracelyn kept hold of Laila's hand then felt Laila start to pull away. Gracelyn knew she wouldn't be able to keep hold of Laila while she was still clung to Lucy back at the castle.
Within several hours they reached the docked ships and grabbed their luggage and found a place on the ship. Though the captain came into their quarters and stared at them both furiously.
"Who the hell are you two? And why are you in my cabin?" The captain yelled.
"I am Princess Gracelyn Hyland and this is my maid Laila Kingston. We board your ship to a new world." Gracelyn replied gracefully.
"New world? You two won't survive out here. Princess, you need to go back to the King and Queen this world isn't made for you." The captain responded gently.
Gracelyn did what her mother used to do to get her way and that was to seduce a guy into believing anything that she wanted. Every man or boy would fall at the Queen's knees for her to make a deal with them and give her the world. If she does decide to rule, she needs to make men beg and plead for her. Gracelyn touched the man's face then placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
"You will let us have this cabin in your ship." Gracelyn whispered seductively.
"Yes, I will P-Princess." Captain replied loudly.
"You don't want daddy finding out that you wouldn't let me on the ship." Gracelyn whispered again.
He shook his head no then took her head into his hands and Gracelyn wanted to buckle, her mind went into mush looking at him.
"You will stay in my cabin but she will have to go downstairs with my other mates." He whispered to Gracelyn that made her shiver.
"Gracelyn, STOP! Captain, let her go. This is wrong." Laila yelled loudly.
"My name is Korin and it is not wrong when she is of age." Korin replied with a grim smile.
"She isn't of age you fool, she is only seventeen. Now let her go and we will leave your ship." Laila responded with force.
"A princess with such beauty isn't of age but is running away from her Kingdom on my maiden voyage across the sea. I will see to it that she is in safe hands. As for you, you are to be with the mates and scrub the decks clean." Korin replied in force of his roaring voice.
"I am getting off this ship and so is Gracelyn. Now, let us go!" Laila screamed loudly.
"We have already left Evigon while you two were bunking in my room. Now, we have a long voyage and the men need help. So, go get your fancy ass on the top deck and scrub." Korin demanded.
Gracelyn watched Laila leave with fury as she felt her world spin. This isn't what she had planned at all and now she is kept with a grown man. Gracelyn went to follow Laila out the door but Korin had hold of her by the wrist.
"Where are you going?" Korin asked.
"Um, make sure Laila is okay." Gracelyn replied.
"She will be fine. I am sure the mates will enjoy showing her how the deck operates. I want to know more about you, Princess." Korin responded grinning with his imperfect teeth.
Gracelyn could feel her knees get weak beneath her knowing the fear of being with a grown man. She regrets leaving the castle and her kingdom can't save her from this shaking fear. For being a princess she had no idea what mess she got into or where they were heading on this voyage but she definitely wishes that she followed her parents orders instead.
"Don't worry, Princess. I am not out to torture you or your friend. I hope we can all be friends on this adventure." Korin said as he bit the inside of his cheek.
"Yeah, no, I only got on this ship so I can find where I belong instead of living at that castle and abiding my parents rules on marrying by eighteen." Gracelyn replied with sternness in her voice.
"That doesn't seem so bright for a child who has no idea what the world holds. Suit yourself, I am going back on deck to check on the mates. Get some sleep, it is a long trip." Korin responded as he weaved his way around Gracelyn.
Gracelyn didn't want to sleep though with never being on a boat, she had no idea, what the seas were going to be like and it has now scared her more.
