Chapter 16

Natalie couldn't believe her husband stood in the doorway that morning looking pissed as hell. This isn't what she expected when she came to Texas and now this asshole has followed her, waltzing into her new love life.

"Natalie, I can't divorce you and I won't. We got married until death do us part. You need to come back to New York." Aaron begged standing in the doorway.

Natalie had no idea what she was getting into now that her husband had made an ass of himself to come and beg her back when he already had a side piece while abusing her. He didn't know how to love her, always stuck on himself and not a care in the world if she even tried.

"No! Not worth dealing with abuse and you are always being selfish plus you cheated on me with someone else." Natalie pointed out.

"Please, we can work this out. I will take you out, shop with you, go anywhere you like. Natalie, sweetheart, come back." Aaron begged.

"I said NO! Now leave and never come looking for me again." Natalie demanded giving Aaron a furious look.

Before he could turn around to leave, Sheila came bounding down the stairs, and then came up to Aaron knocking his ass to the ground with an uppercut to the jaw.

"Well, you said no and he wouldn't leave." Sheila said.

We both laughed and as all three ladies dragged him out the front door another person Natalie didn't expect to see is her mother giving Natalie a pissed off look like all hell broke loose along the way. Katie came at Natalie without stopping.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You knocked out your husband and now you live with two sluts. This is disgusting. Natalie, pack your bags and come on, we are leaving. Don't bother saying goodbye to your little friends. It is time for us to be in New York and raise you properly again." Katie demanded waving her hand around to express her hate.

"Sheila knocked out Aaron for refusing my answer. Amber is my girlfriend so I am not leaving under your demand and neither of these ladies are sluts. So, go back to New York and go be with dad. I am old enough to make my own choices, I am not going back to live in hell, and I am happy where I am." Natalie replied, grabbing Amber by the hand.

Natalie didn't make it to the porch before her mother Katie grabbed her by the hair and tugged dragging her to the rental car that she assumed borrowed to get out here.

"Amber or Sheila, please help!" Natalie yelled into the air.

"You come after my daughter. I will call the law and tell them you kidnapped her." Katie said as Natalie kept being dragged.

"She is a grown woman, let her go Mrs. Holden, and let her be with whom she chooses. That isn't Aaron." Amber replied feeling her heart break watching Natalie struggle.

Natalie kicked her mom in the knee and then kicked her gut as she ran back to Amber's arms in a hurry then Sheila went over and punched Katie right in the nose. Amber, Natalie, and Sheila all three went inside to call the police as they looked over the scene, they placed Katie and Aaron in the back of two different cop cars as the three of them wrote statements of what went down. Natalie unfortunately knew her dad wouldn't be happy to hear this about her mother but she didn't know what else to do. Natalie felt at a loss on how to handle everything, Amber unstable, her mother and soon to be ex-husband ruining her love life, Sheila homeless, and people hating the fact that she is with a woman. It took all Natalie could not to find alcohol to drink her life away but as always she held it together. Natalie grabbed her cell phone to get a hold of her father and break it to him, when she finally got a hold of him, he didn't seem to care one way or another and that he is proud she stood up to her mother for bullying them three. He hung up on her before she could finish. It seemed to not matter what had gone down that her father would find someone else and be happy again.

"Looks like my father could care less, he seemed content that my mother got in trouble with the law and that we protect ourselves from her bullying." Natalie said to no one in particular.

"I hope your father has brains to divorce that wacky woman. I can't believe she tried to take you from here all because she assumes you are better with that asshole of a guy." Sheila replied.

Natalie looked at Amber, hopeful for some kind of response but nothing came from her. It concerned Natalie since Amber is known to have no filter. Sheila looked at Amber with the same concern like something wasn't right. Natalie couldn't take the silence anymore as she bit her lip.

"Babe, what is running through your mind?" Natalie asked.

Natalie didn't get a word out of Amber that stubborn country side came out at this point that Sheila grabbed Natalie by the arm and they both went outside to be on the porch. They both sat away from each other in case Amber came out behind them.

"I don't like her silence. What could make her stay quiet?" Natalie asked Sheila.

"Your mother wanting to take you back to the city with that dick wad is my guess." Sheila replied bluntly.

"I am still here and you beat the hell out of both of them." Natalie responded.

"Amber didn't get to protect you though and it might have hurt her a bit since I am the one who is always willing to bust some ass at a drop of a hat." Sheila replied.

"Oh." Natalie responded unsure of what else to say.

Natalie had never experienced this closeness with someone and being with Amber brought on more than just her mental stability but also the ability to protect her from anything and everything. They have such a unique relationship it is hard to adjust.
