The Sleeping Beauty Wakes #3
I open my eyes staring at the harsh
lights above me. Slowly I start to
remember what had happened. I bolt up
in the bed scaring the crap out of the
nurse who had just finished checking my vitals.
"Dear lord girl are you trying to give me a heart attack!" She exclaims clutching her chest.
"Ahh- cough cough- um can I have some water please?" I ask trying not to cough.
"Oh oh my bad of course you are probably so parched!" She says excitedly, pouring me a cup of water. "Drink it slowly now
your stomach must be sore from lack
of solid foods."
I take the water fully intending to drink it slowly. But as soon as the first drop hits
my tongue I immediately gulp down the
rest of the glass.

"Mmmmm water. So good. Right so um
how long have I been out for?" I ask.
"Hold on why don't I go get the doctor to explain it all to you. Your body went
through many changes while you were unconscious. It might be a little
confusing at first. I'll be right back with
Dr. Dean. He's the doctor in charge of
your health. I am nurse Izzy by the way,
but you can just call me Izzy." The nurse says kindly. I nod.
I look down at my arms immediately noticing that the tattoos that had been
on my arms are gone. Surprised I look
closer, noticing that the shadow hunter
runes weren't gone just in a different
spot, wrapping around my left wrist like
a bracelet with the tune for angelic
power located on the inside of my wrist.

'Huh that's strange, but I don't mind that
much. Honestly it's okay that the other
ones are gone. Most of them were tied
to bad memories anyway.' I think to
myself, ' wait what about my new tattoo?"
Tossing the blankets down so that they
just cover my legs I pull up the hospital gown to check for the tattoo breathing a sigh of relief that it is still there. As is my
rose tattoo on my abdomen. Looking
closer at my abs and stomach I notice
that pretty much all of my extra body fat
is gone. I touch my stomach. 'Huh that's interesting it feels all soft, but also not
at the same time, I wonder? I move my
hand and flex my abs. Eyes widening in surprise as a rock hard six pack emerges.
I grin to myself.
There's a click at the door and I drop the hospital gown back into place. Looking up
to see Izzy and a middle aged doctor walk
in smiling. I smile back.

"Welcome back to the land of the living,
Miss Stiles, I am Dr. Dean and boy am I
glad to see that you have finally woken
up. Do you remember what happened?"
He asks. And I nod.
"I remember all of it. Izzy told me that
some things happened to my body while
I was unconscious, I noticed that most
of my tattoos are gone, did the lightning
do that?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Your back tattoo is gone too. I'll tell you what happened to you now. Okay so first
off you shrank two inches in height, aged back four years, but the only people who know about that are the people in this
room and your grandfather, you must not have noticed it yet but your hair has
turned white and silver, not to mention
that it is a great deal longer than it was before you got hit by lighting." He states slowly, ' probably waiting for me to start freaking out.' I laugh to myself.

"None of these sound like bad things, if
you are worried that I am going to start freaking out don't worry I won't. Go
ahead." I state bluntly. Shocking both of them. They smile and shake their heads.
"In that case. The green and gold in your eyes turned to purple and silver. And all
of your scars except for the one from the lightning have , as well as any damage
from any previous injuries you had have
completely disappeared. And Well I don't know if you were before you got hit but I had a female doctor confirm that you
are a virgin. Your broken jaw from that
man healed itself pretty much right after you made it to the hospital. So you didn't need any surgery to repair it." He stops
Giving me a bit of time to process this
new information.
I think for a few minutes then nod for him
to continue.

"Okay now it gets very strange. Around three days after you went into the coma your body sent out this purple wave of energy that healed everyone and
everything not just in this hospital,
people all over the world were healed by
it. Everything ranging from cancer to blindness and incurable diseases were healed not to mention COVID-19. But
that's not all it did. You healed the world too. Completely reversed global warming and pollution. Thousands of years worth
of it, that's not even the most amazing
part, the pulse wave made the entire
earth bigger and brought more land to
the surface including Atlantis which is
being explored as we speak. Oh and
there's one more huge thing, the pulse wave used all of the Nuclear power and energy from all of the worlds nuclear
bombs to power the pulse wave or at
least that's what we are going with."

"Wait how do you know the pulse was
from me?" I ask in shock.
"I know because I was standing right
beside you when it happened!" Dr. Dean said.
"Wait. How long have. I been asleep?"
"You have been in a coma for nearly
eight and a half months. Its mid It's a medical miracle that you are able to speak and function normally after being asleep that long, but I suppose after what I just told
you it's not that surprising to you."
Dr. Dean says in awe.
"So how many people know that the pulse came from me. Should I be worried about the government trying to make me a test subject?" I ask. 'I hope not. That would
suck.' I think to myself.
Dr. Dean laughs. "No no you don't have to worry about that. Aside from us the only one who knows is once again your grandfather. We didn't tell anyone."

"The government knows that it came from
London Ontario but they couldn't pinpoint the exact location due to the freak storm that was still over the city messing with their equipment. Many religions have popped up worshiping the goddess
Gaia for restoring the world. Little do
they know it was actually a young woman
in a coma that they should be worshiping.
Little lightning girl." He says.
I sit thinking for a while. Suddenly my bladder starts protesting.
"Um I have. To go to the bathroom."
Izzy nods."sure hun just let me remove
the catheter tubes for you and then you
can get up and go to the bathroom."
I nod. Dr. Dean turns the other way and
Izzy comes over to me adjusting the
blanket like she has done this a thousand times, 'she probably has'. And carefully removes the tubes, it was a bit uncomfortable but not much I could do about that.

She points to my right.
"The bathroom is right there. Do you
think you will need my help to get over
there or do you want to try and do it yourself?" She asks while removing her gloves. I shake my head.
"I think I can do it myself, I'm pretty stubborn in case you haven't noticed."
I say laughing as I slide my body over to
the side of the bed. Hanging my legs
over I jump down landing gently but
steadily on my feet. I grin and walk
slowly to the bathroom. My body a little
stiff but still strong. 'Really strong
actually, I can't remember that last time
I felt this good. Definitely not in years.'
I think to myself.
Making it to the bathroom I give Izzy a thumbs up. Grinning again. She shakes
her head in awe.

I shut the door and go right to the toilet without looking in the mirror. I really had
to pee and I knew that if I looked in the mirror I would be there for a while. After relieving myself. Went to the sink and washed my hands noting how long my
nails are, for like the first time ever I
have nice long nails. After drying my
hands I finally work up the nerve to look
in the mirror. I am pleasantly surprised
but what I see and I grin at my reflection.
Looking closer at my face I notice that it
is a bit slimmer with a sharper jawline and perfect nose. My lips are fuller and on closer inspection I notice that my teeth
are different, perfectly straight and
pearly white with pointy canines. I smile again. My eyes shift to my dimples and cheekbones which are more exotic
looking than they were before.

I look to my eyes and right away I smile
after all purple is my favourite colour. I notice the shape is pretty much the
same but they are bigger than they
were before. Not much bigger but it
was noticeable to me with long perfect black eyelashes. I then notice the white eyebrows and laugh. Looking up farther
I noticed that someone had braided my
hair while I was asleep I take the long
braid and remove the hair elastic
unraveling it curious how long it
is. Unfortunately due to the fact that it
was in a braid for so long it was too
wavy to tell for sure.
' if only my hair was straight right now.'
I had just barely finished that thought
when suddenly my hair was straight and silky smooth, the thick locks flowing all
the way down to my hips. I shrug and
smile to myself. Noting that there was pretty silver streaks in my hair.

'I should make it wavy again so that
they don't know about this ability, I
want to keep some things to myself.'
' okay so hair go wavy again.' I think
concentrating on my hair as it turns
wavy again. I grin.
There's a knock at the door.
"Jade are you okay in there, you've
been in there for more than ten minutes, you didn't fall back asleep did you?"
Izzy calls through the door. I laugh out
loud.
"No I'm okay just checking out all the changes to my body. I don't think I will
be needing sleep for a while haha!"
I turn and open the door.
"So um can I take a shower or bath?
Oh and maybe change into something a little less breezy?" I ask her and she nods.
" hold on I'll go get you everything you
need and be right back!" Izzy says before rushing out of the room.

I look up at Dr. Dean and grin.
"How do you feel does everything feel normal to you?" He asks.
"Honestly? I feel amazing. Better than I have ever felt before. Strong, and stable.
It's great actually I'm having zero issues.
I know that you will want to keep me here for a few days just to be sure but I am
okay with that." I say happily.
"Oh by the way your phone is on the
table beside your bed. And your
neighbour posted on all of your social
media to let people know what
happened. That you were in a coma.
So that your friends and followers
wouldn't think you just disappeared."
Dr. Dean says grinning. I walk over and
pick up my phone turning it on.
Suddenly it starts going nuts and I
almost drop it in surprise. It finally
stops and I scroll through eight and a
half months worth of notifications
deleting the ones that I didn't really
care about. Like from games and the
simule singing app.

Izzy walks back into the room and
hands me a small pile of things,
motioning me towards the bathroom
again. I nod and smile. Deciding to
check the rest of the notifications
later, after I shower.
"We will give your grandfather a call
to let him know that you are awake,
while you are in the shower." Dr. Dean
says and I nod at him.
"Okay thank you. I'll be out in a bit."
I go back into the bathroom. Taking
the shampoo, conditioner and body
wash over to the shower I place it on
the shelf before stripping off the
hospital gown. I turn the water on and
set it to the perfect temperature.
Placing the towel on the towel rack I
step into the hot stream of water and
just stand there enjoying the feeling of water running down my body.

I stand like that for a few more minutes
before grabbing the shampoo. I
squeeze a generous amount into my
hand. Setting the bottle back down I
lather the shampoo into my long hair massaging my scalp as I go. After
rinsing the shampoo out I step out of
the water stream. Taking the
conditioner I apply it to the ends of
my hair before grabbing the body wash. Lathering the soap all over my body.
Stepping back into the water stream I
rinse the soap from my body and conditioner from my hair.
Deciding that I had spent enough time
in the shower I step out and take the
towel off of the rack wrapping it around myself I shiver slightly in the cool air. I
bend sideways reaching up to wring
some of the water from my hair.

I stop for a second. 'Hmmm I wonder?
Hair dry quickly,' I think to myself
watching in awe as my hair drys itself
the water just evaporating into the air.
I smile again. 'I wonder if I could do that with my body too, hmmmm body dry,
brrr I'm cold though,' I think.
Suddenly my body warms up and the remaining water disappears. I grin again.
Removing the towel I look down at my
body just now noticing that I am
completely hairless. Like arms legs everything from the neck down is
hairless. Fist bumping the air my face breaks out into a wide smile.
'Yessssssss no more shaving hehehehehehe. One less thing to
spend time and money on.' I chuckle
to myself. Turning to the counter I pick
up the sealed package with the brand
new underwear and sports bra.
Once those are on I throw on the pair
of scrubs Izzy had handed me. Grateful
to have a pair of pants.

I toss the towel and hospital gown into
the laundry basket by the door before walking back out into the hospital
room. When I walk out Dr. Dean is on
the phone with my grandpa but he
hangs up shortly after I walk out.
He turns to me.
"Your grandpa wants you to call him tomorrow afternoon. He said to just
relax for today. Do you mind if we take
you to run an EEG test to see if there are any abnormalities in your brain waves.
In addition to a few blood tests. Just the usual tests we run on coma patients.
Unless you are too tired. Then we can do them tomorrow!"
I laugh." Tired I've been sleeping for 8 months. I don't think I'll need sleep for several days, let's go get these tests
done and over with. I need to watch and listen to all the music and videos I missed the past 8 months so that I can catch up with what's new."

He nods and they lead me out of the
room, after walking down a few hallways
we get to the room used for the tests I needed to have taken.
Two hours later we finish the tests. My stomach growls loudly and I laugh.
Looking at Izzy she smiles.
" let's head to the cafeteria to get some food into your stomach try not to eat
too fast though your stomach isn't used
to having solid food in it anymore,
maybe we should start you out with
some soup or mashed potatoes or something like that. Nothing spicy
either."
I agree that it's probably for the best.
I look at Dr. Dean to see if he agrees.
He just nods. Still looking over my test results carefully. Stopping he looks up.

"Alright I'll part with you two here and
take these to the lab. But I don't see
why there would be any problem that's
test show that you are the healthiest
person we have had in this hospital
since I started working here. So several years. I'll return later to confirm." He
says before walking away. I look over at
Izzy and shrug grinning.
She takes my arm and leads me to the
food. My stomach growling every few minutes getting louder as I started to
smell food. Walking faster I practically dragged Izzy along as I let my nose
lead the way to the cafeteria. Izzy
laughs when she realizes that I've
turned into a human bloodhound due
to the scent of food. I give her a curious look, raising my eyebrows at her.
