Prince Qui's suspicion only heightened for when they reached the garden, he had been quickly steered away by his mother-in-law. They tried to make it subtle. She didn't pull him all the way to another side, but only held him back.

Princess Yingyue was being directed by her emperor brother down the garden. His father was going to kill him for this. Not that they have something to worry about. Prince Qui was more on the prevention side than the cure. He had the whole palace bugged the day before. He was not going to take chances.

He was sure that they would be able to hear everything that the young emperor would say. Prince Qui turned to the Empress Mother. Although he rarely smiled, he offered her his best one. But the expression on her face afterwards only resembled something like fear. This was why he did not exactly smile at people. They always thought that he was planning something evil.
