Chapter 29
"L/n, what are you doing here?" Hinata asks while I walked into the volleyball gym
"I came to practice," I said with a small smile, while my eyes quickly met with Kageyama's
"Aren't you suppose to be with your mom?" Kageyama asked me causing my smile to fade
"She- Um, She said she was busy and had some things to do, so she was going to meet with me on the last day of the camp," I explained while I set my stuff against the wall, pulling out my volleyball shoes
"Do you guys mind if I join you?" I asked, trying to break off the conversation about my mom
"L/n, I want to try and receive your jump float serve!" Hinata said excitedly with a child
"Fine, but only a few. I need to work on my spikes before the tournament coming up." I said while I grabbed a ball from the bin and made my way to the opposite side of the court
"Kageyama, are you going to join?" Hinata asked and Kageyama shook his head
"I'm going to take a break for a second." He said while he sat down, with a water bottle in his hand
"You ready, Hinata?" I asked while I let the ball bounce on the floor, earning a nod from him
I felt the ball roll off my fingertips while I started my approach
'Marriage.' Rung through my head as I jumped, causing me to lose my train of thought and hitting the ball harder than I should have
"There is one that is going to be a doctor, he says he wants to meet with you since you are in Tokyo."
'Of course, she chooses a doctor.' I thought to myself
"But he is busy, he said he had a camp."
"Because I'm sure it will be love at first sight, he is so handsome and he plays volleyball."
'I wonder if that means he is here.'
"L/n!" I heard my name called turning my attention to the worried pair of eyes that stare at me
"Huh?" I hummed in reply
"Are you Ok? You had a weird look on your face." Kageyama asked me while he let go of my shoulders
"Yea, I'm fine," I said with a small reassuring smile before the door busted open
"Hey, Hinata do you want to join our game." A black and white spiky-haired boy asked while he walked into the gym, followed behind 5 others.
"I'm practicing with Kageyama, and L/n right now," Hinata explained while the spiky-haired boy looked over at me and Kageyama
"Then they can join, we can have a 4v4." He said while he mentally split us up into teams
"I was-" Kageyama started to protest but the spikey-haired boy didn't listen
"Let's have Kuroo, Lev, Tsukishima, and the girl all on a team. And then the rest on my team." The white and black-haired boy said causing us to line up with our teams
"Isn't this unfair?" Hinata asked
"No this is fun." A tall black spiky-haired boy said, causing me to look up at him
He noticed my staring and glanced down at me before smirking at me
"Let's flip a coin to see who serves first," Kageyama suggested and everyone agreed with a head nod while the black and white spiky-haired boy ran over to his bag before returning with a coin
"Kuroo, heads or tails."
"Heads." The raven-haired boy next to me said before the coin went flying into the air only to return to the ground, slowly rolling before landing on heads
"We choose to receive then." Kuroo, before we all headed onto the court, Kuroo and Tsukishima, was in the front while Lev and I stayed in the back.
Kageyama was the first to serve
"Watch out you guys," Kuroo warned while Kageyama threw the ball into the air
"I've got it," I called off the silver-haired boy while I moved my body towards the incoming ball
"NIce Recieve!" I hear someone comment while the ball glided through the air
"Here." I heard Tsukishima call for the ball before he smacked it straight down, but a black-haired boy in a navy shirt was quick to save it
"Kageyama- Cover" I heard the black-haired was quick to say while the ball took flight
I was able to reset my feet in time to nearly miss Hinata jump, before the ball quickly flew past me.
My eyes widened while I realized what just happened but the bouncing of the ball
"Hinata! That was amazing!" I excitedly said before running to get the ball
"You think so?" Hinata said while his face reddened
I nodded before rolling the ball under the net towards Kageyama.
"Get another nice serve," I said while Kageyama picked up the ball
"You made it look like I didn't hit it hard enough."
"Sounds like you held back if you didn't hit it hard enough," I said while Kageyama stood behind the line
"What if I did?" He asked
"Then don't"
Kageyama glanced at me while he held the ball out towards us, before directing his attention to the ball.
He tossed the ball into the air before it quickly came between me and the silvered-haired boy, with a dive I was able to recover the ball, letting it glide back into the air
"Give it to me!" I called for the ball while I scrambled to my feet, causing Kuroo to glance at me before setting the ball for a back attack
'I forgot it has to be a back attack.' I thought to myself before jumping to meet the ball in the air
I hit the ball oddly, causing it to glaze against the net before hitting the floor of the other side.
"Sorry, I forgot how terrible I am in back attacks." I quickly apologized
"You got the point, that's all that matters," Kuroo said and I nodded
"You're L/n, Right?" The tall silver-haired boy asked me
I nodded causing him to smile "My name is Lev Haiba, its nice to meet you l/n." He said but before I could answer a voice urged us to hurry up
"Come on we don't have all night tonight." I heard Kageyama say causing me to quickly rotate to the front
"Nice serve, Kuroo." I heard Lev say while the Raven-haired boy stood behind the line on our side of the court.
Our volleyball game continued, either side is not willing to give up.
"20-21," Lev said the score while the other side began to rotate
"This is going to be the last point," Kuroo said confidently
"But if we score this, then it won't be your match point anymore," Kageyama said while he stopped in front of me
"L/n." Kuroo called me with a small wave
"Huh?" I hummed while I got closer
"You should try something-" He said before explaining to me what I should do
"But I have never done that before!" I protested
"The more reason why you should do it." He said before returning to his spot
'But it would be fair to their team.' I thought to myself while I walked back to the front to face Kageyama
"What?" He said in a questioning tone while he noticed me staring at him
"Nothing," I said while I quickly looked away and turned my attention to the White and Black-haired boy who was about to serve
"I've got it," Kuroo called to get the ball while it quickly headed our way
"Here," I said calling for the ball while I started my approach while Tsukishima bumped the ball in the air towards me before I spiked the ball
"Mine!" I heard the black-haired boy in navy shirt called for the ball while he saved it from hitting the ground, sending it to Kageyama
"Hey, Tobio," I called in a whisper, causing Kageyama's attention to be drawn towards me
"Wha-" He was cut off by the ball hitting his head before Hinata spiked the ball to our side
"Here, give it to me," Lev called for the ball before spiking it to the ground on the other side.
I glanced over at Kageyama who just stared at me in shock, while his face reddened
"You were right, Kuroo!" I said while I joined my team to celebrate
"Wait, that wasn't fair!" Kageyama protested
"It was your bad set that costed us," Hinata complained, causing me to laugh
"Did you see the look on his face," I said through my laughter to Kuroo, who chuckled a bit
"I have never seen the King look so dumbfounded before." Tsukishima joined in the laughter
"L/n, we need to talk," Kagayema said seriously causing my laughter to die down
"Don't tell me you are that mad over losing." I teased while he walked towards me
"Just come on." He said before grabbing my hand, leading me towards the exit
"Wait- We need to change out of our volleyball shoes first," I said stopping him in his tracks
"Can you get my bag while you are over there?" He asked with an embarrassed look on his face and I nodded before running over to our bags
"Here," I said handing him his bag before quickly changing out of my volleyball shoes
"We will see you guys tomorrow!" I said with a small wave before we left the gym
We walked in silence, stopping to get some drinks from a vending machine before heading towards a tree to sit down.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" I asked while I sat down next to the tree, resting my back against it
He stood for a second next to me, before boldly resting his head on my lap.
"Wait- What are you doing?" I asked a little startled
"Shhhh, I'm tired." He said while he closed his eyes
"But i thought you wanted to-"
"Shhhh" He shushed me again, causing me to be silent for a few minutes
"Kageyama?"
"Hmm?" He hummed, not opening eyes
"Can I play with your hair?" I asked, causing him to look up at me
"Will you be quiet?" He asked and I nodded
"Fine." He said and I gently started to play with his hair and we sat in silence again for a bit
"L/n?" He said after a while
"Huh?" I hummed while I focused on french braiding his hair
"Why did you call me Tobio earlier?"
"Because Kuroo and Tsukishima said it would be funny to see your reaction," I said while I gently ran my fingers through his hair to undo the braid
"You know you don't have to do what they said." He said causing me to blush
"I was also curious," I admitted while I started to do random things with his hair
"Why?"
"Because even though we are dating, we still call each other by our last names." I said before adding "So I was just wondering how you would react to me calling you by your first name."
"F/n." He said causing my eyes to widen while cheeks warmed up
"Tobio." I shot back
"F/n, F/n, F/n, fffffffff/nnnnnnnn."
"Tobio, Tobio, Tooooobiiiiooooo." We said in unison before bursting into laughter
"F/n." He said seriously, causing our eyes to meet
"Huh?" I hummed while I started to braid his hair again, but this time in a dutch braid
"What did your mom want to talk to you about?" He asked causing the blood to drain from my face
"She wants me-" I started to say, but my throat began to feel swollen making it hard for me to speak, "She wants me to marry someone."
Kageyama grabbed my wrist, to stop me from playing with his hair before sitting up
"What do you mean by marrying someone."
"An Arranged Marriage."
"Do you know who?" He asked, neither one of us broke eye contact while I slowly shook my head
"I only know is he wants to become a doctor, and he is a volleyball player," I said making Kageyama silent, while I broke our eyes contact and stared at the ground
"How did you answer?" He asked after a few moments of silence.
"I told her I didn't want to-" I started before adding in a whisper "but I don't think she cares about my opinion."
"Then-" He said drawing our eyes to met once again
"Let's get married."

The final day of the camp came, all too fast and I thought I would be lucky enough to go back to Miyagi before talking with my mom again.
'He can't be serious about the marriage thing.' I thought the same question again for the millionth time while I picked up the volleyball that laid on the floor
"L/n, can you set me a few more?" Hinata asked while I rolled the cart of balls towards him
"What about Kageyama, or Kenma?" I asked because I wasn't meant to be a setter, and I didn't understand how Hinata could hit some of the sets I setted
"Kenma gave up already, and Kageyama is practicing by himself," Hinata explained
"Can you please set me a few more?" Hinata asked once again
"Fine, only a few." I gave in causing him to smile
"L/n." Ecoched through the gym, drawing my attention to the teacher figure that stood at the gym doors
"Yes?" I asked in a questioning tone while Takeda made his way towards us
"Your Mom is here to see you." He said with a small smile
"Ok, where is she?" I asked while I set the volleyball I was holding into the bin while I made my way towards my bag
"I'll walk you there since you don't know the school very well." He said while changed out of my shoes
"L/n, what about setting to me?" Hinata asked in a sad tone
"I set you some whenever when we get back to Karasuno," I promised before walking out of the gym door with Takeda
"Your Mom seems like a nice lady," Takeda said trying to make small talk while we walked
"Seems," I said bitterly, causing us to walk in silence
"She is in this office," Takeda said while he pointed at the door we stopped at
"Thank you," I said with a small smile before entering the office
"L/n, what took you so long?" My mom said while she greeted me with a smile, walking away towards the tall figure that stood on the opposite of the room
"You-" I said while I realized who the tall raven-haired boy figure was
"!?" He said in a mocking tone while
"Have you two met before?" My mom asked
"We played a game of volleyball a few nights ago together." The raven-haired boy answered
"Well, then I will leave you two to talk." My mom said with a smile before leaving
The door closed, causing our eyes to meet, my gaze a glare while he was softer
"Don't look at me like that." The raven-haired boy said
"Then how should I look at you?"
He just stared at me before dropping his head "Do you really think I want to do this?" Kuroo asked me in a whisper, causing my gaze to soften
"But you don't have to, you could just leave and neither of us will be bothered," I comment while I sat down in one of the chairs
"But I do."
"Why?"
"Because-" he continued to stare at the ground "Your mom agreed to save my Dad's company."
"How much?"
"Enough to get my family by," Kuroo said while he finally looked up at me
"Even if you run from this, even if I tell her I won't do it," Kuroo explained before adding "She will find another guy, and find a way."
"I know," I admitted
"Then why are you trying to fight it?" Kuroo asked, causing me to be silent
"Is it because of Kageyama?" Kuroo asked in a whisper, while my silence answered his question
"You don't think I have someone I love?"
"Then why not fight this and date them?" I tried to convince him
"Because I need to be able to support my family."
"You're going to be a doctor, you will be able to support them."
"In the future, not now." He said not wavering while silence priced the room
"You two make a cute couple." He said while I dryly laughed before becoming silent again
"You should know, I'm never going to agree to this marriage." I flatly said before adding "Even if Kageyama wasn't with me I still would."
"Why?"
"Because I don't want my mom to choose who I love," I said while spun in the chair a few times until I faced Kuroo again to comment
"If there is no love, then what is the foundation for marriage?"
"What are you doing here?" I hear my mom say before the door opened
"Kenma?" I heard Kuroo say while I turned around to see Kageyama, Hinata, and Kenma all standing at the doorway
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked while Kenama went to join Kuroo
"Meat." Kageyama plainly said before Hinata joined in
"We are having cooked meat!" Hinata said excitedly
"Come on, we need to hurry or it will all be gone," Hinata said while he dragged me out of my chair
"Kenma, what are you doing here?" I overheard Kuroo ask Kenma
"You disappeared for so long, and I figured you wouldn't want to miss dinner." Kenma explained while he played a game on his phone
"F/n, wait-" I heard my mom start to say while Hinata dragged me out the door
"I'll see you later." I cut her off and disappeared down the hallway with Kageyama and Hinata before she could say anything
"Did you guys really come because you were worried about me missing dinner?" I asked while we all walked together
"Kageyama was worried." Hinata teased
"You're the one that ran into the gym yelling something about L/n meeting with her mom," Kageyama said causing me to laugh
"How did you even find us?"
"Kenma used an app, apparently he was looking for Kuroo too," Hinata said before realizing we were close to the meat, before disappearing towards the smell of meat
"I guess you know who now," Kageyama said
"What? Are you worried I might fall for him?" I asked teasingly, causing him to stop walking
"What are you going to do?" He asked me while I stopped
"I'm not sure." I admitted before adding "I figured I would have a bit more time to think about it once we get home."
"Let's just get married, then we won't have to worry about your mom."
"But we can't, we are still too young," I said while I stared at the ground
"But then how would you marry Kuroo?"
"After high school." I said before adding "My mom was going to have us get married once I finished high school."
"Then let's run away together." He suggested
"What about volleyball or school?" I asked
"None of that matters if you're not there."
"Yea but-" I said flustered, realizing what he said causing me to turn bright red
"So I'm more important than volleyball?" I teased
"Of course you are." He confidently said
"Come on Lovebirds lets go get some food." I hear Hinata say while he ran towards us
"You are going to miss all the good meat!" He said while he started to drag both of us along

I watched out the window while the light flashed past while the bus travels back towards Miyagi, I glanced around at the bus to see if anyone was awake but everyone was asleep.
'I'll be safe when I get back.....
