High Ceilings…

"Right then, where are these tapes then? Let me just see it and confirm your alibi and then I can get out of your hair, and get back to more prominent leads." She says and wanting to get this over with as well I respond, letting her into my house. "Of course, just follow me. It's this was, just pa- W-wait a second, where are you going?" I confirm and allow her entry into my home but instead of following me now that she has permission, she walks straight past me and begins to look around as she walks through the hallway looking for anything of value as she heads towards the kitchen door behind which Laura is still sat and she is the murderer that Detective DeWolff is looking for so I try to hurry after her to divert her away from it but I was too stunned to move after her since I was astounded by her audacity and brashness and so when I ran after her it was already too late and she had already opened the door and peaked through into the kitchen, even so I had managed to get their just as she had opened the door and slide past her to stand in the doorway in front of her and block her view so that she would not be able to see into the kitchen and I just prayed that Laura either couldn't be seen from this angle or she had heard us coming and she quickly his and so I place both of my palms on either doorframe and make myself as big as I possibly can to block her view and prevent her from seeing my little murder happy stray.

"The security room is not in this direction; it is not even on this floor. If you would please follow me to it, and this time try not to wander off." I tell her even as I shove my face into hers to try and block even more of her view into the kitchen but I can't help but wonder if I was too late and Laura had been seen already, instead of trying to peek around my head to see into the kitchen she stares straight into my eyes almost as if she is challenging me and she makes no move to see past me which makes me worry that she has already seen everything she needs to which is why I am surprised when she just turns around and walks back the way we came to stop in front of the stairs leading upstairs. "Sorry, my mistake. You should be more clear next time, more specific." Chancing a quick look behind me into the kitchen as she walked off I'm treated to the sight of an absolutely empty kitchen which means that Laura has most likely scurried off somewhere which both pleases and worries me because she might have entirely left the building and ran off because of the words I said and the line I crossed or she might still be in the building because of the words I said and the line I crossed and she is waiting for the police detective to leave so she can chop off my head, either way I can't worry about it now and so I quickly close the kitchen door and rush off after Detective DeWolff and meet her at the stairs and begin leading her to the security room so that she can see the security footage and leave so that I can get back to dealing with the missing super assassin that is most likely somewhere in my home right now vying for my head.

Leading Detective DeWolff through my home I'm constantly watching and checking around every corner still worried about Laura's location and just where she could be but fortunately or maybe unfortunately I didn't see an inkling of her and so I just had to hope for the best being her leaving and prepare for the worst being her sharpening her claws around the corner but ultimately I need to get rid of this police detective as soon as possible so I can actually be free to deal with my other problem, entering the room I quickly direct Detective DeWolff over to the computer and I allow her to watch as I bring up my outside security camera footage and allowing her to peruse the entire folder at her leisure so she can be assured of my innocence and while she was busies herself with that I allow myself a moment to relax and release a sigh of relief bending my head backwards to face the ceiling and when I do I am assaulted by the sight of a teenage girl clinging to the ceiling off the room by digging her claws into my ceiling and keeping herself pinned their with her arms and legs and I just stare straight up into her eyes and she stares straight back down into mine and at that very moment I'm glad that I have high ceilings so that Detective DeWolff wouldn't see her but realising the fact that I have even more pressing matters to deal with right now I avert my eyes from Laura and walk back over to Detective DeWolff so that I can get this over with.

"So, Detective DeWolff, are you single at the moment? Because if not, I'd love to get your number and take you out for dinner sometime." I say as I peer over her shoulder at the computer screen and watch as she goes through dozens of different video files showing my drive and she is going from two weeks ago and working her way up to the present date for some reason probably looking for discrepancies or something and trying to verify the validity of yesterday's footage which shouldn't be a problem since it is actually real but I can't wait for her to take her time with this and I need to get her out of here as soon as possible, which is why I have decided to be as obnoxious as possible and start hitting on her to try and make her leave as quickly as possible and while I have just started to hit on her I haven't even started to be obnoxious yet and as soon as I do she will probably run for the hills and once she has I can start to deal with the women clinging to my ceiling and staring down at me and my current guest.

"I am currently available at the moment, but that shouldn't matter to you. I don't like to mix my work with my personal life, and I'm not going to go out with a suspect or someone related to my work." She states while still calmly searching through the footage absolutely unfettered by my advances so I guess I will just have to turn up the charm, time to bring forth my inner Johnny Storm and start being as obnoxious, arrogant and sleazy as possible so that she will hurry this up and leave my house so that I can either beat up the girl on my ceiling or get it over with and die under her claws. "Come on, you seem like the type of gal that's passionate about her work. I bet there isn't a single moment in the day where you aren't thinking about a case or something, meaning that you probably don't meet people that often since you're always on the clock. Plus, if you can hurry up and eliminate me from your investigations then I will no longer be related to your work. Then me and you can go out for a nice drink, some dinner and maybe back to mine afterwards and I can show you the time of your life, and maybe you can show me the time of my life." I start to go heavy and not take no for an answer which is obviously annoying and will hopefully convince her to fasten her pace and leave this house but even during all this she doesn't fasten her pace at all and if anything she starts to be more thorough in her investigation and so I start to get even more forward with her and even getting a little crass at which point she just stopped responding to me even though I kept the one sided conversation going and eventually she had finished going through the footage and come to the conclusion that I was innocent and so she turned to leave and so I followed her and walked her downstairs to my front door which she stepped out of, but it was at that very moment that she decided to stop and turn around before reaching back into er pockets and pulling out her fine book and pen and I figured she was annoyed by my attitude so she was going to hit me with some extra fines for my attitude which I could literally not care less about so when she finishes writing on the fine and rips it out and holds it out for me to take I take it without a fuss only to be surprised by the fact that there was no actual fine on their and instead there was just a phone number on it.

"That is my phone number, you better call me. And you better not make me regret this, or else I'll make you regret it. I expect you to put some effort into it, I'm not a cheap girl and I like to be wined and dined." Saying so Detective Jean DeWolff turned around and left without waiting for me to reply getting into her cool car and driving off leaving me stunned that she was actually receptive to my advances and she actually gave me her number instead of ripping my head off but I guess it takes all sorts and she was just someone that liked my obnoxious, crass behaviour or maybe it was something else but either way I scored myself a date with a hot, sexy police detective so I guess that's a plus, I don't have time to think about that now though since I've got a homicidal teenage girl still clawing to the top of the ceiling in my security room and so I quickly close the door and lock it before turning around and running back upstairs and into the security room but once inside I look up at the ceiling and she is no longer there and so I panic and start to rush around the entire floor searching every ceiling, every closet and even under the beds and furniture for her but I can't seem to find her and when I finally finish searching all the rooms on this floor I come to the conclusion that she isn't on this floor and so I rush back downstairs and begin to check all the rooms that I can one after the other trying to find this woman and identify the threat before it identifies me.

Having checked quite a few rooms downstairs I rush across the house to the kitchen which has given access to the other rooms in the house, but when I slide the door open, I spot Laura calmly sat at the kitchen table watching me like a hawk...
