Chapter 3

Justin sighs sadly, knowing he's not going to get him to talk.

When the duo got home, Jamey quickly rushed to his room, shutting his door. Justin sighing, he walked into the kitchen to get started with dinner.

Eugene came in, seconds later. "Hey, my love. What are you cooking tonight?" Eugene asked, hugging Justin around his waist.

He had bruises on his hips and waist from last night's fun.  Justin hissed in pain quietly, though Eugene probably could still hear.

He let's go, walking over to the fridge. He grabs a bottle of beer, opening it, and taking a swift. "Babe, you tired."He says, looking at Justin's eyes.

"You want some?" He asks, gesturing to the beer. Justin shakes his head, before going back to the pasta.

Eugene storms up to Justin, placing a hand on his chest, pushing Justin onto the island. "Speak, Goddammit!" He yelled, his voice still ringing in Justin's ears.

"N-no," Justin says weakly. Eugene nods letting go of Justin. The water starts to boil, so he pours the pasta into the pot, silence filling the room.

Eugene watches, taking a sip of his beer now and then. Though when he runs out, he goes into the fridge to grab another one.

Though he slams the refrigerator door shut, glaring at Justin. Justin could feel the intensity in the room going higher. "Yes, dear," Justin says, as calmly as possible.

"You didn't get the damn beer!" He yells each step he takes, sounding like thunder. "I-I'm s-sorry-y. If-forgo-"

"-You're useless! You hear me!! Can't even think straight!! Your out to get me! That's why you didn't buy the beer!" Eugene yells, grabbing Justin by the collar.

"You trying to kill me!! Well, I'll kill you first!" Eugene yells, choking Justin. "I-I'll g-go get it...….. Just let m-me g-go." Justin says, trying to breathe for air.

"If I let you go, you going to leave me. But no, til death do us part bitch." Eugene says as Justin starts to blackout.

When Justin wakes up, he's on the couch, with a blanket on top of him. He looks around and sees Jamey looking up at him.

"Papa, are you ok?' Jamey asks standing back up to his full height. Though Jamey is only 5, he was taller than the majority of 5-year-olds.

"Yeah, I'm fine. What happened?" Justin asked as he sat up in the chair. "Papa laid you on the couch," Jamey says, before walking back to his room like nothing just happened.

But to their eyes, Justin going unconscious due to Eugene wasn't uncommon, just had to be a good enough reason in Eugene's eyes.

Justin stood to his feet, wobbling for a few seconds before going back into the kitchen to fetch his wallet.

If Eugene was asleep then that gave him a few hours to get the beer, then make dinner.

Justin walked out of the house and got into the car to drive to the market.

At The Market

Justin walked into the grocery store as slowly as possible. Admiring the time he had to himself, even if it was pouring. He walked inside the small market, and towards the beer aisle.

"Are you an alcoholic?" Someone says from behind Justin. He turns around and it's a man with scars all over his face and neck.

"Hey, uh you probably don't know me, I'm the waiter, well was the waiter, I'm not a waiter anymore I kill people now but anyway hi."

The man holds out his hand for Justin to shake, and he hesitantly does. "I don't know who you are," Justin says quietly and the man laughs.

"Ha! Of course, you don't! I look different, in a bad way. Remember when that dude proposed to you, and you said yes? Of course, you do, I was your waiter."

Justin suddenly remembered that man, though he was right, he did look different.

"Oh, I remember you, Wayne, right?" "Liam. It's ok if you don't how is the marriage holding up?" Liam asked as Justin grabs a beer.

"Hell. How's your skin holding up." Justin says sharply, not wanting to talk about Eugene or his marriage. He could hear Liam following him as he walked towards the cash register.

"When skin cancer happens, all you can do is say Banana Boat didn't do shit." Justin chuckled at Liam's joke going into the self-checkout line.

"You aren't wrong. And hey, sorry about the whole cancer  thing." Justin says generously, as he packed the beer onto the conveyer belt.

"Hey, since we both seem to have depressing lives, how about we talk about them. Ther-" He stops just as Justin scans his I.D.

Justin turns around confused as to why Liam stopped talking. "What, happened to your neck?" Liam asked, slowly walking towards Justin.

"Nothing just fell down the stairs," Justin says as Liam gave him a skeptical look. "Falling down the stairs gives you a black eye, not handprint bruises on you-, did he do this to you?" Liam asked shocked.

Justin places a hand on his neck, covering the bruises. "No, it's fine. I should go." Justin says, grabbing the bag of beer, though before he could leave Liam grabs his wrist.

Pure fear erupts in Justin's eyes, and Liam could see it. He let's go, sadly looking at Justin.

Though when Justin walked out of the store, Liam smiled to himself.

As Justin placed the bag of beer into the backseat, he catches a note. He grabs it and reads the note.

Hey Justin. I told you I was a mercenary, so I can do stuff like this. Anyway, 's meet me at Sister Margarets, then we can Party.

Justin sighs, going into the driver's seat and grabbing his phone to search for a place called Sister Margaret's.

At Sister Margaret's

Justin hesitantly walked into the run-down bar, seemingly getting sexual looks from the bar mates.

Justin went up to one of the seats, sitting down at the empty table. A waitress walks up to him, having a smirk on her face.

"Hi sir, what would you like?" She asks, leaning down onto the table to show her cleavage. Justin immediately looked down at the table.

"Uh, can I just get a soda, Sprite?" He says, nodding at the lady. She smiles at him, sitting down across from him. "Is that it?" She asks, leaning her head on the arm.

Before she could answer, however, someone else pulled out the chair, making her fall to the floor. That someone being Liam.

"Bitch please, no one wants you." He smiles at Justin as the girl scurries up to her feet. "Why would yo-" She starts, though stops when she looks at Liam.

"Oh, I-I'm so sorry, Deadpool. Please forgive me." She says, hurrying behind the bar.

Liam sits down in the girl's old seat, smiling at him. He takes out his hand to shake, scars all over. Though Justin did judge, just shook his hand.

"So, Deadpool, that's what everyone calls you. Are you known in these parts?" Justin asks, somewhat joking.

Liam sighs, facepalming. "Sorta, it's just, I'm probably the best mercenary alive," Liam says, though his tone wasn't bragging.

Justin nodding, listening to Liam explains how the merc biz goes.

"So they gave you a Superhero name?! But your not." Justin says astonished by what humanity can come up with. Liam shrugs taking a sip of his drink.

"It's not a Superhero name. Because I am no superhero. Just a legend." Liam says, waving his hands spookily.

Justin rolls his eyes at the attempt to scare him. "That is awesome," Justin says, before taking a long sip of his Sprite.

"You must like Sprite," Liam says laughing. Justin looks at him, confused. "What do you mean?" Justin says, placing his glass on the table.

"Do you remember when I was your waiter? You ordered Sprite." Liam says smiling. Justin looked at him shocked.

"How did you remember that?!" Justin asked, amazed at the man's memory.

"Simple, that was the night I was diagnosed with skin cancer." He says like he was talking about rainbows and kittens.

"O-oh, I'm so-" He starts, but Liam holds a hand up to stop. "Shh, stop. Just stop. I hate that whole Oh, Liam I am so sorry.  Don't say if you don't mean it." Liam says coldly.

Justin looked up at him, before grabbing his hand. Rubbing circles on the backside of his hand with his thumb.

"Don't say that. I do care." Justin starts, a smile on his face. "I haven't heard myself laugh in years. Thank you, Mr. Wilson." Justin says, truthfully.

He gets up from his seat, giving Liam a peck on the cheek before walking out of the bar. Not before leaving his number on the table for Liam.

He knew that he would get beat up by Eugene because he wasn't back with the beer quick enough.  But he didn't care, because he was happy.

Present

Justin saw as Jamey ran into the laundry room. He coughed again, spitting out the blood. He slowly stood as Eugene looks at him, smiling.

"It's just you and me whore." Eugene says sharply walking towards Justin.

On the other side of the house, Jamey called the one person he could, Liam. The phone rang for a second before someone answered.

"Hey, man what's up?" Liam asked, his voice sore from sleep. Jamey shifted in his hiding spot trying to get a better view of what was happening.

The makeshift couple was mostly arguing until Justin says out of the blue;

"You know what, fine! I can't do this anymore. I want a - no I need  a divorce!" Justin yells, loud enough for Liam to hear across the phone.

"Hey, buddy. Listen to me, what's happening?" Liam asks worriedly." Jamey's attention goes back to the phone as he watches his parents argue.

"Papa wants a divorce, and he's bleeding bad. You need to come quick." Jamey says, whispering into the phone.

On the other side of the phone, Liam quickly grabs his things, running to the other side. "Ok, Underoos, listen to me. Call the police and tell them what's happening."

Liam quickly gets into his car to drive to Justin's house. "Ok, I have t-" Jamey starts before Eugene takes the phone away from him.

He hangs up the phone before looking at the contact. He growls, throwing the phone on the ground.

He storms up to Justin. "I knew it you whore! He says, loudly. Grabbing Justin, by the throat. Justin clawed at Eugene's hand, trying to let go.

"That's why you've been gone. That's why you want a divorce! To go see your little side chick, Liam!" Eugene says, saying his name with venom.

Justin needs a Superhero right now, and Liam's the best one for the job.
