Chapter 13

A Trial

Today was the day, and the trio had to wake up at 8, and it was 8:30. Justin woke up first, followed by Jamey, then Liam.

Justin turned to Liam, showing him the white and red suit. "Does the tie look crooked, it looks crooked to me." Justin worried, and Liam laughed at his friend.

"No, you look fine. But you know what is crooked?" Liam asks to smirk, and Justin rolled his eyes. "If it's a sex joke, I don't want to hear it," Justin says, grabbing his toothbrush.

"No, it's dot a sex joke," Liam says suspiciously, as he quickly walked out of the room.

"Hey, thanks for watching Jamey after I fell asleep, but I could have slept on the couch," Justin says, walking into the living room.

He looked at the couch, his eyes going wide. "Where's Jamey?!" Justin asks, looking back at Liam, who just chuckles.

"He's in the guest room," Liam says, walking to the door to his left, opening it to reveal a sleeping Jamey.

"Ok, thank god. Wait, there was a guest room. Why didn't you tell me? I could have slept in there." Justin says, looking at Liam in disbelief.

Liam rolls his eyes, gently shutting the door. "I wanted you to sleep with me," Liam says, letting go of the doorknob.

Justin's face went red, and he looked down to hide the embarrassment. "Ok." He says simply, walking out of the hall and into the open space.

Liam followed, fixing his jacket. "So, when should we wake him up?" Justin asks, shifting the conversation to something comfortable.

"Your choice, we just got to leave by 9: 30," Liam says, grabbing a banana from on top of the tall fridge.

"What's the time?" Justin asks, pointing to the nice watch on his scarred wrist. He lifts his arm, groaning as he reads the time.

"It's nine, we should be heading out soon," Liam says, leaning on the fridge. "I'm going to get Jamey up," Justin says, grabbing the bag of new clothes off the counter.

He walks into the guest room as Liam gets a phone call. The caller I.D was unknown, so he quickly picks up.

"Hello?" He says, picks holding the phone with his shoulder as he eats the banana.

"Hey, DP, your client is getting pretty any because you haven't dealt with the stalker. Where are you?" Weasel questions, getting a sigh out of Liam.

"I'm at my apartment," Liam answers, hearing glass break on the other side of the phone. "I'm coming over," Weasel says, and Liam's body goes stiff.

"You can't I have company right now. I'll do it, ok." Liam says and he could hear Weasel roll his eyes.

"But you can't, you don't have the address or anything. You haven't been to the bar in a week." Weasel says as Liam grabs cereal and two bowls for Justin and Jamey.

"I know, I had some personal business to take care of. By next week, I promise." Liam says, turning around to open the fridge door.

"But we don't have a week, DP. Do it by 12 or I'm going to give the job to someone worthy." Weasel says simply, before hanging up the phone, Liam just grabbing the milk.

"Dammit!" Liam yells, shutting the door with force. He groans hoping Justin didn't hear him. He leans his head on the island laying the milk beside him.

"How am I suppose to sneak out of the house without neither of them seeing me, and with my costume," Liam says to himself as he hears footsteps coming towards him.

He looks up to see a worried Justin. "Are you ok?" Justin asks, walking up to him. Liam nods sighing, as Justin grabs the cereal to pour Jamey a bowl.

"Just work." Liam mumbles and Justin nods understandingly. He then, pours the milk, before handing it to Jamey. He looks up at Liam and smiles.

"You won't be hungry?" Justin asks, tilting his head to the side like always. Liam waves him off, gesturing to his banana.

Justin nods, handing Jamey a spoon, to which he accepts politely. "Papa, how long is the thing going to be?" Jamey asks, his mouth full of cereal.

"Don't talk with your mouth full, and maybe I'll tell you," Justin says, smiling at Jamey.

Jamey quickly swallows before sticking his tongue out at Justin, showing him. "Just an hour, then there will be recess, and then the verdict will be made," Justin says smiling at Jamey, before taking another bite of his cereal.

"Hopefully in our favor," Liam says with a smile, and Justin shrugs. "There is too much evidence, especially ones that contradict Eugene's story," Justin says, swallowing.

Jamey looked at the two adults, before his eyes light up, him gasping. "There's going to be recessed!!!!" Jamey asks excitedly.

Justin laughs at his son, putting the young boy under his arm. Not with slides or swings, but sort of." Justin says, squeezing his son in a side hug before releasing.

When Jamey was finished with his cereal, he tugged at his father's sleeve, grinning. "I'm done!" Jamey says proudly, and Justin smiles.

"Where do you put it?" Justin questions as Liam listens quietly. Interested in how good of a father Justin is.

Jamey looked around the kitchen, before spotting the sink. He places the bowl in the sink, looking at his father, who smiles.

"Good job, Jamey," Justin says, and Jamey grins proudly. Justin, who was already done, looks at Liam, who gives him a thumbs up.

"Ok, if we go over the speed limit, we should be able to make it by 10." Liam joked, and Justin rolled his eyes. "So, we're going to be late?" Justin questions, and Liam shrugs.

"You're just a demy downer," Liam mumbled, grabbing his keys. The trio walking out of the door, happily, like a family.
