It has now been four months since I have awoken to this reality, and with each passing day it becomes less and less likely that this is a dream. And today is finally the day. One worth celebrating for years to come.
"I can crawl b*itches!" Is what I wanted to scream in revelation, but all I could manage was an excitable squeal. All the pride I felt towards all my academic achievements felt menial in comparison to this basic movement.
I had succeeded in crawling into my mother's arms, and she burst out with jovial laughter accompanying my father's content smile, which caused a painful pang to run across my heart. I was soon left bewildered at my own emotions.
Snapping away from my curiosity, I realised with this, I can attempt more exploration of the house.
A few days later I had found my way to the garden and what I saw was rather puzzling. Eleanor was stood, still as stone, both her arms raised in front of her and her eyes closed. She was mumbling incoherently while father observed with his arms crossed over his chest. His black shirt sleeves had tightened enough to expose his muscular arms. Then Eleanor's brown dress started to sway, yet there was no wind. Suddenly, a deep blue coloured lightning coiled around her arms like a snake and shot forward roughly four metres.
I made a face that could only be described as one of pure elation as I let out an awe inspired gasp. Yet she made a somewhat disappointed face.
'It appears I won't be missing the internet anymore' I thought gleefully as the corners of my lips threatened to form a grin.
Nathaniel noticed my reaction, and his head turned so quickly I thought it would snap. After realising it was me he walked over in a brisk yet calm fashion and lifted me off the ground. Bringing me to eye level get said with a smile
"I'll teach you when you're older." With that he set me down in the house and closed the door. 'Crap, another thing to drive me insane, it's bad enough with the lack of control I have over this body, now I have to wait to learn as well?' I sighed. As I crawled around around some more I entered what could only be considered as a bathroom. A smooth stone bath tub was attached to the far left wall. I had never been in as my parents just used a damp cloth to rub my down while pouring water on me. But what I had never realised was there was a mirror on the wall next to the door.
As I crawled over to the reflective surface, I was conflicted over my own appearance .
I half expected my appearance, which consisted of a freckled face with a pale complexion, ocean blue eyes, rectangular framed glasses, and chocolate brown hair to be staring back at me.
However, what I saw was very different. My skin, while pale, was just that. There were no freckles. My hair was mouse brown with a reddish tint. And my eyes. . . Were the main cause for the conflicted feelings against my appearance. My left eye was electric purple, like Nathaniel's, while my right eye was a pale blue like Grace's. 'Heterochromia' I thought. However, I can't actually tell right now who I resemble more. Grace then walked through the door and spotted me.
"Aww" she cooed "is little Eli looking at himself?". Lately Grace has been calling me by that nickname along with calling my sister "Ella". While I don't particularly mind nicknames, it is difficult to get used to being named differently in general. 'Speaking of names, I should probably call them mum and dad when I'm able to speak' I noted.
With that, she picked me up and put me in a cradle, in a room that was across from the bathroom. 'Just as I was starting to feel tired' I nodded.
