After a few hours of walking, a few hours of begging my mother to calm down, and a few hours of internal complaints that the trouble of wading through the dense vegetation, we arrived at an are once again clear of fog. And I have to say... it wasn't much different from what I was expecting. There housing was incorporated into the trees, most likely through the manipulation possible due to nature magic. They made brilliant use of the twisting branches and foliage to get a suitable living area, but it was thoroughly underwhelming as there was no real individuality for each home.
As we continued to walk, we encountered numerous glares of both fear and indignation. Which only led me to respect my mother in another aspect. Countless numbers of the elves held an air that screamed they wanted to drive us off. Somehow they managed to restrain themselves, meaning our walk went undisturbed.
I could only attest that to either one of two things. Uncertainty of winning against my mother. Or they were warned, if not threatened, prior to this event not to approach her. And from the glares of indignation and their air of superiority, I was more inclined to believe it was the latter of the two options.
After another 20 minutes of walking, we arrived at what seemed to be one of the more important buildings, given the fact that it was incorporated into a larger tree, with a far more complex design. The door was furnished with flourishing green inlays, greatly contrasting with the oak base colour.
While I was admiring the door, my mother almost blew it off its hinges, launching an almost iceberg shaped blast of ice at the door, leaving it barely attached to its frame.
"I'm getting rusty..." I heard her mutter, which sent shivers down my spine. Ironic considering as I have an ice affinity, I don't get cold too easily.
All the guards that weren't blown away in the impact raised their weapons, whether it be spear, sword or bow. This instantly put me into alert, as I started shrouding my hands in navy electricity. During my training we had discovered that I neither lean to enhancer class nor caster class, this is most likely due to my parents being opposing classes as well as the fact that if I had been born with one element, it would have solidified my position in either class.
In my opinion, the benefits out weighed the negatives, but as they say "jack of all trades, master of none". After my initial enhancement, I created needle sized icicles that oscillate in there position, almost as if they were in a battle frenzy while being tied down.
"Its okay Eli, this rabble isn't even worth fighting". My mothers icy voice rang through the hall, making the battle ready guards falter. Quivering, they lowered their weapons slightly, but didn't surrender.
"Stand down, you wouldn't stand a chance against her anyway" an aged voice croaked from the end of the hall. Mother's laughter echoed and reverberated throughout the hallway.
"Glad to know at least some of you arrogant fools know your place" she taunted. You could hear the click of a tongue come from the elder. Slowly, his figure approached us and I saw a wrinkled face, with bright emerald eyes and greying hair with sprinkles of black. He adorned a black robe with an emerald crest along with flowing embellishments.
"Why would you bother to come here?" he asked with thinly veiled venom.
"To teach one of your kin a lesson in respect" my mother replied in her icy tone, her eyes searing into the mans soul.
"And why the hell would you need to do that?" his anger raised, to which my mother responded in her calculative tone about what I had described to her.
"You burst down my doors for that!" he roared a his aura spiked, clearly indicating his fury.
"That girl is a racist with a superiority complex, demanding things from my son! And you expect me not to come barging in?!" my mother roared back, her own aura battling and suppressing the elders as you could see flashes of a frozen over environment bordering against a wild jungle. I was in awe.
Their mana was so refined it caused imagery to those who felt its pressure.
Eventually, the elders aura receded, as he lost the power struggling.
"Point her out to me, she will be punished accordingly" he muttered in defeat, earning a sly grin from my mother.
'While this isn't the outcome I wanted, I at least got a picture of what I'm aiming for' I thought to myself, still in awe of the spectacle I just witnessed.
Eventually, all 3 girls that were similar to how I described were lined up in front of me. Once my eyes locked with hers, her already pale skin drained of any colour. I didn't even need to point her out, when she had such a terrible poker face.
"FREYA!"
