Competition

It had been a week since Euran had been crippled by Justine, and during the week, the village had undergo something like a lockdown as everyone from the village heard about what had happened to Euran.

The village lord had ordered that, they should stay inside for the time being until they can figure out if Eurans attacker is still nearby and if he had the intention to do more harm to the village.

During the week, Justine had been inside his house, practicing magic with Aster, ofcourse he did this in secret as to not surprise his parents so he needed to be careful when practicing magic since his mother is a mage, who can also make spells and sense if there is someone is using magic .

As another week had passed, the villagers decided that the attacker of Euran was no more and it was just a passing adventurer who had been angered by Euran somehow, thus the village lord had concluded that it is safe now.

As Justine was practicing by the lake once again he brought along Aster to train with him, Aster was currently playing by the water and that was when Justine saw one of his tails glow a light blue for a moment but soon faded away also.

' Hmm, i guess that tail must be the one that can enable Aster to use water magic, then that must mean the other three can also allow him to manipulate the Four basic elements. ' Justine thought.

As the sun was setting, it was time for Justine ams Aster to head back home. The next day when Justine was heading to the lake again, he saw people heading to the center of the village, he was curious as to what was going on so he decided to follow them and head to the center also.

As soon as Justine got to the center of the village where the village lords mansion was located, he saw a carriage with Knights with armor that were atleast A-rank surrounding the carriage and mages who have a large amount of mana and were wearing robes with an insignia of crown with wings on the middle of their robes.

As everyone was wondering what the knights and mages were doing in there village a knight spoke up and got everyones attention.

" Attention everyone! we came from the capital to seek talents from the younger generation to join us at Uni Academy! in 1 month we will host a competition with 5 winners to see which children will be able to join us at Uni. The age requirement must be 10 and above, anyone below that age will not be able to participate." The man announced to the village.

Immediately, the villagers were excited at the thought of their children being able to receive education from the third best academy in the kindom. As the carriage was leaving the village as they had done what they wanted, the fathers of the children in the village were now trying to teach their sons who were above the age requirement swordsmanship, although not everyone was a good swordsman, and thus failed at doing so, but all the villagers thought of one person who can help them in that moment.

" Harold! please you gotta help us, please teach our sons some basic swordsmanship please. " the villagers immediately went to Harold and Crystal's house and pleaded to him to teach their sons swordsmanship.

" This...uh... " Harold was in a tight spot, he wanted to help the villagers but he also wanted to teach his son so he will be able to have a chance of winning the competition.

Seeing as his father was struggling to make a decision, Justine made a suggestion to help him.

" Dad, how about you teach me and the other kids by having classes at some time in the day. "

Harold thought about it and approved of the idea, since he can both teach Justine and help the villagers. They decided that the classes woulf be held every 2 days and around noon so they can bask in the sunlight to strengthen their bodies.

Their first class was scheduled in 2 days, so Justine still had a day to do what he wants and he intended to use it by researching about the capital.

During his research, he saw a documentation of him and his friends back then, recording their adventures from their first as a group and as last, although some of it were wrong, he guessed that they may have been altered to make the impression on people that they were truly the best group of adventurers, but what documentation hadn't been altered in one way or another he thought.

As a month quickly passed by, Justine and the other kids were now ready for the upcoming competition that was now tomorrow.
