Extinct

Vengeance:

"What the hell are you doing here," I ask, keeping the gun on Thrill Rider and Mick. Thrill Rider, who is still sitting Mick to the ground, slowly pulls back his hands. He's about to get up but I stop him.

"Don't move," I order, firing a shot. I hit the floor and woodchips fly all over. Thrill Rider jumps a little but he doesn't move.

With both Thrill Rider and Mick not moving and their hands up, I walk up to them. Walking up to Thrill Rider first, I push him back slightly and aim at Mick.

"Vengeance, don't do this," Thrill Rider begs. "I don't know what Mick did but it's not worth it!"

"Not worth it," I yell, my voice making Thrill Rider jump more than the gunshot. "No. No! It is worth it! He took someone from me, and now. Now, I'm going to take something from him. Unfortunately for me, it's his worthless life. His worthless, pathetic life."

Aiming the gun at Mick's head, I pull the trigger but as I do, Thrill Rider shoots out his hand. Thrill Rider hits my hand, pushing it out of the way, and because of him, I miss Mick.

Mick screams and slams both his hands against his right ear.

"What the--" I say before Thrill Rider jumps off Mick and tackles me to the floor. As Thrill Rider tackles me, he also knocks the gun out of my hand. It flies through the air and lands only a few feet from me. I try to grab it but Thrill Rider keeps me from reaching it.

Every time I reach out my hand, Thrill Rider grabs it and slams it down.

"Get off me," I yell, trying to kick Thrill Rider but the bastard is heavier than he looks.

"Noooo," Thrill Rider yells back. "I won't let you kill Mick! Killing someone, ending someone's life, is never the solution! You're a decent person! I won't let you ruin it!"

"You don't know anything about me!"

When Thrill Rider and I pointlessly argue, I see Mick run out of the office, holding his ear. He slams through the double door with his shoulder before disappearing into the hallway.

"Mick," I shout, my scream echoing throughout the room. Looking at Thrill Rider, I close my hand and punch Thrill Rider on the side of his head. I stun Thrill Rider, forcing him to pull back. Pulling my leg up, I then kick him back, knocking Thrill Rider away and freeing myself. Once I'm free, I grab the gun and chase after Mick.

Thrill Rider:

"Ahh," I moan, holding the left side of my face. Waiting a few seconds for the fires in my burning face to calm down, I push myself up and follow both Vengeance and Mick. Despite both of them being gone from view, I can still hear them very clearly.

Vengeance is firing off a bunch of shots while Mick is too busy screaming and crying. It's like the whole museum is echoing with those two.

"Not exactly the quiet types," I think, "Are they?"

I follow the sound of gunfire out of the hallway and back into the museum. Once back in the museum, I run down a hallway and straight into the dinosaur exhibit. However, just as I'm about to enter the exhibit, Mick stops screaming and Vengeance stops shooting.

I enter the exhibit and all I see is a pitch-black room filled with the silhouette of dinosaurs. I know Mick and Vengeance are in here somewhere, but since neither of them is making a sound, I have no idea where they are exactly. Taking a deep breath, I pull out my batons and walk carefully into the dinosaur's exhibit.

"I'm walking into a pitch-black room filled with dinosaurs. Isn't this a scene from one of the Jurassic Park films? Oh man, I really hope I don't have a hard time watching Jurassic Park after this."

As I walk further into the exhibit, keeping both my guard and my batons up, I twist and turn every time I hear something. I hear some plastic leaves rustling and quickly run toward it. When I reach them, I look up and see a vent right above the leaves. Holding out my hand, I feel a breeze hitting my hand.

"False alarm," I think, "Shoot."

Hearing some leaves rustling again, I raise my batons and look around.

"Is it Vengeance? Or Mick? Or is it the A.C. again? Which one is it?"

I keep my batons up as I follow the rustling leaves. However, I lost track of them almost immediately. The leaves stop rustling and because of the lack of lights, I can't see where they originally were.

"This is bad," the voice in my head says. "This is bad. This is bad. I know this is bad. I don't need you telling me. Please shut up. Geez. You don't have to be so rude about it."

As the voice in my head calls me out, I hear some more rustling leaves and turn. When I turn, I see something coming at me from the plastic bush. Crossing my batons in time, a velociraptor jumps out and lunges at me.

Screaming as I fall back, the velociraptor jumps onto me. While the dinosaur attacks me, I see Mick running out from the plastic bushes.

"Mick," I yell, watching as Mick runs away, disappearing again. "Ahh!"

Looking at the hallway where Mick disappeared, I turn to look back at the velociraptor. Thankfully, this velociraptor isn't like the ones in the movies. It's not opening its mouth, trying to eat me. Also, it's plastic.

"Oh my god," I cry, struggling to push the plastic dinosaur off of me. "How heavy is this thing?"

Having to use both my arms and legs, I finally push the dinosaur off me, the velociraptor sliding off.

"Note to self," I say, pushing myself up. "Do more push-ups."

Turning around, looking at the hallway where Mick disappeared, I chase after him. I have no idea where Vengeance is but if I can get to Mick first, then I'll have the upper hand.

Running down the hallway after Mick, I leave the plastic jungle and run right into the fossil display. Now, instead of being surrounded by plastic bushes and very heavy dinosaurs, I'm surrounded by massive skeletons and ancient remains.

Running to the middle of the room, I slide to a stop in front of the tyrannosaurus rex fossils.

Looking left and right, wondering whether Mick is still running or if he's hiding, I then hear a gunshot. Then another, and another. As I hear the third gunshot, I see Vengeance walking toward me with a smoking gun in his hand.

He fires two more shots, knocking me over. I don't know why but for some reason, I don't scream. I don't even move. All I do is just lay there as Vengeance stands over me.

"Never should have crossed me," Vengeance says. "I thought we could have done something together. I thought we could end the 23rd Gang, and that Tiffiny would finally have peace, but I guess not. I am sorry about this outcome Thrill Rider, but you left me no choice."

Bending down to pick me up, Vengeance holds me in his arms. Even when he does this, I still can't move. It feels like I'm sitting in the front passenger seat of a moving car. All I can do is watch while some driver is taking me somewhere, and in this case, the driver is Vengeance.

I watch as he carries me over the velvet rope and to the T-Rex fossil. Placing me right against one of the legs of the T-rex, my back touching the billions-year-old bone, Vengeance then raises his own leg.

"Rest in peace, Thrill Rider."

Kicking me into the bone, Vengeance turns to run while I fall to the ground. While on the ground, I see dozens, hundreds, maybe even thousands of bones falling. It doesn't take long before the large bones bury me.
