Someday you're going to pick the wrong pocket

Stella stretched as she walked out of the back door with Eddie and Lily.

"Oh my god!!! Great day! Looking forward to a nice bath and food!! Oh my god, food!!!" Stella exclaimed.

Lily chuckled and closed Eddie's mouth with her hand, which was hanging open as he stared at Stella.

Eddie snapped back, "What the hell Lily!!"

And that was enough fuel for the two to go into a sibling banter.

Stella stood to one side and watched with a smile on her face. It was nice to be among normal people once in a while. To be human.

She was much too wrapped up in the supernatural, and she needed to get out, fast.

Stella sighed at this thought. She really had gotten attached to those vampires. More than she meant, or wanted to.

She would be very sad to leave Allen, June and Simon. "And Den too." A little voice whispered in her head.

Yeah Sharp too. Stella had barely had any interaction with Den, but she felt as connected to him as the others, maybe more.

While Stella was deep in her thoughts, she felt a hand slide closer to her jean pocket.

She grabbed hold of that hand and pulled.

"OWWWW!!!!!" an exclamation stopped Eddie and Lily's fight as they looked in Stella's direction.

She was pulling on the hand of a girl of about twelve or thirteen, who was cursing and trying to free herself from Stella's grasp.

Stella pulled her to the front and raised an eyebrow with a mocking smile, "Watch it kid. Someday you're going to pick the wrong pocket."

The girl cursed some more and pulled her hand, which led to Stella tightening her hold and another cry of pain from the girl.

Eddie grabbed the girl's collar and said, "What were you trying to steal? Huh?"

The girl snapped, "Nothing from you. I can tell by a look that you have nothing worth stealing."

Eddie: "..."

Lily: "Puuu!!! I like this kid."

Stella knelt down so that her face was in level with the girl's. "What were you trying to steal?"

The girl scoffed, "I was definitely not stealing hello kitty toys."

Stella scoffed, "You got a nice mouth on you, don't you? Why don't I report you?"

The girl snapped, "Go ahead. The people at the police station basically know me."

Stella raised an eyebrow, "You still haven't answered my question. I'm being civil with you, you should answer politely too. I might come in handy."

The girl eyed Stella up and down and said, "Of course I wanted money."

Stella: "Why?"

The girl laughed, "Are you retarded? Why would anyone want money?"

Stella: "Plenty of reasons. What is yours."

The girl pursued her lips, "I was hungry."

Stella: "What if I can guarantee you free food for three days a week, once a day? Will you stop picking pockets?"

The girl frowned, "Hmm....Nice deal. I'll try."

Stella smiled as she stood up, "That's all I am asking." She turned to go inside the restaurant. Stella turned at the door and said, "Hey kid, what's your name?"

The girl crossed her hands, "I ain't telling you until you give me food."

Stella turned back with a smile and went in.
