The night is already too early for her. Blair's been a challenging ride since she started working, and now, she knew she deserves a break!
"Let's cheers to that!" Blair shouts as she raises her glass of Negroni into the air, as she bangs her head in rhythm with her hands held up high.
"Hey Blair, I think you already have too much to drink. Maybe we should stop here and call it a night?" Her loyal friend Charlotte, who she just met Charlotte started working at their agency.
"Yeah, I think this is enough. We still have a job tomorrow—" her other friend Aaron agreed. Instead, after taking her shot, she scoffs and glares at her two friends, who already stare at her with such worry.
"Oh, come on, guys! We all know that in this job we were hired in, we hardly have time to loosen up because of our dedication to our job!" She opens up. "And one party in three months? Come on, guys! We have to enjoy our time! Yhoo!" She places down her glass of alcohol and about to order another one when Aaron grips her writs and snatches the glass away from her.
"Hey! That's mine!"
"No, not anymore," Blair whines as she pouts at him. Aaron shakes his head as he turns to his shoulder, still not letting go of the glass of alcohol and Blair's wrist.
"Char, could you find us a cab to ride on? I'll try to calm her first, and we'll be there shortly." He pleaded, and she agrees without a single doubt.
"Are you sure you can calm her down yourself? We both know she could be as strong as a man."
"Give it back!" Blair shouts as she tries to reach out for Aaron's hand. Due to his fast reflexes, he managed to stretch his hand away from the drunk woman.
"Yes, I think I can manage. She threw a punch at me before when we try to scare her after she just got back to the city, so maybe this time, I could dodge her." He tries to joke out not to worry Charlotte. This is her first time coming into a bar, and most likely to be her first time drinking with her new friends.
Of all three of them, Charlotte was the one to come to the agency later than Aaron and Blair. The two were childhood friends and got to go to the same college but with the same course, but both ended up working at the same agency.
"Okay, then I'll hail a cab and wait outside. But please call me when things got out of hand?" There's begging in her eyes and concern in her voice, making him just to nod for assurance.
"I'll call you, don't worry too much. We'll be fine here." He nodded. Charlotte rushes her way out of the club as she grips her purse tight into her chest. When Aaron assures that she got out of space at the bar, his attention then turns back to Blair, who is glaring at him.
"What?" He asks, knowing the exact reason for her frown.
"You are such a party pooper; you know that?"
"Oh gosh, Blair. I hope you won't remember this happening to you when you wake up for tomorrow."
"Of course, I won't! I'm great at memorizing sh*ts, and now, I ended up fixing another's mess, and look what it got me? Frustration for a NOT HAPPY ENDING LOVE LIFE! ! Now give me my damn drink!" She hisses, still fighting to get her drink.
"No!" He spat back.
"I said, give it back! That's mine!"
"And as I said, not anymore!" They continue fighting as the others start staring at them. Aaron blushes when their body touches one another, feeling something strange for him.
He's feeling awkward, embarrassed and something different, all together mixed up in one plate. He continues fighting Blair as he whispers in her ear to stop, but then, she didn't.
"Can you just give me this night and my drink to mourn with my feelings!?" She asks that made his look at her with sadness. Blair's face suddenly turns sad and gloomy as well, and by the looks of it, he knew precisely know what she is talking about. He knew the feeling of witnessing something harsh, and it especially makes them feel bad to see how things end up badly.
Blair is a fan of ONCE UPON A TIME, ending up in a HAPPILY EVER AFTER stories, and only Aaron knew about this. What makes them both wonder is that
"Why did you even apply for this job if you couldn't even take the pain? You could just resign, you know." He asks as he places down the glass on the bar counter, as she assists Blair to stand up.
"Psh. Me, resign? Hell no! I would never do that! I earn big in this business—"
"Then would you rather risk your feelings for money?" Aaron asks that made her shut up in the meantime. As if her tongue decided to back out, as the reality slaps her. But then, she knew deep inside that she has her reasons, that only she knew. When Aaron notices how awkward it is already, he decided to clear his throat.
"Okay, you love your job, I get that. That is why you won't risk this night and get fired tomorrow if you continue drinking, okay?"
An idea pops into her head, making her nod in agreement.
"Yeah... Yeah, you're right, Aaron. I love my job, and getting drunk is a bad idea, especially when there's someone at the agency that wanted to steal the spotlight away from me.
"Yeah. They are b*tches, so how about we go now, huh? Sounds like a good idea to you?" He asks as his hand wraps around her waist, her hand sliding to his neck for support.
"Okay, let's get out of here." She responds before receiving a small smile from Aaron.
They directly headed to the exit door, where Charlotte is already waiting for them with the cab she will be calling.
When they reach the exit door, they could already see Charlotte standing as she leans her back into the cab, looking at her phone. Just when Aaron is about to call her name out, his phone vibrates, indicating a call. They stop as Aaron searches for his phone. Taking his phone out from his back pocket, he reads the caller I.D to see one of their co-worker, Davis. He then accepts the call as they continue to walk.
"Hey bro, what's up?" He asks.
[I just want to remind you about the meeting we will be having tomorrow? I already called Char about it, and she said that you three would be attending, but she sounded so worried. I attempt calling Blair, but it went straight to voicemail. I thought you wouldn't answer when I call you, but then, I guess you're okay too.]
"Yeah, something just came up with the best agent we have, and now, I have to babysit her."
[Oohhh! Don't tell me you two are—]
"Hey! Wheres your imagination heading into?"
[Just kidding. But I heard loud music from the background, so I guess you three had gone out and decided to take a few drinks but then, —]
"We did have dinner together, but no, we didn't go to a bar or something. It just happens that the restaurant where we eat is only two blocks away from the bar, and now we are walking since we couldn't find a cab to ride on." He lies, not wanting Davis to think something is wrong.
[Okay. If you say so, just be safe, okay?]
"We will. Thanks, bro."
[See you tomorrow.]
"See you."
The call ended up short as they were already five steps away from where Charlotte stands. Charlotte already sees them as she helps Aaron on carrying Blair.
"Did she passed out already?" Charlotte asks.
"I don't know. I just felt her weight got a bit heavy, so I think she is unconscious." He replies.
Charlotte gets inside first as she sits at the passenger seat, leaving Aaron and Blair in the back seat. The driver starts the engine as they're about to drive when Blair decided to do her plan.
"Lock your doors, people!" She manages to shout like she's still as drunk and unconscious, making them follow her. Just when the driver starts, Blair opens her door and slams it. Her friends were surprised at what she did.
"Blair!"
"Boss, bring them home safe, okay?"
"But—"
"Yes, ma'am."
"But wait!"
Without a second thought, the driver hits the road, leaving Blair standing on the sidewalk. But then, her eyes widen when she sees the taxi stops, as the taillights flicker red. Alarmed, she quickly rushes inside the bar, only to hit her body into someone's back.
"What the—"
