What A Pleasant Surprise [14]

Dave looked out the window of the plane he took. The sky was so dark with the heavy rain crashing through the windows, making the cabin chiller at that time.

He adjusted the blanket which fell onto the floor and wrapped the girl body he really loved. Dave smiled at the face of his lover sleeping soundly, then gently stroked her hair covering some of her face and pulled it behind her ears. He was very grateful given the opportunity to be with Annisa after the kidnapping incident that happened some time ago. Dave lovingly embraced her body warmly and kissed her forehead softly, then let her fall asleep with her beautiful dreams.

The plane carrying Dave, Annisa and Nico had just landed at Mexico City International Airport. Annisa's small hand immediately squeezed Dave's fingers, Dave felt Annisa's anxiety.

"Don't worry, Mi Amor. Everything will be all right." Dave held her fingers tightly to calm his heart down.

The limousine that picked up Dave along with Annisa and Nico entered a large white gate. Annisa glanced at the small park they passed, each side of the road, there were colorful flowers arranged neatly. The limousine then stopped right in front of the magnificent house, like a castle, with white pillars standing upright and firmly on the front. Annisa stared uncomfortably at the beautiful fountain surrounded by red roses, not far from the place the limousine stopped.

Toni and Rosa had waited for three of them at the front door of the house decorated with white wood carvings on each side.

"Welcome back, Brother Dave," said Toni and Rosa who embraced their beloved brother in turn.

"Umm Nisa, this is Toni, my younger brother, and this beautiful little girl is Rosa, my sister." Dave introduced Toni and Rosa to Annisa.

"Hmm. So, this is Annisa who saved my brother's life some time ago. Thank you very much, Nisa." Rosa immediately embraced Annisa tightly, making Annisa slightly surprised.

"Thank you very much, Nisa. We are indebted of gratitude to you." Toni shook Annisa's hand with excitement.

Annisa felt a bit overwhelmed by the warm welcome given by Dave's siblings. Her heart was a bit relieved, but she remained worried.

"Will both Dave's parents accept me?" Annisa entered the room in Dave's house with a sudden panic on her.

"Welcome back home, Mr. Dave." The Moreno family housekeeper greeted Dave respectfully.

"Mr. and Mrs. Moreno have been waiting for you in the main room." The housekeeper delivered a message to Dave, then bowed respectfully and left them.

Dave grabbed Annisa's hand and clasped it tightly, he led Annisa into the living room they called the main room.

There had been Mr. Edward and Mrs. Sarah waiting for them. Sitting side by side on a brown leather sofa, they wore matching clothes to each other. The old brown jacket worn by Edward looked blending with a simple but elegant beige dress that wrapped the body of Mrs. Sarah.

"Good morning, Dad, Mom. This is Annisa, the girl who has saved me, my soul. I can't imagine what I would be without her kindness." Dave introduced Annisa to his parents.

"Hello, I'm Annisa. Nice to meet Mr. Edward and Mrs. Sarah." Annisa stretched out her hand respectfully to shake the hands of Dave's parents.

Mr. Edward and Mrs. Sarah just stared at Annisa with a flat expression without accepting Annisa's hand.

"Please sit down, Annisa, Dave." Mr. Edward told them to sit down right in front of them.

Annisa turned to Dave with a pale face. Dave was stunned by the attitude of his parents showed. It was unusual for those who were commonly friendly with whoever, but they suddenly became unfriendly with Annisa. Dave nodded slowly to have Annisa sit down beside him.

"We are both very grateful to you Annisa for saving our beloved son, Dave. Nothing can match your infinite meritorious kindness." Mr. Edward began the conversation.

"But, you need to know, that long time before you met Dave, we had made a match to our family business partner in Mexico City, Mr. Hierra's family. They are a matching couple because they both have known since childhood, so it will be very easy for them to fit in with each other." Mr. Edward looked at Annisa who was now trying to control herself after hearing the unpleasant news.

"But, Dad ..." Dave tried to interrupt Mr. Edward's words.

Annisa held Dave's hand gently and shook her head at Dave.

"Let me talk this time, Dave."

"I'm so sorry Mr. and Mrs. Moreno. Please allow me to speak this time." Annisa looked at Dave's parents' face interchangeably.

Mr. Edward also nodded and let Annisa to continue her words.

"Dave had told me earlier about the arranged marriage managed between Moreno family and Hierra family. And the marriage between Dave and Adella will be adjusted to be closely related to your family plan in combining the strength of the hotel and transportation business network owned by the two families." Annisa took a breath for a moment before continuing her words.

"Nevertheless, our relationship, me and Dave, is too strong to be separated from each other. We have been through difficult situations and conditions together. We both have proved to be successful in facing all the obstacles happened and passed it well because of the love we have. We can't imagine how our lives will be without each other." Annisa looked back at Mr. Edward and Mrs. Sarah's faces to find their reaction to her explanation.

"Therefore, I came here all the way from Indonesia to Mexico City, encouraging myself to ask the blessing of Mr. Edward and Mrs. Sarah, so that both of you would consider giving us a chance, showing you how much we love each other." Annisa closed her conversation with relief.

The sentences she had prepared beforehand to deal with Dave's parents worked well. Annisa just needed to wait for the result.

"Ms. Annisa, the beautiful lady. We understand how you feel about Dave. But, you can also certainly understand our feelings, as Dave's parents. How we have prepared Dave as the heir to the Moreno family's business throne since the very beginning. We can't let anyone thwart our well-organized plan." Mrs. Sarah spoke up.

"If I may respond to your statement, I don't have anything to support Moreno family business plan in the future. But, I have an infinite love for Dave, in which I'm sure it can make him defendable in any condition. And I will always be beside him to support all his activities." Annisa showed her sincerity for her words.

Mr. Edward's eyes glanced at his wife's eyes. Sarah replied her husband by nodding slowly.

"One thing that you need to know, Nisa. We have recently signed a business cooperation agreement to develop the Moreno family hotel business chain, with a large and reputable family. And as one of the conditions for the incorporation of business forces is that we are willing to accept an engagement plan between Dave and their family's beloved daughter." Mr. Edward grabbed her wife's hand and squeezed it. Mrs. Sarah looked at him for a moment, then looked at Dave, her son, and Annisa, waiting for a reaction from both of them.

Dave rushed forward to the feet of his parents sitting on the couch and kneeling down, begging them to abandon their plans.

"Please cancel the engagement plan, Dad, Mom. What about Annisa? She saved my life twice from Le Coyote family. If there was no Annisa who had sacrificed herself attacked by a hot tin for protecting me, I would be dead by now." Dave spoke in a low voice pleading for his parents to grant his request.

"I'm so sorry, my Son. We can't cancel the cooperation we have agreed with. It's a taboo for Moreno family to break the promises that have been made." Mr. Edward shook his head firmly.

Dave in a very disappointed face immediately got up and pulled Annisa's hand to leave the room immediately. Just before Dave reached the doorknob to open it, his mother's scream held him back and stopped him.

"Dave, wait! Your father hasn't finished talking!"

Mrs. Sarah and Mr. Edward suddenly stood up. There was a sound of footsteps coming from Mr. Edward's office room.

"Where are you going, Dave?"

Dave recognized the voice. Dave and Annisa then turned around.

"Mr. Tjok?" Dave gawked seeing the familiar figure.

Next to Mr. Swastika, there were Mrs. Sukma and her son, Raka, standing.

"Papa?" Annisa was also shocked.

"How did you all get here?" Annisa asked in amazement.

"Papa just finished signing a business cooperation agreement between our family and Moreno family." Mr. Swastika smiled broadly at Annisa who got confused.

"This is the family I meant, Dave. You just can't wait for my explanation before." Mr. Edward laughed a little.

"Congratulations for your engagement plan, Dave. So, from now on, you don't have to be jealous of your future brother-in-law," Raka laughed grinning at Dave.

Dave and Annisa began to realize the real reality at that moment. They both blushed at hearing the unexpected super happy news.
