CHAPTER 19
"I told you about myself studying history right?" Francine pulled some books, magazine and some printed online articles on the table.
"Yes, you told me that before I left to England" Clein nod.
"You see, I met Professor Dun at the university, he was having a conference in our school and recuit some willing students to work with him to the North. Of course I volunteered myself." Francine narrated.
"So he was the one responsible for your sudden transfer huh?" Clein said.
"You know I can't refuse this kind opportunity. What I'm going to tell you is what he's been researching for quite some time now"
" Just make sure you will not get in trouble with it" Clein furrowed. Of course he won't let her besfriend be scammed with some random stanger. The North is a big place.
"Of course not! Professor Dun is well known in our field. He had published few books and some of them were taken as a reference in our classes" Francine defended.
"So what about it?" Clein inquired.
"There's this mysterious group of people called 'oculus' that have been searching something kind of people. It was not proven but according to some research and investigations, this organization 'oculus' was supported by one of the most powerful wealthy individuals throughout the world.
There were very few proofs that this organization truly exist. They're marks were immediately erased as soon as someone will investigate. According to professor Dun, the people they were looking for is the reason why these wealthy people can stay in power for a long time."
"There were few records that they visited schools, hospitals, and even provinces to search for certain people, however such visitation was recorded as a charity event to cover their true motives." Francine continued.
"It seems like they were some kind of a cult to me." Clein commented.
"No, Professor Dun said they do not preach some kind of a religion. He said that the moment they proved that they found someone they are looking for, that man will dissapear into a thin air without trace." Francine said.
"So what exactly they were looking for?" Clein asked.
"That's the problem. According to Professor Dun, there were no pattern in a certain person they were looking. That is why some historian just give up on this research. Other said they were no longer around but Professor Dun believe that they still exist!" Francine exclaimed.
"So did your Professor have any idea what they were looking for?"
"I don't know if you can believe it but professor strongly believe that they were lloking for people who can do extraordinary things"
"Extraordinary? Like magic?" Clein eyes widened.
"Yes and professor said that it has something to do with the future" Francine continued.
"Future? like a prophecy? Are you sure your professor was not crazy?" Clein felt confused. These things can only be found on novels and fantasy dramas and she was really not a big fan of those.
"Of course not! There's this mysterious phone call recorded 25 years ago they were talking about 'The Zellen' this is an old german word for tell or tellers" Clein's got goosebumbs all of a sudden.
"Zellen" Celin mumbled. Clein thought got mess. Why did she suddenly remember her dream?
"Yes the Zellen. I don't know if it's code, but it was the only thing that was clear on the phone call, the rest was a series of nonsense like they purposely made the recording messy and uncomprehensible." Francine took some article that was beinh published online.
"And you believe that they really exist Francine? What if it was just an imagination authored by your professor?" Clein could not really believe that this kind of nonesense can still exists in this modern world.
"Of course! How can I not believe for something that I saw myself?"
"You saw them yourself? how come?" Clein was buffled.
"Remember when we were on last year of gradeschool? You were absent at that time, you forced me to pretend as you in your afternoon class. Since it was just a few days that the class started, the teachers were not yet familiar with their students. Your grades were so important with you and you refused to absent so you asked me to pretend as you and you said that a group of people will visit conducting a survey.
"Wait they were plenty if times I forced you to attend class for my stead. I forgot when was that time."
"Forget it, the most important part was, I was called to perform the survey. I was asked some random questions about school. Of course I forgot about it, it was a long time ago. What I cannot forget is the ring wore by the woman who interviewed me. It has a symbol of an eye. If you focus your eyes on it, its very noticeable. There were four of them at that time and all of them has this symbol either on the ring, bracelet and earings." Francine narrated
"So you could still remember the symbol until now? I don't know you have an excellent memory Francy" Clein chuckled.
"You know I'm very bad at anything except antiques. You know I really love them when I was young. Professor Dun accidentaly fell a peice of paper inserted from his book. I was one who pick it up and there the symbol was printed. You know that I can forget anything in an a second but my memory were only reserve for antiques and history only.
"Professor noticed when I saw the picture. When I said that I seen it before he immediatley drag me on the faculty office with only two of us. When I said that it was a long time ago, he told me to narrate everthing in detail."
"How can you make sure that symbol was the same as the one on your memory? mayne it was just a look a like"
"Of course not! I even pointed out to them that the ring was very beautiful along with the symbol on it I even asked where they bought it from and let my father purchase one for me. You know what happened? I ended up being scolded by the teacher for being disrespectful!" Francine once again xepressed her despleasure!
"So you mean that 'oculus actually came to our school to look for someone?" Clein asked.
"Bingo! Professor said that I had excellent memory of a historian and immediately I got the first seat as one of his assistants. 1st years should not be included on the selection but I got it without sweat. I didn't even have wait for 4 years just to be his assistant." Francine said proudly.
