Chapter 26: Flakes of Snow

All six segments were over.

Finally, the time to be deported had arrived.

"When will the crew gather next time? What kind of film will we shoot?" the female white-collar worker asked the director.

"No comment," the director answered the female employee in a tone devoid of emotion.

"Generally, we gather again after three to five days. As for what film we will shoot next, you'll only find out when you come next time. There are so many newcomers in this crew, so I guess the difficulty won't be too high next time, perhaps eliminating one out of eight," Sunglasses Woman answered for the director.

"Brother, I owe you a favor for saving my life this time. If there's a chance in the future, I will definitely repay you," Gao Fei reached out to Li Teng.

"You're welcome," Li Teng and Gao Fei shook hands.

Although he survived, Li Teng was still not very happy.

Not drawing the 100 points was too uneconomical.

...

After a simple farewell ceremony, everyone entered a bus under the 'escort' of numerous staff members.

The bus drove around the Film and Television City for twenty minutes and arrived at a nearby airport.

There were eight black helicopters parked at the airport.

Different from their arrival, which had dropped Li Teng at a seaside helipad, this time they boarded the helicopters at a unified airport.

Soon, Li Teng found out why.

Before boarding the helicopter, everyone had to pass through security checks where they underwent extremely strict inspections; apart from the clothes on their bodies, no other items were allowed on the helicopter.

The clothing like shirts, pants, socks, and shoes weren't allowed in quantities exceeding personal normal needs; clothes sold in Film and Television City lacked things like belts or cords, and the shoes were laceless, possibly to prevent them from using the clothes to make ropes and climbing down from the pillars.

Even the cell phone of Sunglasses Woman was confiscated and temporarily stored by the staff in an airport locker.

After waving to each other, Li Teng, Gao Fei, and the others boarded their respective helicopters.

After everyone entered, the helicopter doors were closed.

Like on the way there, the cabin was pitch black, and nothing was visible.

"Being an extra but getting transported by a personal helicopter, the perks are really not bad," Li Teng sighed deeply.

After a while, he thought of something and groped around the cabin, finding that box from their arrival.

Unfortunately, the box was empty, containing nothing.

It seemed that only when returning to the Film and Television City did the helicopter box provide a small amount of food and water.

There was none on the return trip.

Sitting idle in the darkness, Li Teng lay down in the cabin after a while.

Possibly from exhaustion or some other reason, Li Teng soon fell asleep.

...

It was unclear how much time had passed.

Li Teng was awoken by a gust of cold air, with music sounding near his ears, coming from an unknown source.

Upon awakening, Li Teng suddenly realized where he was.

The helicopter had returned him to the top of the pillar.

The music was coming from the helicopter's cabin roof, specially designed to wake him up.

The helicopter's door opened, and the cold air blew in from outside.

Along with the cold breeze, snowflakes also drifted in.

The sky outside was nearly dark.

Seeing the snowflakes still scattering outside the cabin, and the extremely narrow pillar top below a thousand meters, as well as the thick snow accumulated on his old bed on top of the pillar, Li Teng was immediately overwhelmed by emotions of fear and despair.

Climbing down from the shaky helicopter's rope ladder back to the narrow pillar top was a very challenging task.

Not to mention, how to survive this night was another problem.

The snow was still falling.
