I was really too tired.
So tired that I had forgotten about fear.
It wasn't just exhaustion, but also thirst and hunger gripped me.
However, thirst and hunger couldn't be satiated, and eventually, fatigue took precedence, and we slowly fell asleep leaning on each other.
I don't know how much time had passed.
A loud explosion startled everyone from their deep sleep.
Somethings scattered and fell on the sandy ground, making a rustling sound.
In the distance, lightning flashed and thunder boomed, and the gathering storm clouds were visibly being pushed by strong winds towards us.
What was now falling on the sandy ground were the scattered raindrops from the storm clouds that had passed overhead earlier.
We quickly stretched out our hands trying to catch some of the raindrops to drink and dab on our lips.
There were only a few raindrops, all carrying the pungent smell of sand and soil on our hands.
Fortunately, half a minute later, the storm clouds had come directly above us.
