A Difficult Journey Ahead

Luke and Melinda walked down the stairs of Mr. Tim property and started to walk towards the end of his street under the moonlit sky. Looking up into the sky, Luke could see the stars as they shine brightly giving the sky a twinkling effect.

They had arrived at the end of the street and turned on the main street heading west eventually arriving at the ice - cream stop that was surprisingly still open at this time of the night.

My treat, Luke joked pointing to the ice -cream shop.

Sure, Melinda answered and they entered the ice cream shop. Luke pushed open the door allowing Melinda to enter first and then he followed behind as they walked to the display counter.

Behind the glass counter was an assortment of various colors of ice - cream. Strawberry Ripple. Mango Tangerine. Green Vanilla, Stork Craving Madness and a host of other flavors.

Melinda ordered the Chocolate Dark flavor with strawberry sprinkles and Luke ordered the Regular Vanilla with chocolate sprinkles. After taking the ice - cream, they left the store and headed outside.

Melinda and Luke sat under the street light looking at the world as it exists when the sun had turned in for the day. The night was totally different in the town of Scarbridge with a new set of life being awakened.

I can't help but wonder, Luke stated breaking the silence, what if these other gems has fallen into the hands of someone evil. How would we stop them, without knowing what magical abilities the gem has bestow upon them.

We do know that the first two are in good hands, Melinda responded with surety so with the two of us, we should be able to handle someone or anyone who may intend to abuse the magic of the other gems.

Luke looked at her as she smiled. Her smile seemed so perfect… Too perfect as if she had practiced it many times. The words of Tim resonated in Luke's mind.

'She is fragile and if she breaks, she would lose herself!'

I am glad that there is a friendly face with me on what might seem like a difficult journey ahead, Luke stated. I do believe though that we will persevere through this, together.

After a couple of yawns, he said it is getting late so they both said their goodbyes, exchanged phone numbers and headed home to await the weekend.
