Five years have passed since the arrival in China. Tiger has been taken in by Chan master Song Li at the Shaolin Temple. Every day, Tiger has been learning to perfect the martial arts of kung fu.
"Good job for today Hu." Sensei Jing. Tiger lays fumbling on the ground. "Five more minutes please." Tiger groans in manderin. "Come on Hu, we gotta get ready for breakfast." Sensei Jing argues. Tiger gets up, bows, and bows yet again as he leaves the floor.
"Hu, Sensei Jing has told me that you are improving greatly, you could be a blackbelt in no time." Song Li, "Yes, however there's something off about you Hu." Sensei Jing points to Tiger. Tiger stops eating. "Hu, answer truthfully, are you human?" Song Li asks. "And what makes me so inhumane?" Tiger quickly answers sipping on his tea. "Then explain why your hair and eyes always smoke when you get mad?" Sensei Jing protests. "Smoke? Never noticed it, you two must be seeing things." Tiger fires back, "Thank you for the meal." Tiger gets up and bows. "That boy's hiding something, and I don't like it one bit." Song Li says once Tiger leaves the room.
A few months ago, Tiger stumbled upon a witch who gave him a spell book to study. Tiger heads to his room and opens the book, he is currently learning teleportation. He takes a breath and focuses on his location, he starts chanting in Latin. Something is happening, but the spell fails. "Come on Tiger, you can do this." Tiger whispers motivation. He closes his eyes, imagines himself in the place he'd wish to teleport, poof. He's gone from the spot he was at and is now at the opposite side of the room. "I DID IT!" Tiger jumps in excitement. He tries the spell 5 more times until he can do it as quickly as his instincts.
"Impressive." Sensei Jing compliments. Shocked, Tiger teleports behind Sensei Jing pushing him against the wall. "How much did you see?" Tigers pupils desolate like a cat. "First of all." Sensei Jing reverses roles, now Tigers against the wall. "Don't you ever disrespect me like that ever again, secondly, I just came in, third, what are you?" Sensei Jing increases his strength. Tiger growls, "You're clearly not human, a human doesn't growl, or have instincts as you. Tiger Maxwell what the hell are you?" Sensei Jing interrogates. "Fine, we'll just throw you in prison until you confess. Guards!" Sensei Jing teases. Tiger switches rolles covering Sensei's mouth and up against the wall. Tiger sighs, "You'll just have to see for yourself." He lets go of Sensei Jing, "I'm going to Germany in 6 months, there's a great threat on the rise. I need to protect the once in trouble." Tiger leans back, closing his eyes. "And what threat is that?" Sensei Jing sits on the bed near Tiger. Silence once again. "Get up, we got to train you to defend the people in danger, but I need to know the strength that you're hiding. You need to learn to control that heat." Sensei Jing gets up and closes the door behind him. Something seems fishy about Sensei Jing. That isn't Sensei Jing, nor Song Li. It's time to run once more for Tiger.
Tiger puts on his mother's necklace, packs his back and escapes through the window. He buries his claws in the wall steading his fall for less impact. "Tiger? TIGER!" Sensei Jing yells. These people are fast on foot, so Tiger hides behind a wall, strips down and stuffs the clothes in his bag. Tiger starts transforming into a jaguar. "Hey Tiger, why the run, you know we aren't a threat." Sensei Jing creaks up by the wall. "Hey Sensei Jing, remember when I told you that you'd have to see for yourself." Tiger teleports behind Jing scratching the face with his claws. A smirk appears on the jaguar. Ningas come running up to Tiger, as he runs off as fast as fire can spread. He bumps into a dead end. The ninjas are about to catch up, Tiger has no choice but to fight. He transfers back into his human form, appearing pants at his legs. Tiger gets ready in a fighting stance. "Be Careful, he's stronger than his age." Sensei Jing warns the Ninjas. Suddenly Tiger disappears. The Ninjas are clueless. "BEHIND YOU!" Sensei Jing springs into actions. Tiger falls onto Jings shoulders grabbing his machete, decapitating him. The ninjas back up in astoundment. Tiger gets up from Jing and simply walks away. Strangely enough that wasn't Sensei Jing. Before leaving the temple, Tiger starts to sniff out Sensei's stench. His stench often smells of green tea. Tiger go's searching within the blind spots of the temple until he reaches the dungeons. Tiger beats up the guards and runsup towards sensei Jing. "TIGER!" Jing calls in relief. "Shut up, I'm getting you out of here." Tiger whispers. "Well, well, well, looks like you found Jing." Song Li slowly claps. Tiger doesn't turn around, "Heh, you know I hate liars Song Li." A smile of bravery appears. "You humans are such fools." Tiger disappears, ripping Song Li's face in half. Both Tiger and Jing stand still. A chuckle bursts, and turns into laughter. "T-t-tiger?" Jing backs up, "Chan Master!" A ninja comes running in, but Tiger has disappeared from the temple one last time.
Appearing at the docks, Tiger sneaks into a crate of a boat heading towards France.
