Chapter 6

Kayden watched as it was getting late the night or more into the early morning hours but still didn't see Madeleine anywhere.

He exhaled as he saw how Benjamin came out immediately going towards him.

"This is the longest she's been gone. I'm starting to worry," Ben said.

"So am I. What happened in that house?" Kayden asked.

"My father was busy telling her about something when she stormed out of the house yelling me instead of our mother it should have been her who died. She hasn't come back yet. I hate not knowing what is..." Ben said seeing his father coming out of the house with a light.

"Dad go inside. It's freezing out here and don't have the same argument with me which I..."

"Madeleine is just a child, Benjamin. We need to take care of her," Robert said and Kayden looked around as there was a horse.

"Come, Star. Ben take your father inside. I'll make sure that Madeleine is brought home safe," Kayden said as he was off.

"Let's go, Dad," Ben said.

"Why do you and your sister constantly have to argue?"

"Let's go inside," Ben said opening the door.

Kayden exhaled as he was probably 3 miles away from the ranch by now but still didn't see Madeleine.

Wondering if it was anything he said it was eating on him.

He shook his head as he saw how a horse was aside in the field with a girl along its side exhaling.

"It's okay, Buddy. It's okay," Madeleine said while exhaling at the mess she found herself in before she sat down on a rock.

"You had me worried," Kayden said giving Madeleine a fright.

"Good grieve, Kayden. Don't sneak up on me like that," Maddie said.

"Are you okay? Ben is very worried about you," Kayden said jumping off of the horse.

"I'm fine," Maddie said as Kayden threw a blanket over her shoulders.

"Talk to me. What's going on?"

Madeleine exhaled trying to stop the tears from potentially running over her cheeks as she leaned forward.

She didn't know what to do nor did she think she had everything under control but all she really wanted to do was to figure out how to go forward.

"I don't know," Maddie managed to get out.

"I don't know what is going on. I just don't want my family to fall apart," Maddie said.

"Let's go."
