CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR: THE ANNIVERSARY 2

Melissa was returning from visiting the gent. As she was about to leave she heard a male voice calling her name. She was surprised because this rest room was reserve for her alone. When she saw the guy, it turned out to be Chris. Wow she couldn't even recognise his voice.

"Chris" she called with disgust. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a strict voice.

She looked at him and saw that he was not the guy he knew before. He looked wane and his fave was not as attractive.

"Please let's talk" he pleaded.

"No not interested" she said and start to walk away.

Chris touched her lightly.

"What! I said no" she turned to yell at him.

"I'm begging you. Just spare me a minute" he pleaded gauntly.

"I'm listening" she said insipidly.

"I know you do hate me and I also know I worth more. I'm deeply sorry for all I did and I've learnt my great lesson Melissa. It would never repeat itself" he said in remorse.

Melissa knew this his what he came for.

"As you know I'm not someone who holds grudge for a long time. If it is forgiveness you are seeking for, I've already given it and forgotten about the whole issue" she said and tried to avert.

Chris pulled her hand which she jacked away immediately.

"What the heck is wrong with you?" She yowled.

"You Melissa you. I've realised that everything I did was to wrong myself. I can't just live my life without you. I'm running crazy"

Drew who wanted to give Melissa a scare stood at a corner to hide but saw Chris talking to her. He didn't even know when he walked out of where he stood.

"They can't even talk in an open place again?" He chuckled.

Chris who saw Drew watching them intensified his words. Melissa didn't know what made Chris increase his voice but she didn't care. She just want him to say what he wants and move.

"I'm really really sorry but I'll be more sorry for this" as he said that he moved closer and kissed her.

Melissa was so shocked that she want to move away but Chris held her tightly that she couldn't break free.

Drew got the urge to go pull Melissa away from him but he restrained himself. He was smothering the anger building inside him.

Melissa broke free from him. "Are you out of your mind?" She shouted panting.

"Yes I am for you" he replied without shame.

"You really gone crazy" she shouted.

She really hated his touch.

"Yes I am for you" he was looking at Drew.

Melissa turned to see what he was looking at then she realised it was Drew.

"Oh no" she said in horror. "Get out of my sight before I loose the rest of my gentle self" she said amist gritted teeth.

"See you later" he said and walked away.

When Chris left, Drew turned to leave.

"Aish he is angry" Melissa said to herself. "Drew" she called softly.

Drew stopped but didn't look back.

"It's not what you think" she said softly.

"What am I thinking?" He asked with a gruff voice.

"I didn't know why I waited to hear his stupid bluff" she said in regret and anger.

"Your reason is best known to you" he said and turned to face her.

His looks was so cold that Melissa almost froze.

"Drew believe me. It is not what you think. I didn't know he would kiss me" she rushed out her words.

"What I think is not important because I don't own you. It is your life, you can decide to do anything with it" he said with a plain unfriendly voice and averted.

Melissa felt so dejected. She was really shaking with sorrow that tears rushed to vliaten her blue eyes.

"Why is he like this?" She soliloquize.

Drew noticed that she didn't say a word or follow him to explain more, it was then he knew he was too harsh on her. He turned to look at her still standing on same spot. Melissa tried to hide her tears from him but he was fast enough to see her tears. He walked to her and held her.

"Oh dear why the tears" he said softly into her ears.

This was suppose to soothe her but it made more tears flow.

"You are ruining your beautiful makeup" he said touching her cheek.

Melissa didn't know that Drew's words could hit her that hard. Now she begin to doubt her feelings for him. Isn't this a sign of love? She quickly shook her head to clear the thought away.

"I didn't mean to be harsh" he drew her closer holding her with his chest.

"You sounded like I'm lying to you" she said with a shaky voice.

"And you just sounded like my girlfriend" he smiled.

She looked at him with her upper eyes.

He felt like he should hold her forever but he knew something has to be done before that could happen.

"Are you angry?" She asked like a pampered child.

"No I'm not. I believe you" she braced her hair.

"Is it bad?" She asked easing herself from his hand.

"What?"

"My makeup?"

"Not too bad. Few adjustment will do. Did you come with any of your makeup?"

Melissa nods

"Then fix it".

"But I can't move out like this?"

"Give someone a call?"

"I didn't bring my phone. Give me yours" she requested.

"It's with David"

"What am I going to do?" She said softly.

"I don't know look for one" knowing what she's trying to do.

"Go inside and bring it for me" she said authoritatively.

Drew snorted and laughed. "What an effrontery" he said.

"Please just on in and send one of your guys to tell my sisters to bring it" she said.

"Better" he said and averted.

"What a proud guy" she murmured.

"I heard that" he called back and she laughed.

As Drew got back to the party, he immediately was face with someone.

"Hello Drew" she said smiling.

Drew was surprised to see her.
