Night Snack

Kenneth. That was the name of the man in the black and red sweater

This tale of him started on a cold night during a full moon, lighting up the darkness surrounding the town. As he walked the streets, the hardness of the concrete was inevitable for his feet to sense it. In his mind, he was walking on flat condensed rocks.

His arms were silent in their place, not the same as his feet taking steps left and right simultaneously.

A smile was on his face, and people who passed by him saw this with odd looks on their face.

"Why is he smiling?"

"Why is he even out at this time?"

"Who or what made him get out?"

It's safe to say that the people around this area knew Kenneth, who he was here and what he was like on a daily basis, but Kenneth turned a blind eye to them.

He entered a fast food restaurant. A McDonald's to be more exact. His skin could sense the brightness of the large sign and the surrounding lights outside the place. This country had many branches of the American fast food chain and that kind of food was considered foreign here, but Kenneth didn't mind. All he wanted to do now was to satisfy his grumbling stomach.

"Be patient." Kenneth said looking down at his abdomen before facing the entry of the McDonald's.

As the door opened, he could hear the chattering eyes were on him. That sweater of his stood out in terms of color. Some were looking at him as they were eating. One man, fat as ever, had his jaw drop to the ground.

"But how." a girl whispered to her friends as Kenneth looked at them. They waved nervously even after he replied with a kind smile.

"Good evening." said the young cashier at the counter. He stopped as he looked at Kenneth. The cashier looked at the man's clothes, before surveying his face. "Oh." was the only reply at of the cashier.

"I'd like the usual."

The cashier nodded as he punched Kenneth's order into the machine. "Just the usual, nothing else?" He asked as Kenneth nodded once more. "A burger and fries!" he yelled out to his co workers. The cashier handed Kenneth's order once it was done. "Here you go Sir. Thank you."

"Thank you." Kenneth said as he took his paper bag filled with his order, and left the restaurant. Everyone but the cashier looked in bewilderment.

"Dude." one of the staff members managing the fries approached the cashier. "Did you see that man? He had his eyes closed the entire time!"

"Mr. Kenneth Barks?"

"Wait? You know him?" the staff member asked. "As in, literally know him?" As the cashier nodded. The staff member exclaimed. "Dude, that man just now was sleepwalking! He even ordered his "usual" in his sleep! You're like the only one here that wasn't surprised."

"Mr. Barks is my neighbor, and has been like that the last few days. I was worried at first, but he reassured me everything would be just fine." the cashier smiled.

The staff member looked him with a raised eyebrow. He can't comprehend what just happened since he's been working all day. "You're weird you know that?"

The cashier smiled. "I know. Best you accept it, just like how I accept Mr. Barks' sleepwalking routine"
