Slap Jack Pancakes

I've only been here for a few days, but already I'm starting to feel that something's odd going about.

When I had first drove here, I didn't really had any assumptions about Storm Falls based on the name. I often conceived it as the average small American town of the south, where the majority of people live among a society where social interaction matters, and not just staring at some screen for the vast majority of your days.

The fact that many people were outside wasn't the issue, it was what the current talk was.

"Have you heard about the Electric Bungalow?"

"The Bungalow speaks again with another Occurence."

"Has the Bungalow chosen another Citizen to go through its actions?"

I had no idea what they were talking about, let alone an electric bungalow. A bungalow filled with electricity perhaps? The people's odd behaviour became the focus of my thinking process, until it was rudely disturbed by the grumbling of my stomach. Looking at my watch, it was going to be noon, and I had not had breakfast yet.

Silly me. I suppose I'll be getting brunch instead.

Entering a 1950s esque diner, I didn't waste time on ordering some flapjack pancakes. I certainly was surprised by the time I eventually got the plate filled with my order.

"Don't rush eating it just because you're hungry." the waitress called out before she went back to take a patron's order.

I gave a small smile to her as I grabbed my knife and fork, before I munched down on one piece of it. I cloed my eyes soaking in the smooth surface of the pancake and the sweetness of the syrup, just smeared down on it.

I couldn't contain myself. My eyes turned to the second pancake, which rose then proceeded to slap me with its circular edges.

"You heard what the waitress said!" the pancake exclaimed. "Don't rush it."

I slapped the pancake back. It jumped at my face as I fell down to the ground. As though I was being smothered, it latched onto my face until I began banging my face against the floor, enabling screams from the pancake, before it let go and fell onto the floor.

I took care of this pancake by biting it, each of the pieces before swallowing it.

"Sorry about that." said the waitress. "Forgot to tell you how stingy the pancakes be when a customer eats in a gluttonous way. Take your time eating sir."

Flapjack pancakes? More like Slap Jack pancakes.
