Chapter 47: Trial of battle (V)

Shido recognised both heroes. The former was known on the internet as the hero who controls blood. His title has already made him particularly famous, not to mention his abilities.

The latter however, had lost his legs in the line of duty, and uses replacement prosthetics. He was known as a hero who could clone himself, allowing him to save many more people at once.

Just then, a sound containing a growl came from behind Shido.

"He's too fugitive during a fight. He left me behind when he started to run towards the seventh floor."

Shido immediately turned towards the wall, only now did He notice that the hand that had popped there was not gone because he was distracted by the appearance of the two heroes.

"3v1? No problem..."

Shido immediately sprinted towards Vlad King and Ectoplasm because these two heroes gave off a less dangerous air than the hero behind him, but it did not mean that it would be any easier.

Vlad King and Ectoplasm, seeing that Shido made a sprint in their direction, immediately countered.

Vlad King placed his hand on the ground, and a pool of blood appeared from his glove, forming several spikes high enough almost to cover the full height of the floor.

Right at that moment, before he could turn away, he was suddenly hit by Ectoplasm's clone, who had bent over due to the force behind Shido's kick. Although Vlad King wasn't injured, his concentration was broken momentarily, canceling the previously made blood spines.

But soon after he recovered from the impact, he looked ahead and noticed Shido with his back open who, in the meantime, turned his head, dodging the fist of Hound Dog.

In this way, bringing his hand in front of his body, he formed a spear without a tip, made entirely of blood, and then launched it towards Shido.

While the hero launched his spear, Shido was focused on dodging the hits of Hound Dog, counterattacking between one punch and the other.

Suddenly, Shido felt a slight movement of air behind her and immediately jumped, dodging the punch of Hound Dog.

Afterwards, he kicked the hero on the shoulder so as to propel himself further upwards, dodging the encircling of Ectoplasm clones and at the same time, lowered Hound Dog's body slightly to let Vlad King's attack hit him.

Like this, the spear of blood ended right in the stomach of Hound Dog, making a "Urgh" sound escape from his lips, proving that the attack of the hero in red was effective.

Seeing that Hound Dog had a moment of pause from the blow, Shido immediately followed up with a kick on his side, similar to what the hero did to him before, and sent Hound Dog in the direction of Vlad King, who remained quite shocked that his attack had hit his partner instead of Shido.

But soon after Vlad King had recovered from his shock, and grabbed his partner.

"Thanks." Hound Dog said to Vlad King before turning back to Shido with an even more ferocious look.

"What is it?" Shido looked at the hero and said with a smile,"Sorry that you were hit in the same way? Though you never actually managed to touch me."

He did not respond to Shido's taunt. Instead, he asked Shido,"Were you holding back earlier?"

Shido just smiled and replied to him,"I'm always holding back, even during my fight against All Might."

But somehow, his smile just seemed lonely.

Hearing Shido, the hero immediately felt pissed, but later turned to shock at the second part of his sentence.

Vlad King looked at him with a similar shocked expression, but seeing that nobody was going to attack, he too stood still.

But then, Hound Dog made a sudden sprint in the direction of the girl. Shido saw his actions and made a jump backwards, but he immediately felt eight clones of Ectoplasm behind him, all aiming a kick at him.

He was left with no choice and quickly flew upwards, dodging the attacks from both heroes before floating back down to the ground.

Just at that moment, Hound Dog, when he landed, he bent his body, placing his hands on the ground, giving himself an even greater thrust than the previous one.

"Hound Sprint."

In less than half a second, the hero arrived in front of Shido with a punch ready.

Shido was about to dodge to the side, when he realised that his feet were trapped by blood. Shido didn't expect this sudden entrapment, thus ended up being punched in the stomach.

This time, however, Shido felt the blow, thus opening his eyes, he got sent flying, ending up hitting the wall, destroying it on contact.

Seeing Hound Dog's attack which Vlad King did not expect it in the least, he asked with a worried tone,"Weren't you too heavy on the child?"

Hearing his companion, Hound Dog smiled. Even if this smile couldn't be seen because of the mask that he wears to cover the muzzle, he said,"A little bit, probably. But you need to know that he took my hit with almost ninety percent of my strength without taking any damage. Even if he had the shield-like thing just now, I trust that he can survive this."

Shido, after being hit by Hound Dog's fist, stood still on the ground for a few seconds before shrugging off the various pieces of the wall that ended up on him. His body was naturally stronger than others' so even if the kick was strong, it wasn't strong to the point where he could break a bone with just one kick.

"Don't you go easy on kids?" Yoshinon said provocatively in the direction of the canine hero.

Hound Dog laughed at his words and said,"Humph! I would go easy, but you're not a normal kid so I'm allowed to use all my strength." After laughing, he looked at Shido once more and said,"Get ready."

Shido smiled at the words of the hero, and decided to start using his quirk.

"Zafkiel."

At his words, his quirk, who first made its appearance before on the plaza, now has made it again in front of his opponents.

When the ancient clock appeared, all three heroes were amazed, but when the two firearms appeared in Shido's hands, they kept themselves ready for any eventuality.

Firearms that appeared from a quirk are usually very dangerous since they almost have a hundred percent chance of having special effects and powers.

Shido smiled at the defensive actions of the heroes, then moved his left arm to the Roman number one.

[A/N: At this point, I'm not going to keep mentioning Yoshinon on his left hand. Just take it that Yoshinon is holding the gun and using it for Shido.]

"Aleph."

A black smoke then appeared from the number and entered the pistol. Shido then proceeded to point the flintlock pistol at her temple.

The heroes watched Shido aim the gun on his temple and exclaimed,"Stop!"

However, what they heard was only a gunshot sound, so they both made an attempt to reach Shido as fast as possible.

But just then, Shido, who was supposed to be falling on the ground according to the heroes' logic, suddenly disappeared from their sight.

Soon after, all three of them felt a hit on their chest, and without being able to understand what had happened, they found themselves lying on the ground with Shido standing with a smile looking at them.

"Shido-san, are you okay?" They exclaimed while looking at Shido with wide eyes.

"You guys are really not suited to be villains. What kind of villains ask heroes if they were okay? But thank you for your concern, I'm fine." Shido found it quite nice for people to worry about him, even if they were much weaker than himself and on the opposite side.

Hearing Shido's words, the three heroes sighed with relief after ensuring that he wasn't injured.

Shido was in a dilemma and wondered if he should attack them now. They were still currently on the ground looking at him with a look full of relief, but this time together with a cautious look.

They understood the situation, the bullet that Shido shot himself with had increased his speed, and in a dizzying way at that.

Hound Dog could not even react to that before finding himself on the ground, not to mention the fact that he had more refined senses than a normal human, the same goes for his hearing and sense of smell.

This goes to show how fast Shido was when he hit them.

And that is the reason why the heroes were now looking at Shido like he was their biggest enemy they had ever faced (which was technically true since Shido is the strongest in the world if he goes all out).

Noticing that the heroes had stood up and gotten ready, he smiled and disappeared from their sight once more. Like this, the three heroes had flown backwards again.

And without even landing, they were hit for the third time.

Seeing that the situation had gotten more and more dangerous, Vlad King immediately used his quirk and created blood thorns around all three of them.

But before he could turn to his companions and ask them how to counter this situation, he felt a hit by a handle of a weapon on his stomach. This blow made him bend in pain, opening his eyes as wide as he could.

Then, with difficulty, he immediately pressed a thing close to his ear with his hand, and shouted,"Midnight! Use your quirks together and scatter it around the seventh and eighth floor! Cementoss! Use your quirk to build a wall that can separate the Shido from us!"

Shido obviously heard Vlad King's instructions and stopped for a second. He looked around him and realised that the building was made entirely of cement, which wasn't good for him. Midnight was someone he needed to pay attention to. Her quirk could actually cause him to fall asleep if he wasn't careful enough.

"Haniel!"

Changing the entire building's structure, he replaced all cemented parts into strong, durable chocolate bars. Not the best replacement, but it was sweet to taste, and one of Shido's personal favourites.

"Hey Vlad King! I can't shape the building anymore! It's been transformed into candies and sweets!"

But just as the voice rang out from Vlad King's earpiece, a purple cloud filled the room where Shido and the three other heroes were.

If there was one thing that the energy shield couldn't block, it would be smell. Thus, he didn't even bother trying to stop the gas from surrounding him and just held his breath. He could use Raphael and blow the gas away, but then, it wouldn't be a challenge and Shido would not appreciate it.

[A/N: This is just me giving excuses as to why Shido won't use everything. He is literally overpowered, so if he doesn't limit himself, where would the fun be in living a boring life?]

Seeing the three heroes wearing gas masks, Shido understood that they had prepared for almost any possibilities. Their five-man composition was perfect for any sort of situation.

A fighter with excellent physical and observation skills like smell and hearing.

A fighter with the ability to have an effect on crowd control.

A fighter who could clone himself to support and help others in both defence and offense.

A support who could shape the terrain and especially excels in changing the environment to suit their needs.

And another support who can make an entire area immobile thanks to her quirk.

Now, the problem is that Aleph's effect was over. Because Shido used his pistol instead of musket, he didn't spend too much time on Aleph to begin with.

Now, he must be very careful not to breathe in this gas and not fight unnecessarily with the three heroes so as to not waste oxygen.

Furthermore, the purple gas had made the environment unseeable and not smellable. This was more of an advantage of Shido since it would be able to hinder Hound Dog and greatly suppress his quirk.

The heroes, seeing Shido holding his breath, immediately sprinted in his direction. This is because they understood that once they manage to force Shido into consuming oxygen and making him breathe several times, the victory is theirs.

The gas which Midnight produces has an almost instantaneous effect on males. So once Shido even breathes it in a little, they (the villains) would win.

Shido understood what they were trying to do. But completing it and planning it was two different things, and Shido didn't plan to lose today.

"Zafkiel."

Once again, the clock was summoned and he aimed the pistol at the Roman number one.

"Aleph."

The moment the heroes saw his quirk, they immediately dashed towards him before he could accelerate again. The distance wasn't small, but in any case, they almost reached Shido within two seconds.

However, they were bound to be disappointed as Shido managed to shoot himself before disappearing from their sight once again.

He knew that without any dangerous and life-threatening weapons, he would not be able to put them out of the game in the shortest amount of time. Thus, instead of aiming a punch at them, he decided to tear off their gas masks, letting them inhale the sleeping gas before rushing off towards where the hostages were held.

Over there, he found Midnight observing the door with a whip in her hands. Without a second of hesitation, he ran behind her and knocked her out before she noticed anything.

After all the heroes were out of play, except Cementoss since he remained outside of the building, he then looked at the two heroes who disguised themselves as civilians on the ground. In fact, they were also knocked unconscious because of the gas released by Midnight. Therefore, Shido just placed the both of them into his shadows before disappearing himself, but not before collecting all the bodies of the heroes.

He used one of the gas masks that he had stolen and casually strolled down to the ground floor, where the rest of the heroes were waiting.
