I will break my chains of Fate

Gu Yue Guangzhi was very disappointed with his life. After he was transmigrated to the world of Reverend Insanity, he had a deep retrospection into his life on Earth and he was ashamed of his behavior. He decided to mend his ways and become a decent human being once again, like he once was on Earth. Coming from a modern society, he had an innate dislike towards slavery so he treated them like anyone else with kindness. But now, he tried to help the storekeeper when he was being bullied by an arrogant young master, he was beaten down. The owner walked in and eventually stopped his son but didn't even offer a shred of sympathy. The head clerk even seems to be delighted by this little drama.

Back on Earth, one day when he was walking towards his school, he saw a group of gangster wannabes harassing an elderly waiter for messing up their order. He walked to them and helped the elderly waiter. The leader of the group was pissed off about someone butting in and ruining his fun. So the leader decided to pick on the him instead. He was an athletic kid in school so he fought back but the group ganged up on him and did him dirty. They beat him up, took embarrassing pictures of him and forwarded them to all of his contacts. All his peers laughed at him and made fun of him for trying to be a hero. He gradually became a recluse and later an online troll.

Now the same thing was happening again. He thought that he left his old world behind but the same things were happening in this world again? In this world, filled with all kinds of mysterious gu, isn't there a Justice Gu some where in this world? Why must he face ridicule and mockery for trying to do the right thing? Or was there a Fate Gu that made people have a pre-defined way of life? Does that mean he would become a recluse again and amount to nothing in this life as well? No! He absolutely couldn't let that happen. He had made a resolute decision to become a better person. He pinned all his hopes on the aperture awakening ceremony six years from now. He had to endure for now. He swallowed his tears and went back to work.

A few days later, on his pay day, he was making his way back home. He was given extra work that day by the head clerk and had to go home late. He had moved to a remote part of the village to save up on his rent. The streets were lonely and he was obstructed by a few masked strangers. Gu Yue Guangzhi got scared. Though he hadn't heard of muggings in his village and the security was decent, he was scared given the size of his opponents. He wanted to throw away the money he earned and make a run for his life but a hungry stomach filled him with some courage.

He raised his voice and asked them to make way for him but before he could complete his sentence, he was punched in the stomach. His feeble body flew a few feet before landing. His opponents didn't plan to give him a rest. One of them kicked him on the nape of his neck but he hurriedly defended with his hands. The leader of the attackers pulled his subordinate back and started punching Gu Yue Guangzhi. The viciousness in the last attack wasn't present but the leader controlled his punches to inflict the highest amount of pain. Gu Yue Guangzhi tried his best to defend himself but that only adding more fun to the attackers.

The attackers would deliberately stop their punches mid air to intimidate Gu Yue Guangzhi and enjoy the look on his face, only to punch him a moment later. This ruckus initially was silent but later two nearby guards were attracted to it. The attackers noticed the approaching guards and ran away after throwing a small bag with 20 primeval stones towards them. The guards were initially surprised but then decided to stop giving chase.

When they looked at the Gu Yue Guangzhi, they understood what had happened. Those group of attackers were probably gu masters venting their anger on this half blood kid for some reason. They observed him and after noting that there were no injuries made by gu insects, left a sigh of relief. Using the power of a gu to beat up a member of the clan who hadn't even awoken his aperture was a serious offense in the clan. This rule was imposed to save the younger generations from the outbursts of gu masters. Twenty primeval stones would in no way compensate to overlook that offense but a physical fight with no major injuries was another matter.

They picked up the kid, dusted him off and told him not to pick fights with strangers. Gu Yue Guangzhi was shocked but soon realized that corruption was present in any world. Usually the clan takes care of healing the victims in such fights but since the guards wanted to cover up this matter, they placed a primeval stone in Gu Yue Guangzhi's hands and told him to get himself healed. Then they left as if nothing had happened.

Gu Yue Guangzhi picked himself up and reached his home. He went to work the next day after applying some home made remedies. Seeing him all beaten up, the head clerk started to smile from the corner of his lips. Gu Yue Guangzhi's heart was filled with anger as he couldn't understand why the head clerk derived pleasure from his suffering. Later that day, the young master came to the store with a smirk on his face. Instead of going to the register like usual, he made his way towards Gu Yue Guangzhi.

"I heard that you got mugged yesterday. You even got a primeval stone out of it. Ha ha. If I knew you were so cheap, I wouldn't have wasted twenty primeval stones on the guards. Maybe I should make you work late tonight as well."

Gu Yue Guangzhi was shocked when he came to a realization why he was forced to work late yesterday. He clenched his fists and silently stood there. Seeing that Gu Yue Guangzhi wasn't making any remarks, he triumphantly walked out the store before instructing the storekeeper to make Gu Yue Guangzhi work late tonight as well. The storekeeper understood what that implied but smiled and nodded at his young master, "I will follow your orders, young master."

Gu Yue Guangzhi couldn't focus that day at work. He was thinking about his fate deeply. Was he pre-determined to be bullied in his life? He didn't have the strength to fight back and he couldn't get back at them. Was he fated to lead his old life again? As he was immersed in his thoughts, it was already night time.

He was walking towards his home again. He was holding the primeval stone he received yesterday. He could've gone to a healing gu master but his pride wouldn't allow him to use the primeval stone he got as compensation. The group of attackers saw him coming alone towards them and young master Peng stepped forward, "I was expecting you to hole up in some corner today and not come this way. I guess it is your fate to get beaten by me."

Gu Yue Guangzhi had a fire in his eyes. He resolutely replied, "I will break my chains of fate but today…", he wound his arms and took a baseball pose, "I will start by breaking your teeth!" Using his athletic prowess, he shot the primeval stone in his hand towards the his bully.
