Gu Guangzhi was visibly happy everyday after he met Wang Mei. A few elders who saw this, thought that he was happy due to being married to Jiao Lin. However Jiao Lin knew that it was not true. She tried to pry into Gu Guangzhi's whereabouts but gave up the idea due to fear of retaliation from Gu Guangzhi. Gu Guangzhi went to the forest to meet with Wang Mei again. However, on his way, he noticed the temperatures dropped suddenly. Soon an icicle came flying towards Gu Guangzhi's head. Gu Guangzhi stopped the icicle inches away from his head using Ghost claw Gu. As he looked in the direction the icicle came from, he saw Bai Ning Bing sitting on top of a tree.

"I thought you would never come.", said Bai Ning Bing as he jumped down from the tree, "It's been a long time since we last fought. How about we resume our fight from where we left off?"

'I must've gotten sloppy these few days when I was coming to meet Wang Mei. Bai Ning Bing was able to track me down and wait for me on the way.', thought Gu Guangzhi. Gu Guangzhi didn't want to fight with Bai Ning Bing. He was not a battle maniac like Bai Ning Bing. If possible, he wanted to avoid fighting Bai Ning Bing but he knew that it was wishful thinking. So he was working on ways to counter him.

"I have successfully broken through to Rank 3 after our battle so as far I am concerned, our fight has ended. I no longer have any reason to fight you.", said Gu Guangzhi.

"Oh, is that so? Then let me give you a reason to fight!", saying so, Bai Ning Bing shot several icicles at Gu Guangzhi.

Gu Guangzhi activated the Dagger tail Gu to smash the incoming icicles and defend himself. He then proceeded to use Rank 2 Grass Puppet Gu along with Rank 3 Bamboo swamp Gu and Rank 3 Turn Rock Gu to produce modified grass soldiers mixed in with ordinary Grass soldiers to fight for him.

"Oh! So this is your killer move! I have heard about your battle with Xu Lan and Xu Delan. Mixing in ordinary grass puppets with modified grass soldiers to exhaust your opponents; it is a good strategy. But do you think you can use these petty tricks with me? I have a killer move as well. I call it 'Ice blade storm'. Let me show you the difference in the quality of our moves!" Saying so, Bai Ning Bing proceeded to use Fierce Wind Gu, Swirl Gu and Ice blade Gu to form a killer move of his own! Ice blade storm!

Bai Ning Bing started revolving on a single leg with an ice blade in his hand. His speed picked up drastically, transforming him into a tornado, emitting waves of sword traces in a blizzard storm. Ice blade storm easily ripped the grass soldiers to shreds. The modified grass soldiers showed a better resistance but they couldn't stop Bai Ning Bing.

Ice blade storm was a Rank 2 killer move from Bai Ning Bing. With his Northern Dark Ice Soul Physique, it was elevated to lever higher and was able to compete with Gu Guangzhi's Rank 3 killer move 'Heavy handed soldiers'. This showed the battle prowess of Bai Ning Bing. Gu Guangzhi's primeval essence was being spent rapidly while Bai Ning Bing didn't feel the burden of the Rank 2 killer move.

As the grass soldiers were being ripped part, Gu Guangzhi proceeded to pour primeval essence into Rank 1 Hellrise bamboo bird Gu. Tiny hellrise bamboo puppet birds were produced as the primeval essence continued to be poured in. Hundreds of tiny birds could be produced in under a minute. They quickly made their way into the tornado.

These hellrise bamboo birds, which upon exploding, were capable of taking down Rank 1 gu masters didn't harm Bai Ning Bing as much. He was a user of Rank 3 Ice Muscle Gu. He had a really high defense. The explosions from the hellrise bamboo birds didn't cause even a scratch on his skin. However as the hellrise birds were continued to be produced, some of them turned out to be more powerful hellrise birds. They had Rank 2 strength and were able to bother Bai Ning Bing. Very rarely, hellrise birds with even Rank 3 strength were being produced. They were able to cause harm to Bai Ning Bing. Moreover, hundreds of these birds steadily raised the heat and caused his Ice blade storm to weaken. This was really annoying to Bai Ning Bing.

However, it wasn't as if Gu Guangzhi could overpower Bai Ning Bing with a single Rank 1 gu insect. Hellrise bamboo bird Gu was a powerful gu insect created by Gu Guangzhi. It was difficult to refine and he only had one. He had to stop pouring primeval essence into it regularly so as to not over load it. This back and forth continued for a while. Finally Bai Ning Bing grew annoyed at the combined attacks of hellrise birds and grass soldiers.

"You are really interesting. You created a gu insect by emulating my attack. But a replica can never beat the original.", said Bai Ning Bing. He poured his white silver primeval essence into Rank 3 Blue Bird Ice Coffin Gu. An ice bird flew out of Bai Ning Bing's mouth. It flew towards Gu Guangzhi. It had the full power of the ice explosion unlike the ice bird Bai Ning Bing created when he first fought with Gu Guangzhi. Gu Guangzhi quickly redirected all the hellrise birds to crash into the ice bird. The first few hellrise birds didn't stop the momentum of the ice bird making its way to Gu Guangzhi but as the numbers piled up, the hundreds of explosions from the hellrise birds weakened it. Finally, the ice bird exploded as well but its impact was much lesser than what Gu Guangzhi experienced last time. Gu Guangzhi had beaten quality with quantity.

The heat from the hellrise bird explosions and the cold from the ice bird explosion created a strong explosive wind and knocked Bai Ning Bing away. Gu Guangzhi was prepared for the knock back so he used Bamboo swamp Gu to cushion his fall. As Bai Ning Bing recovered from the attack and got up, he didn't attack Gu guangzhi right away. Instead, he looked at Gu Guangzhi with confusion and suspicion.

"You! What have you done to me?", asked Bai Ning Bing.
