Raaji

Lotus quickly continued to pressed the gauze over the wound, "Keep it there."

Raaji pressed down the gauze with ease as she worked around with the materials and spoke to him, "It's a good thing that the knife didn't cut into the major veins. Or else, we'll have to work around with stitches. All you need is something to keep the wound closed. Now, I know he puts the Closure strips here somewhere... Got it!"

She took out a box of the Butterfly closure strips and began working straight away. After working around the wound, she taped it up easily as she went about bandaging it up easily.

"Two week it would heal." Lotus responded, "But that'd only be on the surface, "Don't scratch it. the itch means it's healing and regrowing. Don't stretch the wound or it will open the wound."

"R-Right." Raaji said with a wide smile, "Thanks!"

After she puts away everything, Raaji spoke up, "Um, about the training camp."

"It'll be fine if you study, but I can't say you can participate in much exercises, muchless magift games for the time being." She responded bluntly, "The good news is that it shouldn't hinder your studies since the cut is on your left hand. You're right-handed, after all. Just don't use your knuckles. I'd give you pain killers, but that'd be difficult without the nurse. I'll make a potion to numb the hand. I'll give you the ingredients to the potion."

She wrote out the list of ingredients and handed the paper to him.

"I got it." Raaji took it as he took the papers.

"Have someone to work on it with you." She continued, "It'll be difficult to make it with just a dominant hand. I'll make the first batch for you. Take that only when you feel the pain. The potion is not something to be taken by the mouth. You have to apply it onto the skin. It's poisonous to consume it. Remember this. This is very important. Only rub it around the wound in a thin layer."

"Got it." Raaji nodded his head.

After looking at the ingredients, he turned to her and said, "You know a lot about poison and herbs."

Lotus put away the equipment and responded with a sigh, "I've been working around them for a long time many years ago. I'd be in danger if I didn't know about them. Even anti-poison requires the source of the poison to create it and few numbers of medicine requires poison in their recipe, but they're usually not used for consumption."

"There's only one problem." Raaji spoke up with a frown, "The poison here isn't acquirable without permission from the teachers."

"You know that I don't have access to that." Lotus shook her head in exasperation, "Don't you have this flower on you? You don't need to deny it, unless you want to for yourself. The flower's scent is all over you. You have access to this flower one way or another, right? More than just one of the flowers that are poisonous. Have someone else make it or you make it yourself."

Her confident speech left the young man speechless. He does have access to this poisonous flower since his family ran a flower shop of poisonous plants authorized by the government of the Rose Kingdom. His parents are famous florists for poisonous flowers, but, in the country where order was equivalent to peace, his family wasn't well-known. However, this was different in the Land of Hot Sands. His distant family was from the Land of Hot Sands and is well-known for these things.

Yet being away from the land and a distant relative, his family wasn't known unless people of the Rose Kingdom had looked into the field of poison and that had brought him a lot of trouble. This was the first time that someone known about this without knowing his family.

This was something that Lotus can pick up as well, so she added, "Unless you want to bear the pain, you can make it. It was going to be a hassle, but it would be better than having to use the flower."

He turned to her in confusion when he saw her eyes on him which nearly give him a shudder as if those pair of eyes can see through his heart. Though it didn't feel threatening, it also felt a little uncomfortable."

"I understand." The boy nodded, "I'll... try to tough it out."

"All right." Lotus responded easily and finished her writing on a piece of paper.

"That's it?" Raaji looked up in surprise.

"That's it." Lotus clarified bluntly, "The patient doesn't want the medication, I cannot force it on you. Even if it was the doctor, they cannot force medication on a patient unless life threatening. You have that right no doctors can revoke. I've only recommended it to you. If the wound feels too warm use the cold press and come back for anti-biotics."

Raaji's eyes widen in surprise, but he nodded in relief, "Thanks again!"

Lotus nodded and brought him back to the kitchen. After giving a report to Jamil, she took over Raaji's work and finished it quickly before they gave her a spot to cook. It wasn't long before she was done that she thanked them and walked away.

It wasn't long before Lotus took a step out that Raaji called out to her, "Ah, hey! X-Xue!"

Lotus stopped and turned around to see Raaji rushing over to her.

"Let me know if you need any help with something. I'll see if I can help." Raaji said with a wide smile.

"Really?" Lotus said in surprise.

"Why not?" Raaji shrugged as he said in a breeze, "My studies aren't as bad. It's just my athletic abilities that require work, but I can't exercise much with this hand injured."

Lotus perked up curiously, "Then... I heard that the dorm has a desert. I'd like to try exploring the desert area."

"Eh?" Raaji looked to her in surprise, "A-Are you sure about this?"

"Yeah!" Lotus responded with a wide smile in excitement, "It's been a long time since I last traveled a place similar to the sand of the Land of Hot Sands!"

"Why not?"

Raaji looked behind in surprise and saw Jamil looking at them with an annoyed look on his face as he stared down upon the younger resident with arms folded over his chest.

"V-Vice dormleader..." Raaji said in horror before he recalled what the guy said and said, "Wait, what?"

"I said why not." Jamil said with a frown, "He helped you and helped us with dinner. Since you can't help around or attend the training camp to the fullest. You'll be his guide, then."

Raaji nodded his head, "All right."

"Thanks for listening to my wish!" Lotus said with a wide smile.

Jamil stared at her with a furrowed brow before he sighed, "We'll go back tomorrow, then. We'll see you again tomorrow, then."

Lotus nodded, "All right! See ya!"

As soon as they saw her disappear behind the trees onto the Main Road, Jamil turned to Raaji and said firmly, "Tomorrow, keep a close eye on him. We don't want trouble here."

"Yes!" Raaji responded bluntly having expected this outcome.

As Jamil vanished back into the cafeteria, Raaji looked back at the path and smirked, "Looks like things will be very interesting."

As soon as Lotus reached the steps, she could see the white powder drifting down from the sky to which she find to be very soft and gently. She allow one to drift onto her palm with a small smile as she remembered one memory of her past life. It was then that she felt something stare at her from afar and a chill in her chest made her cough.

"Huh?" She turned around in surprise but slipped and could feel the world flip and she felt a blunt force to her head.

.....

"Ow..."

Lotus groaned as she opened her eyes and found herself on the infirmary bed in the nurse's office. She touched her head and found that a bandage had wrapped around his head. She looked around in surprise and found a familiar figure talking with the ghosts.

"Oh! He's awake just in time!"

"Huh? You..." Lotus spoke up in bewilderment and noticed the familiar blond hair figure in school uniform before the ghosts by the door, "Rook?"

"Oh, he finally came around!" The chubby ghost spoke up in surprise and hurried over, "You feeling better?"

"Y-Yeah..." Lotus grumbled as she touched her bandage, "What happened? I injured myself?"

"Oui." The blond hair guy responded bluntly, "You slipped and hit your head on the stairs."

"Ah, so I slipped..." Lotus grumbled as the pain hit her head again and a puff of white smoke came out of her mouth.

Surprised, she looked at her bare hands and found them pale and ice cold. Luckily, the ring was still on her hand as she looked over and found Rook place a steaming water cup onto the table next to her with a sigh, "I need to return to the Mirror Chamber now, so you may take your time resting here with your ghost friends. Salut!"

He, then, walked out of the room and disappeared.
