Calling Kalim

She took out her phone and made a call to the nurse first. After all, he was the one who helped approve her use of the herbal pill from the school district and nearby hospital on the island. After making the case cleared to the nurse, he sighed and grumbled, "Good, good. Keep a close eye on his condition and notify me of any changes to his condition. Do you still have the tea?"

"Yes. I'm going to call someone who can help us identify this plant for us on campus."

"Do we have such a person?" The nurse said in doubt.

Lotus smirked, "Of course. He just never had the chance to show his ability luckily."

"Luckily?"

"Anyway, I'll await for your arrival. We need a certified professional here. A student with qualification from the hospital and school district won't be enough to reassure others once word gets out. I also need to notify his sibling." Lotus continued.

"All right. You do just that." The nurse sighed wearily, "Still, to think that the victim would be Jade of all people..."

"It was an amateur mistake. Though there would most likely be some impact on his work in the Mostro Lounge, I believe that Azul can help him oversee the stock of tea with him later. After all, Foxglove isn't any some tea that could be served to guests. It's a drug. Jade bought some for private uses when he got poisoned. It was a good thing we got the approval for that pill. If not, I'd have him empty his stomach right now. I'll have the Supervisor contact the headmaster after this call and let him in on the details. I highly doubt he wouldn't return for this incident."

"I'll trust you with it, then." He responded, "I'm on my way back right now."

With that, he hung up and Lotus looked over to Jade, "Still conscious?"

"So far, yes." Jade responded with a shrug, "My heartbeats are still strong right now, but I'm not in any pain."

She checked to see if he had any more severe symptoms but he was fortunate to have none. She opened the lounge door and headed straight for Yuu's room before opening it. She quickly pulled aside her dorm leader and had him contact the headmaster before the others.

"Call the headmaster? What for?" Ace looked up in confusion.

"Someone accidentally got poisoned just now." She responded quietly.

"Fgna?!" Grim cried out in horror before she slapped his mouth shut with a hand.

"Shh!" She shushed them with a frown, "He's resting in the lounge right now. Don't cause a ruckus when a patient is resting."

"Is that person all right now?" Ace said as he took a deep breath to calm down, "Just who was it anyway?"

"You'll find out later on." Lotus shook her head with a small sigh, "I won't be able to hide this from you anyway. That's why I'm telling you right now. I can't divulge who it is, due to regulations, but, with the headmaster dropping by later. I doubt it will be a secret for long. Just wait till the headmaster returns. Yuu, call the headmaster and tell him that the situation is under control with the nurse on his way, but it would be best to have him around since we will need to notify their parents. Having the headmaster present is the best assurance that we have everything under control before them. I need to contact someone else right now."

"All right." Yuu took out the smartphone and began his call right away.

Lotus turned to Grim and patted his head, "Don't leave this room unless Yuu does, got it? Otherwise, the headmaster will scold you again."

"Oh, come on!" Grim growled in frustration but didn't retaliate.

She turned to Ace and reminded him, "You're curious, but, if you leave the room right now, I won't be able to help get you out of trouble. The rules are rather tedious in this field."

"Fine. We get it." Ace sighed, "You want us to stay here."

Lotus nodded and left the room. she checked with the patient once more before making the second call. Five minutes after making that call, there was a loud and impatient knock on the door, She greeted the person at the door and let him in without exchanging the words of greeting, "He's in the lounge."

As she let him in, Floyd sighed in confusion, "I know you said that he's poisoned, but are you sure it wasn't a mistake?"

As she opened the door to the lounge, Lotus shook her head, "Sadly, it wasn't. He's resting on the couch right now. You can still talk with him. The nurse is on his way and so is the headmaster. As for the poisoning, you guys might want to look into it. I'll have someone come to confirm the type of tea leaves in a bit. For now, it might be of help if you can figure out how Jade made that mistake, if you can."

"Figure out?"

Lotus sighed and nodded her head, "It seems unusual for Jade to make this type of mistake, after all. He's usually very attentive of his surroundings, so it's unlike him to mistake Foxglove for Comfrey. I'd talk to him about it, but I need to contact someone to identify the tea right now. Well, actually, I don't think he would be willing to talk to me about how that happened. That's why I want to ask you if you can get some answers from him. As long as someone know it's enough."

"Ah? You want me to do that?" Floyd sighed, "I don't feel like it..."

"Ah."

Lotus sighed and nodded her head, "All right. Then, you don't have to do it. I'll come up with an excuse for the nurse, then."

"All right." He turned around and went to sit on the other side of the table.

When Lotus left the room, Floyd looked at his younger twin in confusion, "Eh, to think you actually got poisoned this time. So, annoying."

Jade managed a weary smile as he responded, "Sorry about this."

As Floyd shrugged, Jade covered his face with an arm as though he was trying to get some rest under the light of the lounge.

.....

"Geez..." Crowley sighed in disappointment, "I leave the school in your care for only a few days and something like this happens. You are lucky that Lotus found out about it or..."

Crowley was busy scolding Jade who had pretty much recovered enough to walk around again when Lotus brought in the two guests in the building.

"Huh? Did something happen? It's pretty lively here. Ah, is there one of these tea parties going on? I heard from one of our students that you do these really nice tasting session!"

"Hah... I don't think that's why we're here today..."

"Yeah. Jamil's right." Lotus nodded with a heavy sigh.

The one whom she had invited was the dorm leader and vice-dorm leader of the Scarabia Dorm. She took out the jar of the tea she had been given by the nurse and handed it to Kalim.

"Actually, what I want to ask from you is if you can help me identify what this tea is." Lotus clarified with a frown.

"This?" Kalim looked at the jar and opened it curiously.

"Why do you want Kalim to identify this tea?" Jamil questioned her with an obvious look of suspicion.

Lotus smirked playfully, "How about I let you take a few guesses?"

Jamil gave her a deadpanned look on annoyance when Kalim spoke up in shock, "Hey... I think you made a mistake."

"Hm?"

Kalim took out a leaf and frowned, "This isn't a regular tea. It's foxglove!"

"Foxglove?" Jamil looked to him in shock, "That can't be..."

Jamil was about to reach out to the jar when Lotus grabbed his wrist. She said with a frown, "I don't recommend taking it into your hands."

She reached out and retrieved the jar before handing Jamil some of its contents, "You've only just overblotted and it's only been a few days since the stunt you pulled. It would be troublesome if you end up putting your handprint on this jar."

Hearing this, Jamil was surprised before he eagerly studied the drug with a look of seriousness. It was only after a minute that he finally nodded, "It's actually foxglove. The edges of the leaves are jagged. a signature of the foxglove leaves."

"But why did you want us to take a look at it?" Kalim tilted his head in confusion before a thought came across his mind, "Wait, don't tell me-!"

Lotus nodded, "One of the students staying here accidentally got poisoned. Because he was showing me the tea leaves he received today, I was able to catch him in time and adminstered the antidote."

Kalim sighed in relief, "That's a relief! I was worried when you said that it was tea."

Lotus laughed, "This type of mistake won't happen to me so easily. Even the victim wouldn't make the mistake so easily, but he was simply a little muddleheaded today and fumbled."

"Hm..." Jamil frowned as a thought came across him, "If it's him, then... what a surprise..."

Lotus chuckled, "Saying your thoughts out loud will give you away, Jamil. Yes, I believe you got the right person in mind."
