Azul looked to Jade hesitantly to which Jade responded with a wide smile, "That shouldn't be a big problem. Our parents are overprotective, but they do trust us enough to let us have our secrets. Then, I'll go ahead and act. All Floyd has to do is not tell our parents that I have a black eye and we're all good."
"So, I just don't have to talk about the eye?" Floyd thought for a bit before he nodded with a sigh, "Fine..."
"Then, I'll go fetch the make up for you guys. Wait here." She said and got up to leave the room.
As soon as the door slammed shut behind them, Azul turned to Jade and said, "Did you find anything unusual? And your eye..."
"Hm..." Jade hesitated as he thought carefully, "I'm not too certain myself."
"Huh? What sort of answer was that for?" Floyd asked in confusion and frustration, "Also, Azul only wanted to know about the network. Nobody mentioned anything about poison. Why'd you got to go and poison yourself for?"
"That's right." Azul agreed with a stern frown, "If it were anyone else, they'd naturally believe that you accidentally poisoned yourself, but you can't fool us. You clearly knew that tea was a drug but you still took it. Just what is so important here that you'd put your life at risk?"
"That..." Jade wore a small smile, "I'm afraid that's a secret I'd like to keep for myself. However... I left the room and found that the window had been broken open."
Ignoring the upset looks of the two, he explained what he's discovered in clarity. At first, the two were not interested in the matter, but it wasn't long before his words caught their interests. However, after hearing this, Azul frowned, "I see... So, you saw a girl in the lounge that have been playing around with some intruder aside from herself..."
"That's right." Jade nodded, "However, due to the effects of the poison, I can't say for sure that what I've seen was all a hallucination..."
"I see. What did this girl look like?"
"Ah, that..." Jade muttered quietly something indistinctly.
"Hm? Jade?"
"Ah..." Jade looked up with a smile, "I didn't have a good look at her face, but she has long red hair and purple eyes. I had thought it had been Lotus because their eyes are purple, but she was much shorter than him and has a slimmer body shape... A strange foreign black silk dress that was finely embroidered."
Azul shuddered with a look of surprise!
"Huh? What sort of details is that?" Floyd said in confusion, "Only Angler Fish's eyes are purple..."
Jade shook his head, "It's purple, but there's a tint of another color. It's not heterochromia, like ours, but... Maybe, her eyes are a central heterochromia?"
Jade and Floyd are twins with complete heterochromia meaning each eye is a completely different color from the other. Yet, central heterochromia is when two different colors exists in one iris. Jade recalled that her eyes had been a purple with a color that helped bring out the purple iris of her eyes. Made it looked like jewels...
Azul hesitated for a while before he opened his mouth, "Did... Did you hear a name or something?"
Jade thought for a bit in confusion before he responded, "I don't remember too well... But, I believe it was a flower name... I think it was Peony or Rose."
Hearing his words sent another shiver down Azul's spine as he muttered in his heart in shock. It wasn't a dream! She's real!
Just the thought of the idea was enough to make him nervous and now to know it a fact is shocking!
Yet, didn't Jade said that she was busy "playing" with someone? However, Jade's definition of "play" was never a positive thing and couldn't be taken for the literal term. This means that she was busy torturing or restraining the person when he saw this. However, can such a slim girl be able to restrain something as big as a man. However, it was undeniable that she was able to enter into those that have been in the state of overblot. Could she also be so powerful that she could immobilize a man?
"But what is a girl doing in Night Raven College?" Floyd wondered in confusion.
"That's true." Jade agreed in confusion, "Night Raven College is an all boys school. So why would there be a girl on campus? And why was there a fight in Ramshackle dorm? Azul?"
Azul shook his head and sighed, "We're back out."
"Eh? But why?" Floyd looked to him in surprise, "What about the network that Angler Fish has?"
"We have other opportunities to investigate another time." Azul responded with a firm look, "Right now, staying in Ramshackle dorm isn't a good idea for us. Let's just take the make up and return to Octavinelle dorm. It's too dangerous to continue investigating this matter."
In the end, they were unable to get an answer and instead found themselves in more trouble than they initially had. So, they made a hasty retreat back to the dorm that night while Lotus accompanied them back. If they don't back out now, he may lose more than he initially allowed.
That night, he was still in the lounge past the curfew hours sitting by the bar for non-alcoholic drinks. As everyone was too underage to have alcohol, they decided to keep the bar's design but fill it with ingredients that didn't contain alcohol. The only thing in the lounge that had it was just the kitchen, but there was nothing new about that. However, the management of the lounge was not in his thoughts as he zoned out by the counter in deep thoughts.
In the event where she gained her newfound powers, she had accidentally struck her only two friends disintegrating them into bubbles. The loss of them aggrieved her so much, the king and human prince she was trying to get along with had to work together to bring her out of her grief and moment of insanity. She learned from her own greed and returned the crown and trident then was never found again.
Her words continued to replay in his mind. It wasn't that he didn't try to forget them, but it had left such an impact on him that he was unable to forget it. After that incident, he decided to research on the sea witch out of curiosity and the events that went on during her time. That's when he learned that there was a time when the beloved daughter of King Triton had came across trouble before she fell in love with a human man. Back then, love between two species was strictly forbidden and it was a taboo to go to the surface. So, how was it that the daughter was able to obtain legs and break the taboo for that man? And what about the time when the entire population of mers were turned into sea anemone? The answer had been so obvious, that it appalled him.
She must've made a contract with the sea witch and, if the girl was right in that he greatly resembled her style of thinking, the witch must've used this as a leverage to make the king want something from her as well. It never stated how she lost her two beloved moray eels, but there was still a possibility that Peony was right in that she accidentally killed them herself and became aggrieved by her own actions leading to her own self-reflection or disappearance. Even though he haven't gone through something like this yet, it was obvious what she was referring to when she mentioned the moray eels. Even if they can't really be called friends, they have known one another for a long time and the two would always follow him and go with what he says. Thinking this, just how different were they from the poor sea witch who accidentally killed her only companions. That day, if the supervisor and the two hadn't stopped him in his overblot state, would he have done the deed with his own hands too and perished with them?
Peony was correct that day. He was too much like the Sea Witch that it was a little worrying. the only reason he was able to avoid a tragedy was because the twins worked with the freshman and the dorm leader and vice-dorm leader of the Savanaclaw to bring him back. That was the only difference. So, if they weren't around...
He shook his head and decided not to go into any further thoughts. He wasn't close with the twins, but their relationship was enough for him to call them his followers. It was very likely that the eels had also been the sea witch's followers too and decided to go against her when she went crazy from have so much power in hand. Everything in the world has a price and it just so happened that the sea witch had touched on that matter as well and passed on in regret at that time.
That's why he didn't regret not going into further investigation regarding Lotus's network or that mysterious girl called Peony. Even if he wasn't on the same level of being identical to the sea witch's circumstances. He can't say that he won't regret losing the two eels that are following him. To him, he knows full well now, which is more important.
