About This Man

  "The assassin is making their way towards Diasomnia." Huo Wei stated. 

  Lotus raised a brow, "I thought he was already in Diasomnia to begin with?"

  "No, he became suspicious." Huo Wei responded. 

  There was a moment of silence before she continued in a cold tone, "What about the situation?"

  "He is determined to kill every last person alive. However, thanks to the guardians's aura together, they were able to intimidate him back into Diasomnia as planned. Not a single person had been caught in his killing intent."

  "As expected..." Lotus hummed, "The guardians were not trusted for no reason."

  "Should we chase after him?" 

  "Are you even in the condition to last another five minutes of battle?" Lotus questioned him coldly. 

  There was a long moment of silence before she opened her mouth again, "I'll send Zhang Yong to send you a healing potion. I will come check on you."

  "But, that man, he's charged into Diasomnia! The guardian-"

  "Was not informed, correct?" She responded calmly, "It is all right. Rest. Even if the guardian does not hear of my plan in person, it does not mean he was not aware of my movements at all... Likewise, he does not condone threatening the lives of the residents. Do not forget. Even if all others are guardians, the one in Diasomnia may as well be the guardian of the entire school and possibly this island."

  There was a surprised silence which she had become capable of recognizing before Huo Wei responded, "Is he really that strong?"

  Peony grimaced before she took a deep breath and drew out a handful of pain killers. However, just as she was about to take them, it was suddenly swatted away, much to her surprise. She looked up to find Malleus staring down at her in disbelief and confusion. 

  "Are you trying to take your own life?" He questioned with a frown. 

  She sighed and shook her head with an annoyed look across her face, "As if!"

  Although she wanted to talk about it, another wave of pain hit her like a ton of bricks as she curled up rather angrily. 

  "Hm... Perhaps, you need to see the nurse." 

  "As if I can." Lotus scowled, "Geez, take a hint!"

  Malleus looked to her in confusion as Lotus sighed, "It could be my other secret. It's called health and that is the sole reason why I absolutely can't go see the nurse!"

  "Health..." Malleus looked to her in confusion, "For a secret, you sure do not make it hidden."

  "The only reason I yell is because of this array." She grumbled in disdain. 

  Malleus looked to her curiously before opening his mouth, "You want to leave. In this condition?"

  Lotus hesitated before she opened her mouth, "Ah, a subordinate of mine needs my help."

  "He needs your help?" Malleus raised a brow, "I thought you had a good eye for people?"

  Lotus looked to her with an unenthused expression, "Do you expect all living creatures to be perfect? That's why back up plans are first created."

  "Do you need my help?" Malleus questioned curiously. 

  "You may as well give me a hand seeing as you've basically knocked over all of the pain killers I had on hand!" Lotus scolded him, "At least make up for the mistake."

  "However, I recall that a number of painkillers could easily take the life of a human?" Malleus frowned. 

  "That's if their body is not poison resistant." Lotus scowled, "Painkillers are similar to poisons that can create a numbing effect and too much can lead to poisoning. However, I was born with a body resistant the poison from a young age, so this poison requires a larger dosage for it to take effect on me. However, you are not wrong. If it was a normal human, the amount I was taking would be enough to stop their heart."

  Hearing the complex details, Malleus shook his head and gave his hand finally, "Forget it. Tell me where are we going."

  "We are going to the Hall of Mirrors." Lotus responded. 

  Malleus nodded without hesitation and snapped his fingers. Instantly, they were in the hall of mirror with the entire room remaining dark except for the green flame from Malleus's hand. He opened his mouth in confusion, "Who is it that we are looking for?"

  "Malleus..." She began as she let go of his hand and began to wander around carefully with a light orb in her hand, "How interested are you in meeting another cultivator?"

  "What?" Malleus looked to her stunned. 

  Lotus stood still after examining her surroundings before opening her mouth, "Huo Wei, come down immediately."

  Almost immediately, Huo Wei landed before Lotus with his white robe covered in cuts and blood! Lotus was shocked upon seeing this and furrowed her brows but quickly turned to Malleus with a grimace. This time, he didn't question her intentions and he brought the two away with him back to Lotus's room. 

  Upon return, Huo Wei finally couldn't take it and finally collapsed onto the ground. With this, Lotus suddenly heard loud footsteps and grimaced, "Crud... As expected, your retainer is sharp."

  "What do you plan to do?" Malleus question him nervously. 

  "Since we're lying, we may as well make a plainly obvious one." Lotus shrugged, "... This person is someone I freed from the enemies, and I sought your help for him to escape, then."

  "But, then." Malleus hesitated. 

  "After I'm gone, you can just go back by saying that the princess was the one who saved him and I was told to drag his body back." Lotus huffed calmly.

  "Seriously?" Malleus sighed in dismay.

  Once he did, he opened his mouth with a serious look across his face, "Lotus Xue, Malleus, explain what is going on here."

  After some hesitation, Malleus finally opened his mouth, "This... Lotus helped..."

  Hearing Malleus's hesitation, Lilia sighed in dismay, "Malleus, please. This is a serious matter."

  Lotus was struggling with Huo Wei weighing her down as she cried out weakly, "Can we explain after we get this guy onto the bed?!"

  Lilia hesitated but he finally relented seeing how badly injured the guy was before Malleus finally told him the 'truth'. After a while, Lilia sat down in her chair and sighed as he rubbed his temple painfully, "Why does all of this sound so familiar... Ah, right...   Hearing this name, Malleus looked to Lilia in shock. Lotus, however, did not say anything as she continued to treat Huo Wei with great concentration and doing everything she could to avoid utilizing her magic directly. 

  "You mean, my mother?" Malleus looked to him in confusion, "However, I thought she was a very caring and loving person."

  "She is..." Lilia sighed, "Only when you were around. Whenever something does not go right, there's always a good chance that she would explode in anger and put the blame on me.
