Plan

Eren's POV

"Our final hours are coming." I said

Zeke nodded and sighed.

"To be honest, Eldia will still be in danger after all this." he replied

"We'll figure that out later, right now we learn about other things." I said

I get up to leave but Zeke chuckles.

"This country will be vulnerable for another war." he said

I glance back at him and quickly leave.

"Eren!"

Annie walked up to me and looked a bit stressed.

"Everyone is gathering, we're discussing our final plans." said Annie

We all went towards the main briefing room which is the queen's royal chamber where most of the higher ups gather with the queen.

We enter the room and Historia is sitting on the throne with Reiner standing next to her. Most of the seats were taken by Sentinel, Spetsnaz, Eldian and Bounty Hunter officers so I took a seat in the Eldian section.

"Everyone listen up." said Commander Recon

Everyone became quiet and gave their attention to Recon.

"Our time has come, tomorrow we strike." said Recon

"Tomorrow? Already?" I asked

The room broke out into chatter.

"Silence!" yelled Recon

Everyone jerked a bit from Recon's warning causing us all to shut up.

"We deliberately know the set up of the fortress but this is going to sound crazy and suicidal." said Recon, "Lieutenant Colonel Ghost will brief you."

"We got word that TMO may be launching their final and perfected titan gas into the atmosphere. And what we've learned is that their perfected gas contains both Annie and Eren's spinal fluid which allowed them to spread the gas into the atmosphere." said Ghost, "Which means, once they launch it, we all turn into titans."

The huge tv screen turns on and it shows us the pillar.

"The Pillar is the objective, we take it, we can cure the entire world with this."

Ghost pulls out a big tube filled with blue liquid from his pocket.

"This is the cure, once we launch it the entire region will be cured, not the entire world. So once it's a go for this, we'll start spreading it." said Ghost

The screen turns off and Ghost turns on a huge hologram table showing the whole layout of the fortress.

"Our only problem is getting close enough to the fortress." said Ghost

"Wait you don't have a plan?" asked Levi

"We wanted drones to weaken the walls, creating a hole that'll allow us to enter." said Ghost

"But air support can't get close, our reports tell us that the last drone attack barely scratched the fortress." said Echo

"We have to try we can't just give up." said Ghost

I felt uneasy about that but then Commander Erwin stood up.

"I have a plan." he said

We all look at him and he takes a deep breath.

"I'll lead a group of bombers." said Erwin

"What?" questioned Levi

"And how are you going to do that?" asked Ghost

Erwin pointed to the wall of the fortress.

"What Scouts do." he replied

Hange's eyes widened and she stood up.

"Erwin if drone support can't lay a scratch, how do you plan on getting them on ground?" asked Hange

"They can't focus on both." said Erwin

"Commander Erwin what you are saying?" asked Historia

"Suicide bombers." said Erwin

The entire room breaks out into chatter and yelling.

"Enough!" yelled Historia

Everyone sits back down in frustration.

"Erwin that's a big no." said Historia

"Of course we'll be making ourselves ideal targets. Just standing and waiting will only cause more deaths and we'll be bombarded." said Erwin

"Erwin, you're running straight to your death." said Levi

"But it's better for us to die fighting." said Erwin

"Erwin..." whispered Ghost, "This plan of yours is meaningless."

"Yes your precisely right." replied Erwin

Ghost frowned and crossed his arms.

"It's all meaningless. No matter what dreams or hopes you had, no matter what life you lived, it'll all be the same if we die. Everyone will die someday."

"Hey, Erwin you're not thinking straight." said Reiner

Erwin ignored Reiner's comment and continued to talk to Ghost.

"But does that mean life would be meaningless? Was there even a purpose for us being born? Would you say that to our fallen comrades? Their lives, were they meaningless?"

Ghost sighed and looked at Erwin with a frown but Erwin also frowned.

"No they were not! It's us who gives meaning to our comrade's lives! The brave fallen, the anguished fallen, the ones who will remember them are us, the living! We trusted the living who follow to find meaning in our lives! That is the sole method in which we can rebel against this cruel world!" yelled Erwin

I sat there in shock as Erwin finished yelling.

"Who's even going to do this operation with you?" asked Ghost

The entire room stayed quiet until I heard a chair squeak against the floor and I saw an Eldian officer stand up and salute.

"I wish to join Commander Erwin in this operation!" he yelled

My eyes widened as he looked determined but scared at the same time.

"Me too!" yelled another Eldian officer as he saluted

Others began standing up and saluting.

"We dedicate our hearts!" yelled all the officers who stood up, which was about 20 of them

Ghost looked at all of them in surprise and looked at us.

"Your operation... will commence." said Ghost

"Huh?!" gasped Jean

Levi looked pissed and Mike looked like he was having a seizure.

"Lieutenant Colonel Ghost, that is not your decision to make!" yelled Historia

"I know it's not my decision to make." replied Ghost, "As much as it hurts you, it hurts me as well."

Ghost turned to look at the officers who were standing up.

"But to be honest, I would have done the same." sighed Ghost

He turned and looked at Historia.

"This operation was suicide from the start Historia, time isn't on our side." said Ghost

"We cannot lose men like Erwin." said Historia

"Yes we can't." sighed Ghost, "But we're always replaceable."

Historia looked angry and sad by that fact.

"Commander Erwin, do what you must do." said Ghost

"But-"

"Your majesty, I'll do anything for the sake of humanity." said Erwin

Erwin turned to Hange and nodded to her.

"Section Commander Hange, I'm making you the next commander." said Erwin

"Erwin there has to be another way." said Hange

"Time isn't on our side." said Erwin

"Commander Erwin we can think of one before you recklessly charge in." said Armin

Erwin smiled and nodded.

"I know, but right now this is how it's going to end." said Erwin

Erwin leaves and takes a seat.

"This will be a split operation. Bounty Hunters and Spetsnaz will attack Australia." said Ghost

"Why are we attacking Australia?" asked a Spetsnaz officer

"Australia is the other known place to have the pillar." said Ghost

"Are there other places we don't know about?" asked Mike

"No thanks to Hacker he was able to hack into multiple satellites and there wasn't any other pillar." said Ghost

Everyone was already chattering, getting Recon even more annoyed.

"Once the wall of the fortress is down, Boeings carrying tanks will be dropped onto the field with the Commandos." said Ghost

Commandos, it's probably the first time a whole platoon of giant robots will be used.

"Once we enter the fortress, we take out the generator which will effectively take out their comms." said Ghost, "Their generator is located outside, depending how devastating the blast is we'll only have a few minutes to get in."

He then showed us the layout of the inside of the fortress.

"From there, we scatter and push forward clearing out every room and from there we will make our way towards the other side of the mountain. There are two ways to get there, the easy short way which is through the garage but it's most likely going to be heavily guarded." said Ghost, "The other route is a long and tiring way. We'll be facing the same amount of force but we'll be able to flank them out and move easily."

But Ghost sighed and looked back at all of us.

"But there is one problem, once we bombard the wall, they're most likely going to have titans waiting for us." said Ghost, "But I don't want the shifters to fight them. I want them to shift when we get to the field on the other side of the mountain which is heavily guarded with at least 20 titans."

I sighed and sat back against my chair, my hands were shaking.

"Now in Australia, Recon's regiment will be attacking the main TMO camp but only the TMO operators are stationed there." said Ghost, "The Bounty Hunters will attack the camp with TMO mutants but the only problem is that you'll be outnumbered."

"By how much sir?" asked a Bounty Hunter officer

"Two times." said Ghost, "Recon's regiment will take most of Australia."

Ghost turns to look at Recon.

"You're on your own out there." said Ghost

Recon nodded.

"If we're able to execute this correctly, take out the pillars we take back our world." said Ghost

"How many men are we taking?" asked Commander Pixis

"You'll be taking Recon's regiment and the Bounty Hunters. Take the Garrison fleet with you and it'll be better to leave right now and get there as fast as you can." replied Ghost

"We'll move out right now." said Pixis

He and a few other naval officers got up and left the room, Spetsnaz and Bounty Hunter officers also began to get up and leave. Recon and Aid nodded towards Ghost and they left, leaving Sentinel and Eldian Officers.

"There will be no ODM gear for this operation." said Ghost, "We're going to use every firepower we have."

"Why can't we attack from behind?" asked a Sentinel Officer

"The mountains behind the fortress are covered with artillery weaponry, it'll be meaningless." replied Ghost

"I still disagree with Erwin's suicidal charge." said Phantom

I looked up at her and she was frowning at Ghost.

"I know how you feel-"

"No you don't, he's a friend of yours, how can you easily commence his operation?" asked Phantom

"It's my decision." said Erwin

"It's your decision but think about the other people who care about you." said Hange

"Ghost, think about it. What if it was one of us." said Phantom, "What if one of Ghost team members volunteered?"

"What are you saying?" asked Ghost

"You know what I'm saying, you'll obviously decline and tell us to stand down." said Phantom

Ghost sighed and nodded in agreement.

"Of course I'll tell you to stand down." said Ghost, "Cause I'll be the one to do it."

"Ghost-"

"If we can't bring the wall down then we're all going to die." said Ghost

"But that doesn't mean we can allow Erwin to recklessly charge." said Levi

"It's my decision, I made my choice for the better good!" yelled Erwin

I didn't know who's side we should take, Erwin's or Hange's.

"Erwin we can't lose another important officer." said Mike

"What's more important, saving humanity or caring about one life?" asked Erwin

Hange looked sad and shook but looked down at her boots. Ghost looked at Phantom and she looked defeated, so Ghost just left leaving us in complete stress.

"Commander Erwin..." whispered Armin

"Armin, I'm promoting you to Section Commander after Hange takes my place." said Erwin

And with that, he turns to leave with Levi, Hange and Mike still talking to him. Ghost team also got up and left the room with most of the Eldian officers.

"This is madness." sighed Connie

"Looks like this is where it all ends." I said

Ghost's POV

"We'll be heading out now." said Aid

I nodded and he hugged me.

"You know I'm not really a hugger." I said

"But who knows if we'll ever see each other again." said Aid

I hugged him back and we parted.

"I hate to say this..." sighed Recon

She approached me and looked at me.

"Come back alive." she said

"You too." I replied

"I will." she said

She left and boarded the osprey with other Bounty Hunters as they took off.
