Chapter 9 Rodger

Dear Diary...

Yesterday was not a normal ordinary day as I had expected it to be... Let's just say that we had a unexpected visitor come to my grandparents car and was hiding underneath it. It was a jack Russell Terrier with the cuteist brown eyes hairy Silver Gray body tiny small black nose and blonde coloured little legs.

We drove onto the side of the road and climbed out of my mother's car. I was dressed in a Harry potter Hufflepuff top that said "HUFFLPUFF" on the back of my shirt along with a shield with a bager printed on it. My hair was down as usual. and I wore black skinny leggings. And Multicolored thongs in patterns. me and my mom and dad crept up slowly towards the car and we sat a certain distance away from the little dog he was wearing a dirty green cat collar with a rusty green bell. Who would do that to a dog? just let it run free in the street and let it starve?!

who would do such a thing! I held out one of the dried peanut butter chicken treats that my mum had made (otherwise known as fetching delights) I held the treat out and he walked over cautiously and took it. He was so timid the poor dear! Eventually we got him inside the yard and he stayed there until the next day. My grandmother and I went to "cheap as chips" to get him some thing's. We got a plastic kennel, a squeaky doenut some other toys, a red collar, and some treat sticks. When we got back he jumped on the table and sat Infront of me as I but the collar on him. He was really affectionate to us! I loved how he gave us so much attention. Including myself since I don't get much of it.. he was always walking and running around. He looked about 3 years old. but young and very cute! He was so skinny when we first saw him. My family thinks he's been neglected and abused he cowers in the sight of sticks. And yelps when bordered by a baby gate whenever he was inside. he was so dirty! earlier before me and my grandmother bathed him. When he was dry he was so soft and clean! we have him a brush and he was fine after. My parents are hopeing to find his owner or take him to the council. But my grandparents diddent agree!

They did not want this innocent little dog to be put down or give him back worried they will abuse him again. mom had put out notice Pages of the nameless dog but no one has responded in the last 2 day's. So my grandparents decided to keep him. my grandpa named him Rodger. I don't blame them not wanting to give him away I have fallin head over heels for this dog. And I swear to god I'll never let anything happen to him. Or any other animal for that matter. and I'll stick to my word for it! I've never really opened up my heart to a person let alone a dog outside my family. Ever since my dad's mother my nanny died 8 years ago my heart couldn't replace the bond that I once had before her departure. But now I'm thinking this little dog is my second chance to open up my heart to Pepole again. I heard a dog can do many things to heal peoples hearts. But I wonder if this dog can heal mine...
