The wedding was a grand ceremony. As their wedding gift, the King crowned them Duke and Duchess of Norla.
The king held a feast in their honor. Arian was dressed in a glittery lilac gown and her hair braided in two to a bun. She looked simply breathtaking, rendering Miguel speechless on seeing her. He wore a black suit and stood awaiting his bride. Everyone cheered as they walked in.
There was alot of dancing and singing. Those who had wind powers like the princess put up a beautiful show. Miguel could speak to animals. He whispered to his pet popinjay to make her a crown of the most radiant and beautiful flowers. Not long after they the were seated, four estrildids and his popinjay flew in her direction with a beautifully weaved crown having beautiful flowers. They hovered above her head placing the crown gently on it.
"Aw Miguel, you didn't have to," she said gratefully. Admiring the lovely piece of art the birds had put together with her hands.
"I had to, for my queen." He assured adjusting the crown on her head and she smiled.
"Alright everyone!
Let's raise our glasses to the latest duke and duchess.
My lovely sister, Princes Arian and my good friend Miguel."
"Cheers!"
Everyone clicked their glasses. Prince Arden moved towards the band and picked up a guitar.
"Okay so Miguel isn't so much of a singer so I volunteered.
This one's for you..." He said looking in the couple's direction.
Drums and flutes accompanying his singing... Everyone cheered as he had sung beautifully.
"Thank you so much," Arian gave him a tight hug, Miguel followed. Maya congratulated the newly weds.
"Now don't waste time okay you two," Arian said patting Maya on the hand and smiled.
At the end of the ceremony, the new couple waved everyone goodbye from their chariot as they rode to their new home in Norla.
"They grow fast don't they?" Queen Ara said, a warm smile across her face as she watched the leaving chariot.
"Ah yes my dear," King Ayden returned patting her hands after taking them in his, they walked inside.
Maya helped the maids as they unpacked the decorations. Arden watched her from where he was with his friends. He had grown tired of their yapping and thought of an excuse before he lost what remained of his sanity.
"Aaa... Guys I'll just help Maya. Enjoy." He said patting one of them on the shoulder before leaving them.
"Sure," they returned.
Arden ran to get the basket of decorations Maya was holding as though it was a cue Marcella she sighed.
"Oh thank goodness Prince Arden. Maya just wouldn't listen." She said.
"It's okay, I'll help her." He returned.
"Arden I was getting really bored. Aunt Priya and Arjun went inside already and the new friends I made left too." Maya said.
"Why didn't you tell me then?" He frowned.
"Seemed like you were having fun with your friends, I didn't want to disturb you..." She added.
"Fun? Those men are maddening! Seriously maddening I tell you!" He said with a look that said 'I couldn't take it anymore more'.
"Wh... Hy? What happened?" Maya laughed so hard she held him for support.
"What else would happen? Girls! That's all they talked about." He said as he dropped the last basket of decorations.
"What's wrong with that?" Maya said with a giggle as they walked to the entrance.
Shooting her a confused look he stood speechless with his mouth slightly agape for a minute.
"Maya? Are you okay?" He placed his hand on her forehead.
"I'm fine Arden." She returned.
"Oh I see. I don't think you would be if I agreed to their idea of marrying as many wives as I could when I become King someday..." He smirked.
"Hahaha..." She forced a laugh.
"Would you?" She asked trying to hide the pout that followed.
"Maybe," he said with a mischievous smile.
"Aaa... I see. Well that's great, I'm sleepy." She said faking a yawn.
"Of course you are." He laughed.
"Come her you," he pulled her into an embrace.
"Arden," she said.
"You got jealous didn't you?" He asked knowingly.
"No," she shrugged.
"You're a million Queens in one and that's just enough for me." He smiled and she hugged him tighter as smile forming on her face as they stood beneath the canopy of stars.
