At the first meet I didn't know that Evan, someone like him would become so important part of my life. Time passed in a blink as I kept the gripe of my arms around my knee while sitting over the floor, the dongs of the old clock in my living room echoing six times. I gathered my possible strength to move myself. I stood up and started to go back at Evan's room.
His room looks more dull as the last ray's of the sun is coming through. I lie down on the place where he lying down yesterday night when I last saw him. His messy bed sheet still holds his fragrance. "Did you really thought I would just leave you like this, If I had done anything", I threw my words at the void room, it hit the walls & came back to me as, maybe this wasn't working because of me. The way I kept working and working, did I made him feel like I am leaving him behind. "I'm sorry, Evan. Please come back", I screamed as my tears started to rolling of rapidly. My head hurts, thinking that he won't be around me anymore. They say one person, can slowly turned into your habit and then becomes your life's grave part. Crying pushed my vision to see absolute blur and unclear after the gloaming. The nature slowly slide into dark, my whole home followed its lead. I kept lying down in his bed, I felt my foresight fading away. Lie by, how this weekend went I decided not to count as I let the hollowness overcast my thoughts gradually.
A Few Sunrise Later;
My sleep broke when my ears caught the rapidly ringing phone, I wake up with my musty clothes. Managing my steps carelessly I came downstairs and received the call.
My nostril changed its air suction method, causing my voice to change its form."Hello", I said inhaling enough air help my nostril go back to its previous form.
"M," the voice stopped as it said my initial. "Hello, its Euegin".
I nodded from the other side of the phone, "Yeah, Eueg. It's M".
Asking immediately, "What happened to your voice, you got cold", Euegin finished. I denied, so he kept talking, "You should drink a leathery clove tea with mint. Your voice would be fine so as your runny nose. And on a high note, If you are sick you can tell me. I can state your last few days S.L. on the behalf of you".
I looked at the watch, from the corner of the staircase where I was standing while talking on the phone. It's thirteen past six of the midday. "I think I need a few S.L. Eueg, can you do that", I said panning my head over the staircase area for tissues. There's one box of it, over the wooden side table beside the main door. I asked Euegin to hold, leaving the receiver aside quickly to grab a few tissues, aiming to uproot my nose.
"Yeah Eueg", I said again. "So yeah, I need S.L.'s".
Euegin replied as affirmative, "Yeah I've done it already. Don't worry". After that I cut the call and I went into Evan's room, to have a shower and change into something more comfortable clothes.
As I went inside I found the Christ bracelet; all the beats having the letters of his and mine separating in the middle with a heart shaped beat on it & long strips to wrap as per as need. Left on the shampoo counter. I gifted it to Evan, on his birthday. He used to love these aesthetic gifts, he used to joke about even If we grow apart yet he wouldn't give it back. But then he left it like this, so you literally joked right, Ev.
Leaving the shirt & pant on the counter, all stripped I step into the shower. Turning on the cold tap, I gasped out of the sudden chill, float instantly through my spine. I splashed cold water over my eyes, my vision is becoming clear yet the eyes are burning. I kept standing on the shower until the water flow became slower than before. A suppressed anger towards myself, ragging inside, I forcefully turn the hot water tap on. The heat stroke straight into my brain, my face started to adjust the heat with my skin. But as I came out of the shower in my robe, the after effects of the hot water raised immensely. Until I face the reflector I have had no idea about it. Thoughts went blank, as I stepped into my regular cotton suture frock even before drying myself.
My short hairs usually takes one or two scrub of the towels to dry out, but as the calling bell of the front door rang, I left my messy & wild hairs wet as to answer the door. Coming down from the staircase my strings of hairs sprinkled droplets of water along the way. Bare feet I answered the door.
