Chapter 2: The Beginning

You're probably wondering how I ended up in such a situation, seeing how the first chapter only gave a bit of information that clearly happened later on.

My name is Rheya and this is what I'm going through.

Ever since I was a little girl people told me I was cute, it wasn't until I reached my early teen years that I got into my "awkward stage" honestly if you saw pictures of how I looked back then or you knew me... you would think what the fuck is wrong with that child.

If I'm being honest looking back I don't really know how my appearance changed so drastically compared to when I was a kid.

Don't believe me?

This is what I wore and I'm not even joking.

I wore shirts that were wayyy to big for me, same goes for pants. My clothes never matched and to put the cherry on top of this horrible cake: my hair was always in the tightest braid or ponytail possible.

See I always had an assertive personality but it never matched my looks according to lots of people.

I never got called beautiful or cute I always got called smart and that is a big compliment in my eyes.

I don't even deny it, I honestly looked horrible..  but I never thought I'd miss the days that people looked at me that way.

I am what people refer to as a late bloomer, I began to dress myself the way I wanted, I began to take care of myself and I finally was able to just be myself once I turned sixteen.

My best friend from high school she told me that I had a "glow up" meaning I developed nicely. It wasn't until she pointed out to me that I changed that I started to get unwanted attention..

I had lots of people stare at me and I didn't know what to feel about that, I wasn't used to people staring at me or getting compliments.

I never had unwanted attention but ever since the day I decided to be myself, the guys kept coming towards me a lot..

That was the first time I encountered my curse....

Fast forward to now, I am currently 20 years old and I live in a house near the canals. Right across from me is a huge castle, I've actually never seen anyone from the castle but I don't mind it. You see my house can only be spotted if you walk a certain route I did that on purpose to keep uninvited guests out. Oh what the hell I'll just say it , I did that to avoid the creeps and perverts.

I am a brown Hindi girl and I wear a nosepiercing, sometimes it's a nath (nosering) but most of the times it's a tiny diamond stud. I also wear gold anklets around both of my ankles (payals) and gold bracelets around both my arms (churiya's) and wear small golden ring earrings both rows

I have long very dark brown hair (if it's brown in the sun it's brown)  which comes down to my lower back. I have dark brown eyes the same colour as my hair.

I built this house on my own since I wanted to leave my hometown.

I have always felt a strong connection with the ocean it always sooths me in some sort so that's why I chose to live near the waters. Besides the view is amazing and the most beautiful roses grow here.

I often pick the flowers and put them in a vase. My favourite flowers are red roses, they stand for a form of classic beauty meaning that nurturing it to make that beauty shine even more.

A red rose grew at the bend of the canals a few weeks ago.. how I wish I've never picked that rose...

♡ The Canal Bend (5P.M)

I just finished grocery shopping and was walking towards my house. I wore a red v neck shirt with black pants and my hair in a bun.

I walked towards my house to put away the groceries.

I looked outside my window and saw that the roses have blossomed again.

I grabbed a vase and put it on the counter.

Now it's time to pick a rose, I said.

I walked towards the roses to examine them from up close.

I checked the leaves seeing if there weren't any dark spots or bits out of it. I also looked at the roots seeing how the overall health of those roses were. I learned from my mother how to check those things since she loved plants and flowers.

These roses looked prettier every time I came to pick one.

Whilst I picked the rose gently my hairtie broke loose and my hair fell down. Whilst shoving my hair out of my face I picked up the rose and walked towards my house.

Now let's put you in the vase with water and after washing my hands I'll prepare dinner.

I grabbed an elastic and put my hair in a bun.

I opened the pantry to grab a pan when I suddenly heard a noise from my window.

"Why good evening beautiful"

I was startled and dropped the pan, I quickly turned around and saw a handsome man standing by my window.

He was in his early twenties, a bit tanned had dark blond hair, that was sideswept very neatly, mesmerizing green eyes I could see his abs through his formal attire.

Who are you?, I asked whilst putting my pan on the stove.

The man laughed a bit and said: "You still don't know darling?"

I looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and said: Don't call me darling , I don't even know who you are.

The man raised his eyebrow and said:" I wasn't expecting you to be such a feisty little one"

I rolled my eyes at him and said: Oh brother give me a break.. Now if you'll excuse me you weirdo I still have to prepare dinner.

The man put his hand firmly on the window and said: Seems like I have to punish you for hostility against The Crown Prince."

I rolled my eyes and scoffed: Well see you in court than.

The Crown Prince looked me up and down and smirked.

He took his hand of the window and said: "I'm afraid it's not that kind of punishment."

I immediately ran to my front door trying to lock it but I was to late.

The Crown Prince stood there in front of me.

"Now this will be fun" he smirked.
