Chapter 13 : On his island (3)

At a grand palace that looks like it is made out of pure gold, me and Sethar are being guided around the first floor by three maids. The first floor consist of guest room where ten guest can comfortably sit, a bar where the whole wall is full of liquor and wine bottles, a huge gym where ten people can play at the same time, a library that contains thousands of books, a dining room for fifty people and a huge kitchen that even has a bakery inside it. Oh right, there is also a large pool nearby where twenty people can enjoy at the same time too.

There is no statue or hollow, iron knight around the castle because according to Chie, Embra is not fond of those kinds of useless things. But, there are unique arts, antique and pictures all around the castle, down to the kitchen corner. Even I , who do not know much about arts can see that the pictures and arts do not seem out of place. There are small drawing rooms around the first floor, too. But, they are scattered and hard to find them at a glance.

It was five o'clock in the evening when we reach the palace and now that we have looked around, the sun has completely sunken but, the castle is still full of lives. Gold and crystal chandlers that are hanging from the ceilings are all light up and crystal lumps that are placed on the walls are also light up and the whole palace looks grander than before.

Now that, I have seen the castle's interiors, we go outside per my request. Amazing. The whole palace looks even more grand and breathtaking when I look at from the garden in front of the castle. Lights are colorful on the castle wall and combined that with wide garden where numerous lights are also placed here and there, this whole place makes me feel like I am still in heaven.

The garden expand all around the castle till it reach the pool and now that I looks carefully, there are some servants setting up many things in the clearings of the garden. I looks around and see that they are setting up food stalls. Why would they set up food stalls in the garden? Is it some party or festival? While I was wondering in my mind, Sethar ask the question to Hanako in my stead.

"The stalls are here everyday at this time, Ms.Sethar. Lord Embra enjoys eating at street stalls. So, every evening, stalls are set up around the palace from six o'clock in the evening to eleven o'clock in the night." (Hanako)

"I see. How many food stalls are there?" (Keinnayi)

"Usually, there are two stalls that deal with meat, four stall that deals with cold drinks and desert and two stall that deals with hot drinks and foods." (Chie)

He really knows how to use his power, isn't he? Chie also said that everyone is free to eat and drink at the food stalls as long as one follow three rules: No smoking, No dumping or throwing away food and no monopolizing. Smoking is forbidden because there may be kids and dumping around food at random places is forbidden because the stalls are just 200 meter away from the palace.

Sachiko points out the trash cans placed at literally everywhere in the garden and the food packages that prioritize easy-to-handle and no-spilling, rather than the appearance of the food. Every stall owner or, those who cook the food in stalls are all chefs at the palace, according to Hanako because the palace chefs are trained expertly to handle food remaining at the food stalls.

I also notices two things since the time I arrive in the garden; the first is that, there are many people here. Not only are there servants who works at the stalls, there are also people dressed in normal casual clothes and the second things is the word usage of the servants when they address Embra. My curiosity get the better of me and so I ask the question which answer naturally put a smile on my face.

"Um. Lord Embra may have already noticed it but, we address him as 'Lord' only behind his back, out of respect and admiration for him. It is because he would scold us if we use 'Lord' in front of him. That's why everyone address him as 'Boss' when we are in front of him." (Chie)

I cover my mouth to laugh a little because it sounds a bit silly. A man who is literally a king of this island, do not like the word 'Lord'.. Haha. He really is something.

*Crash*

A loud sound of something crash on the hard ground makes me unconsciously turn my head towards it. It seems, there is a problem at the food stalls. Sethar who was also laughing earlier become serious in a moment and turn towards the sound too. I asked Hanako who is also looking around the stalls.

"Do you know what happened?" (Keinnayi)

"No, but, the crowd is gathering at a meat stall. So, I think, a guest throw his plate intentionally." (Hanako)

"How do you.." (Sethar)

"No one, who lives on this island, dare to make loud noises even if it is at the food stalls. So, it is definitely a guest. I can even bet that it is his first time here." (Sachiko)

Interesting. Her words makes me curious about how would Embra's servants handle it. So, I head towards the crowd and see that it is a large meat stall that is set up on stone tiles. No, every stalls are set up on stone tiles and the place where people can eat are also set up on the stone tiles. There is a blondie young man in a suit, who is shouting at the big stall owner.

"... Understand it, fat ass? My uncle is a senior minister of cabinet of Uk. Someone you cannot ever hope to meet in your miserable lives. How preposterous of you to serve me uncooked meat!" (The young man)

"Uncooked meat? That is.."(Chie)

"Yep. That's impossible." (Hanako)

"Why is that?" (Sethar)

"Ah. As I have said before, the chef are expertly trained for the stalls. They are many things they have to learn and the utmost priority of them is to make delicious and healthy food as fast as possible. Beside there are servants who are also trained to assist the chef. It is almost impossible for them to make a mistake." (Hanako)

".. Why are you so confident? Is it because they are also servants who serve Embra?" (Keinnayi)

"That would be wrong, miss Dewei. It is not because of that fact. The reason we are confident in their skill is because they are trained in hell. It is not only us three, every servants and soldiers of Lord Embra would think the same us too because we have seen it ourselves on how the chefs and their assistants are trained just to be one." (Sachiko)

Sachiko sound so confident that makes me wonder, how the chefs and their assistants are trained. But, our attention soon turn to the front because a display screen suddenly appear in the middle of the crowd. The crowd are startled for a bit but, soon, a video appear on the screen. In the video , the young man is buying a bowl of meat soup.

He return to the eating area beside the stall and enjoying the soup but, a man bumps him when he is enjoying the soup and drop pieces of raw meat to the bowl that the young man is eating. The video show us closely on how the raw meat enter the bowl without the young man noticing, who is shouting at the man for bumping him. The video then shows the face of a man who bump the young man and soon the same man is dragged by two men wearing complete black clothes.

The man who is dragged by the men in black is struggling and shouting to free him but, the men in black ignore him and makes him kneel in front of the meat stall.

"Wait. You guys have the wrong person. It is not me. It is another with the same face as mine. Unhand me, I am saying. it is not me." (The man)

"..Robert?" (The young man)

Oya, it seems it is the personal grudges between the Blondie man and the man because they starts bickering in the front of the stall. But, the stall owner is the one who stops them with a stern face. I noticed that he was sweating moments ago but now he can make a stern face because the culprit is caught.

"Esteemed guests, please stop your fighting. Young man, now that it is the fault of your friend, can I get your word that it is not my fault?" (The chef)

".. Fine, it is not your fault, you happy? Che. Now my appetite is ruined. It is all because of you, Robert." (The young man)

"What? I just put a meat in your bowl, what is the harm in it? That fish meat can be eaten raw. You whippersnapper" (Robert)

"What did you just say? Huh? Say that again in my face." (The young man)

Oh, they are going to fight. No one is stopp-.

*thud*

The young man who is making a fist and was about to hit his friend suddenly fell forward. It is not only him, Robert, who is in the hands of two men in the black is also now hanging powerlessly. The two men in black carry each young man on their shoulder and disappear to the direction of the palace after bowing.

What is happening? Why are they -

"Lady Keinnayi, there." (Sethar)

Sethar who is standing beside me point to a tree not too far from here. I have to squint my eyes and focus properly just to see a silthhouse person standing on a tree with a long rifle in his hand.
