Escaping HeroBrine’s Mansion

HeroBrine's Mansion

"Are we seriously going to fight our way free?" Petra said as she grabbed her enchanted golden sword out of her inventory, "speaking of escaping. Where is Ceres? He was with us when we were taken, wasn't he?"

"He'll find a way out. He's a wizard."

Suddenly the torches were blown out by a sudden gust of wind. The entire hallway went dark.

"What the heck?" Petra said, "what is going on?"

"HeroBrine," Daniel responded as he looked to his right.

Standing at the end of the darkened hallway, was HeroBrine. His pure white eyes glowed bright in the dark. Daniel nudged Petra and pointed down at HeroBrine.

"Look!" Daniel said, "he's behind this. Just stay close to me and we will be okay. He can't hurt us if he can't see us."

HeroBrine's head began to illuminate as an orange glow began to come into sight. It was another blockhead. But this one's head was on fire. His eyes were glowing a bright red.

Another blockhead came walking over to where HeroBrine was standing. This one had bright purple eyes. Purple particles were floating all around him.

"Who are they?" Daniel whispered.

Petra gulped as she stared at the three mystical and legendary beings.

"Daniel," Petra said in a shaky, unstable voice, "meet NetherBrine and EnderBrine. Or better known as the Brine Family. Notorious villains of the BlockVerse."

"You really thought we would let you leave this easily?" HeroBrine's haunting, demonic voice said from afar. "I hate to be the burden of bad news, but that's not how it works here."

"Then I guess we'll have to fight our way out then," Daniel said as he prepared himself for a fight. He turned his head to look at Petra. "When I say run, run!"

Daniel, as quietly as possible, reached into his inventory to grab out a distraction. He gently placed the block down on the floor a few blocks away from where he and Petra were standing. He grabbed his flint and steel and set the block aflame.

The block hissed once and began flashing white. It was shaking. "Run!"

He had placed TNT to disorient HeroBrine, NetherBrine, and EnderBrine so that he and Petra could escape. They began running as fast as they could for the only foreseeable way out of HeroBrine's Mansion.

The TNT detonated, sending everything around it aflame. The fire began spreading quickly. HeroBrine, NetherBrine, and EnderBrine all began chasing after Petra and Daniel.

"C'mon! We're almost there!" Daniel said to Petra. They were beginning to run out of breath as they became tired from running.

NetherBrine stopped running to tend the flames and put them out. EnderBrine clapped his hands together, spawning Enderman near the exit.

"Don't look them in the eyes!" Petra warned Daniel.

They easily ran around the Enderman without making any of them turn evil and start hurting them. The door was getting closer and closer. Escaping HeroBrine's Mansion was becoming more of a reality now.

"NetherBrine!" HeroBrine shouted. "Spawn Blaze! Spawn him now!"

NetherBrine looked away from the burning floor and down the hallway. Suddenly, two Blaze spawned. Their glowing, yellow rods were rotating around their bodies. The Blaze began shooting fireballs at Daniel and Petra.

But NetherBrine spawned them too late. Petra and Daniel had made it to the door.

"Hay bales!" Petra said, "the door is locked."

Daniel turned around to look at HeroBrine and EnderBrine. They were approaching quickly. "Break the door! Hurry up!" Daniel said frantically, growing more scared as the two bad guys got closer and closer.

Petra quickly grabbed an iron axe out of her inventory. She began chopping the door down as fast as she could. Daniel was standing behind her.

But just as HeroBrine and EnderBrine were only four blocks away from them, Ceres appeared out of thin air and stopped them from coming any closer. He threw a potion of slowness at them, causing them to severely slow down. Gray bubbles began floating out of their bodies, indicating they were affected by the potion. That gave Petra more time to break the door.

With a little bit of luck the door broke apart, crumbling into small pieces. Ceres, Petra, and Daniel all quickly exited the Mansion in the nick of time. But they didn't stop running. They continued running deeper into the forest with the mindset that they were still being chased by HeroBrine and EnderBrine.

"How long will that potion last?" Daniel asked.

"Long enough for us to escape," Ceres said, "now grab my hands. I'm getting us the heck out of here!"

Daniel, Petra, and Ceres all stopped running. Without hesitation, they both held hands with Ceres. "Now close your eyes," Ceres said. "When I say "open", open your eyes."

"Where are we going?" Petra asked.

"Somewhere far away from here. That's where we are going," Ceres said, "now open your eyes."

When everyone opened their eyes, they were in a completely different biome—the Desert Biome. Everyone let go of each other's hands.

For as far as they could see, there was sand. Cacti were scattered all about. Camels roamed, bunnies hoped, and spiders crawled all over the place.

It was quiet and somewhat peaceful. After what Daniel and Petra had just been through, this was considered comforting.

"Where were you Ceres? We needed you back there!" Petra said, "I needed you. I was almost killed by some Pillagers!"

"I was trapped in a cell down in HeroBrine's dungeon. It was dark, no light to be found anywhere. It took me a while to eventually find my way out, and when I did...I used a potion of invisibility to surprise you and save the day," Ceres explained.

"Okay," Petra said, "he fooled all of us. He trapped me in a room with pillagers, and tricked Daniel with a fake story to stall him from coming to save me. So I apologize if I'm a little tense right now. I know what they're trying to do!"

"What are they trying to accomplish?" Ceres asked.

"They're trying to stop us from saving the OverWorld. HeroBrine must've thought that by kidnapping us, Mineaggedon would destroy the OverWorld. But we outsmarted not only him, but his brother and father as well," Petra said, "they're a threat to our existence. They're going to do anything and everything in their power to make sure Mineaggedon happens."

"Well maybe we should do less talking and continue on our quest. The Jungle shouldn't be too far away now. Let me just check my map," Ceres said as he looked down at his map that was in his hand.

The map showed the entire OverWorld. But different spots on the map were blank as if that part of the world had not been explored. Daniel and Petra looked at the map too.

"That's odd," Ceres said, "I could've sworn I explored every inch of this World."

"You did. I know why the map looks like that," Petra said, "the land is disappearing as Mineaggedon continues to kill the OverWorld. That's why your map is missing different parts of the world."

Ceres pointed at the Jungle Biome, which was only two more Biomes away. First, they had to venture across the desert biome, and then through the Taiga Biome. After they accomplished that, they would arrive at their intended biome—the Jungle.

"Let's get moving. We don't have much daytime left. I don't want to be outdoors when the mobs spawn. C'mon."

"How did you not see that coming HeroBrine?" EnderBrine, HeroBrine's father, said as he became outraged and fueled with anger.

"I forgot about that stupid wizard friend of theirs! I knew I should have cast him to the Nether when I had the chance," HeroBrine responded.

"Tell me they don't know about the Portals? They don't know about the End Portal and Nether Portal being open do they?"

"No," HeroBrine answered.

"Well where are they now? We need to stop them from finding that warlock. Is the Crystal still safe here?" EnderBrine asked.

"The Crystal is still safe in my secret artifacts room. As for their whereabouts, let me check my map."

HeroBrine glanced down at the map in his hand. On the map, he could see three white circles slowly moving across the Desert Biome. That's them.

"They're currently in the Desert, far from here."

"You know what. Change of plan. If they're going to find that Warlock, why don't we just beat them to him?" EnderBrine proposed the outrageous idea.
