First training

The next morning, Ben woke up early. He readied himself and searched on google maps, where he could find the next sports shop.

Ben took the train for 20 min while being transported he decided to go first to the library, which was just a few kilometers away from the shop. Books were the fastest way to accumulate information about a subject, so Ben fought that he should borrow a book about parkour and calisthenics.

Next school year, he would also borrow books about Java and C# as he planned to program mobile games in the next years. Having found the books he was looking for, Ben was on the way to go borrow them, on the way he found Victoria and they exchanged a glance.

Victoria is Ben's classmate, they never interacted with each other as they seemed to be worlds apart. Victoria is a beautiful girl with long brown hair, green eyes, and a nice body. In Ben's class, she wasn't the most beautiful but coupled with her social skills and her good grades in school, she could be considered the most popular girl in their academic year.

The old Ben would have felt pressured by interacting with Victoria, but Ben wouldn't even be startled by interacting with any superstar. He was on a level in which he could maintain an indifferent face at any moment due to his many struggles for survival in his old life.

After having borrowed the books, he directly walked to the sports shop.

Arriving at the sports shop, Ben firstly looked at the jogging shoes, he tried 7 pairs on and run with them before having found the right shoes. Afterwards he choose a durable skipping rope and a doorframe pull-up bar, he went to the cash point and bought the equipment.

Finally arriving home, he looked at his watch, It was only 10 am.

Today, he would test the limits of his body. He decided to begin with a jogging.

After walking only 30 min, he had stitches in the side. He felt quite pathetical, he, who had 49 Stamina before, rarely ever had stitches. He's breathing became steady over the years of training, but now he had to retrain his body.

He concentrated on his breathing and slowed down, the stitches slowly became feebler till they vanished. On his way, he met other joggers and promenaders, it was a sunny day and the sun rose at its highest. Arriving back home, he saw that he jogged for one hour, he came into his house and met his sister at the entrance.

Sister: „How was your first jogging? How long did you jog?"

Me: „I jogged for a whole hour, I can't say that It was easy. As I played tennis I fought I would be able to jog longer."

Sister: „Not bad. I tried jogging myself, but I couldn't even last half an hour. I will go meet a friend, can you please give the word to our parents, when they come back from RIEGER."

Me: „Sure. See you!"

Before continuing the training, Ben drank apple juice and stretched his body. Following this, he tried to do as many push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups as he could do. He managed to do 9 push-ups, 6 pull-ups, and 10 sit-ups. He did another 2 sets of these exercises.

As he was exhausted and It was already 12:30, he ate with his parents a delicious meal. While his body digested the meal, Ben was reading the book about calisthenics. He heard some of the best adventurers talk about calisthenics, calisthenic exercises train the whole body to the extreme, and on top of that, you improve your body control.

2 hours later, he tried the simpler exercises he just read about like the chin-up, the tuck planche, or leg raises. They were mostly all feasible, but he fastly came to his limits. In his breaks, he read the book or researched the exercises.

After finishing the book, he took a shower, he prepared his school bag and clothes for tomorrow, he would finally meet again his old school friends, he was quite excited about it. Seeing his school bag, Ben began to think about school.

´For me, School was always a place to meet my friends and learn something interesting. But how could a place managed by humans be perfect? The school system is based on performance. Sadly that performance can not really be measured. Everything depends on the teacher you have, for example, how can I, who had before a 3 in sports and a 4 in German, have one year later with new teachers one grade better in each of them.

Teachers are vastly different from each other, some show favoritism, other humiliated students, or became friends with students. Teachers can't be perfect, they automatically put you in drawers. After understanding that I stopped struggling for each injustice in grades, I accepted the judgment of my teacher and finished school with 2,5. This time, I will prove how wrong the school system is by achieving a near-perfect score.´

Before dinner, he began to read the book about Parkour.

´Parkour is a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners, called tracers or traceurs, aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment, without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible. Tracers can adapt their movement for each terrain, have good reflexes, and can perfectly move their body. That is exactly, why it is so helpful, naturally this training has quite high risks and is hard to train, but I am optimistic to be able to become a good tracer with the help of the skill, hard training, and all the information on the internet.´

While having dinner, the family had a calm exchange.

Father: „How did you feel today, I heard from your sister that you jogged today?"

Me: „I am alright, I decided to train my body from now on!"

Mother: „You shouldn't have trained, you could have fainted at any moment."

Father: „He already said that he was fine, It is a good sign that he does some exercises. So you probably want to go to school tomorrow?"

Me: „I would love too, each passing day means more pressure for the coming exams."

Having persuaded his family, Ben went to bed and continued reading about parkour till the point he felt sleepy.
