Reaction of the speech

Everyone interpreted the speech differently. The tendency was that populations, who believed in the UNO and their president, were taking the news not badly.

On the other side, people, who already mistrusted them, went on the street to protest.

The population of the USA was buying guns like never before. The few monsters which appeared in Amerika were all dealt by mostly civilians and the rest by the military. Suddenly the gun lobby was receiving the support it had lost over the years back.

In Germany, most of the population took it relatively well. There was a slight doubt that the strength of the army, which had greatly deteriorated over the last years, was strong enough to take on the coming monsters.

Germany always had the protection of the armed forces of allies, but in this scenario it could well be that each country would prioritize their land and only give support if the situation is not dire.

The German government also had this worry. They dramatically increased the pay and the publicity for the recruitment.

Germany wasn't the only country, who suddenly greatly increased their support for their armed forces. Only the top ten of the Global Military Index didn't have a strong reaction. United States, Russia, China, Japan, India, France, South Korea, Italy, United Kingdom and Turkey.

While the other countries didn't fare as good, they still could protect themself.

The few countries, which didn't have a standing military like Andorra or Costa Rica, were in true panic.

Other countries like the Central African Republic or Liberia had one of the weakest military in the world. With a high population, but almost no soldiers it was not in the least realistic to provide an acceptable protection.

The major problem of the irregularity was that it is unpredictable, where the next white hole appears and how strong and dangerous the appearing monster is.

While the UNO sounded strong, united and ready for the catastrophe, it actually only knew that they didn't know a lot. They didn't understand how the irregularity was produced or why the monsters were so strong.

Having so many missing factors made any sort of reaction a bad choice.

For now the UNO mostly promised complete information exchange and military and economical support for future white holes. They also pressured many scientific research companies to help them to understand the monster and how to fight them.

Until now the UNO knew that the monster could be classified with two methods.

The first one was the basic animal classes, which only helped to give basic information about the monster.

The second was a simple classification of three strength/danger classes. Low. Medium. High.

While this method was primitive, it helped the military to know what weapons to use.

The military and UNO had completely taken over the word „monster" when talking to the foreign animals with extraordinary strength.

Low-danger monster could be killed by any armed soldier. The main problem was to hit them as they were smaller and not be killed in the process. These monsters appeared frequently and could be solved with a group of soldiers.

Medium-danger monsters can't be killed by ordinary guns. They need either explosives or powerful guns with armor-piercing ammunition. These monsters came rarely through the white holes, but they could kill a whole team of soldats with ease.

This is why a few teams with advanced military vehicle and weapons are recommended against one medium-danger monster.

High-danger monsters are monsters, who greatly surpassed the medium-danger monster. Till now only few examples have been sighted and only a few have been successfully killed by using the most powerful missiles. The most famous and strongest monster has been the dragon, which came out at Sergy and stayed recently next to the Vesuv. High-danger monsters should be avoided and tracked every second and only be attacked with long-range attacks.

The dragon staying at the Vesuv was not known to the public. Thankfully the Vesuv had been largely evacuated and the Dragon came over the Tyrrhenian Sea. There were a few eyewitnesses, but the UNO easely silenced them.

The classification of danger is very uninformative and only gives a rough plan like fleeing or fighting.

In a luxurious apartment, a well-dressed good-looking man was watching the news.

He didn't have a shocked expression like most would have. He looked amused and interested. Taking a sip of water from wine glass, he looked in the air and murmured:

„I am wondering what your reaction is, my old friend?"

Having finished the news, he went back to his working table and opened his laptop.

´Time to go back to work.´

In a day nursery in France, a beautiful girl was cleaning the room and putting back the tools, which were all over the room. Just after she finished, she went to the break room where the others watched the news.

Coming in, she didn't say anything and only listenned. After the speech was finished, she searched for every little information about the project and the monster.

Her gesture seemed calm, but her face revealed her negative emotion.

A few hours later, she ran out of the day nursery, while making a call.

In a laboratory in the USA, a man with a beard and small round glasses on his nose was watching the speech of the representatives of the UNO.

His hands were trembling, while watching the video. Not from anxiety or nervousness, but from pure excitement.

´I feel like interesting times are coming. Lucky me!´

In the highest floor of the LifeUp main building, a man was working in a slightly messy environment. After finally having enough, he pushed the documents aside and opened Youtube on his computer.

Wanting to relax a bit, he wanted to watch new letsplays, but his attention was soon picked by something else.

All the first recommendations on Youtube were about the last UNO speech. Being curious, he opened the video.

While watching, he only felt even more tired and depressiv.

´What are they talking about? Do they seriously want us to be happy that we may have found a new travel-technology? They didn't give us any helpful information!´

„I am the CEO of my own company and you are just saying that monsters may appear at any moment anywhere? How am I supposed to sleep and work without worrying about this mess? Can't believe that we are led by idiots!"

At a university dorm, a young beautiful guy was watching the instagram post on his tablet.

PS: As little explanation, Ben's description of low, middle and high-leveled monster corresponds to the low, medium and high-danger monster classification.

The difference is that Ben already knows that the difference in strength is mainly due to levels.

The method is to roughly know the difficulty of the monsters and doesn't prove on which level the monster is.

Low-level means at this moment from level 1 to 9.

Middle-level means at this moment from level 10 to 19.

High-level means everything above 20. While generally the highest level was estimated to be 30 in the calamity year, there were some exceptions.
