4-waking up in another world

sitting at the bon fire, I had dinner with others and I left to prepare my tent. we were given the deserted land beside the village to camp for the night. I was half way done when the village's chief caravan arrived with Gorika beside the chief.

The professor welcomed them, although worry was evident on her face, Gorata, the sorcerer of the village was next to him "chief Akanyang wishes to have a word with you" she said boldly. professor walked them into her tent, but Gorika's eyes never left mine. I was curious to find out what they came here for. every body began whispering in hushed tones unlike them, I knew what this visit was about, atleast had an idea.

the professor stormed out of the tent a few minutes later with the chief and Gorata behind her. "I refuse to believe what your saying, none of that exists!" she finished it off rudely "Listen white woman, all this has been evoked by your kind".

"what are you insinuating?" professor Lyn crossed her hands against her chest. Gorata turned to point me out "His mother started all this, and if we don't act fast even your race won't have a world to live in!"

"Dr Estella Williams?, she was here?" professor demanded surprisingly. "how did you know she is marks mother??"

"The young one and I have met already" the professor turned to stare at me accusingly "he was the one with the amulate, he heard the voice of the spirits, he knows what needs to be done". Everyone except the chief and Gorata turned to look at me "what's this all about mark" Juliana a fellow student " yeah what's she saying, what amulate?" the rest chimed in.

"I can't explain, it's very complicated" I finally raised my voice to say something. "where is Dr Estella right now?" professor Lyn questioned impatiently. "she is in the wrong hands, only the chosen one can bring her back" Gorata repeated the same words she told me a few hours past. "is she alive?" I forgot to ask about that "She's neither dead nor alive. We have come to get you all back to the village and you shall stay there untill things are settled or otherwise".

"Excuse me?, we are not going anywhere!" prof Lyn announced. Gorata hit her staff three time to the ground and we were surrounded by the village knights the had arrows, bows, speds and shields. "soek hulle Vir enige wapens, en bring fit na die dorp" (search them for any weapons and bring them to the village) They received a command from the chief in their mother tongue and their head, a tall, fit, broad and mascular guy nodded his head whilst pumping a fist to his chest.

"you can't do this, this against the law!!" the professor protested "your laws do not apply here, white woman" we were dragged to the village assembly, the drums were hit in a terrifying beat. probably to notify the villagers that danger was coming. a few minutes after the drums the assembly was full of worried villagers, who spoke in hushed tones. they stopped whispering and bowed their head as their chief and Gorata graced the gathering.

The chief addressed his people in their tongue, and there were few gasps, and cries of plea until Gorata began talking to the people, there were pleas of hope, and after she was done the crowd broke into chearing and the drums began the beat again. what did she tell them that turned their mood to the next level?. the villagers began dancing to the beat as the approaching, circling us while singing traditional tunes. what did we get ourselves into this time?.

suddenly the drums stopped, and the villagers were now in a straight line. the young women of the village brought three large pots. they left them at the centre where Gorata came with a small bowl on her hands. she began scooping white powder material throwing it to the ground forming a large circle around the pots.

she then spoke in tongue and a lady carrying a basket came to handle it to her. she fished out a black roaster from the basket slaughtered it with her sharp dagger dropping it to the ground to stagger to death. I couldn't watch this. I felt my body beginning to move, I was being dragged, I heard the professor and others protest against it. where were they taking me?.

I was Infront of Gorata inside her circle as she turned to the professor and the rest. "his mother started this, he is going to finish it." I widen my eyes as I was scared to death now, it not what I'm thinking right. "What are going to do to me?" I asked in a horrific tone.

"the spirits said, the seeker is an umtula land, another name for the land of the dead. we trade life for life." she spoke monotonously. "will this bring my mother back" I asked hopefully "And keep everybody else safe". "Then I'm ready". she tore my shirt, leaving me bare chest, she began applying the muds from the pots. she bent down drewing blood from the dead roaster applying it to my cheeks and shoulders. she picked the same dagger she slayed the roaster with. "mother please let him go".

Dikeledi emerged from the crowd, Gorata halted turning to her daughter. she shouted at. her in their tongue "No!, there must be another way, he is innocent" Gorata's face showcases disapproval and fired at her daughter "You disgraced me Dikeledi" she then turned to me with the dagger the final ritual will purify your soul to the gods so they can accept the sacrifice.

She raised the dagger and I closed my eyes in reflex, as I felt a throb and a wave of pain on my left side, I open my eyes and a dagger was stabbed deep into the area where my heart was likely to be. blood spattered from my mouth and I slowly felt the life leave my eyes as a blanket of darkness overtook my senses.

I slowly peeled my eyes open, and I began to intake large gulps of air as if I was chocked by something and I had lost my breath. I looked around to look for Gorata and others but no one was around. I study my surroundings they looked different, I was in a rocky land, darkness bracing the place. there was no sign of life any where.

where am I..??
