At that same moment Jessica had received the same alert only hers started with your tile of Adultest Adult has been reassigned. She jumped up and down for joy and when she saw whose name it was she scrunched her nose up in delight. So you actually managed to pass first on your first shot a cycle early. Good for you. She thought deciding to go ahead and just buy the outfit that Alohra had forced her to try on, now that video of me crying won't be so promenatly displayed on my stupid title list.

She had honestly forgotten today would be the last day of the girls test. She had been planning to go with her parents to pick her up from the testing center if she got back in time.

"Peter did you see?," She called out from the dressing room.

Laughing Peter replied, "Yes, I saw."

Amarilla was the sole survivor of a family of 19 who had fallen to their deaths on the day of the Blackout. When she had made the request to take the exam at 12 instead of 13 because things were not working out between her and her adoptive family the vote to allow it had been 85% Yes 10% No and 5% Abstaining. Jessica was pleased the girl who had suffered so much would be moving to 'The Orphanage'. My parents will be able to look after her without suffocating her like her last family, she thought. She hadn't wanted to be adopted in the first place. She fought it at every step and they could have just changed the rules and let her move out on her own but the adoptive mother had insisted that she was the only one on Karth who could proper care for the child. She had refused to relinquish her rights and the whole thing was just a mess. Amarilla had pleaded to be allowed to just take the test early so she could sever the adoption herself. She was also one of the 5 people of the 100 who had not been in contact with Jessica and the only one not from a Fae family.

"Jessica, I know what you are going to say next," Peter said as she rushed to the front of the shop still wearing the pink shirt and grey with a pink flower on the side of it skirt to pay.

Alohra was holding the bags from the previous shop and gathered the clothing Jessica had worn in placing them in one following her out.

"Then just say you agree that buying stuff for her to make myself happy counts as keeping it for myself," Jessica said in one breath deeply inhaling when she was done.

Peter crossed his arms and started to shake his head when Jessica continued.

"If you don't let me use MY money for something I really really really want I will just have to use yours," Jessica said in one breath again. Smiling a thank you at the store clerk and heading for the door.

"Jessica," Alohra called out. Jessica turned around to see Alohra holding out her boots to her. She looked down at her socked feet and slapped herself on the head. She ran back grabbing them dropping them to the floor and shoving her feet into them. She then ran back out the door. So excited she could barely breathe. She suddenly realized she had no idea where on Karth she was running to. She called her mom who would surely be with girl right now.

"MOMMY," she shouted into the phone loudly causing her mother to pull hers away from her face.

Vintetra Strongwell was standing near his wife when their daughter called. He was standing straight to his full 5'8" height he was pulling a face at Amarilla, she blinked as he pulled up his button nose and stuck his tongue out. His mouth that was surrounded by a short brown well kept beard with a streak of gray running from the middle of his lower lip under his chin. He was wearing glasses frames over his hazel eyes and his short brown hair with flecks of grey coming in. She decided that he did indeed look like the friendly teacher her parents had told her stories about before they died. She looked to Galen Strongwell, Blonde hair cut into a bob cut check round face check, pretty blue eyes check one and check two, this is definitely the woman who was their school nurse. I feel like I know these people already from all the stories my dads had about her healing them up after play fights and all my moms lamenting that he wasn't my teacher as well, she thought. Her parents had been happy for them when they finally conceived Jessica but wished that they had continued their school jobs after she had been born. No one on Karth could blame them when they out right quit to take care of her full time. A baby that could use powerful magic would be a full time job and everyone knew it.

"Calm down, sweetheart, she is with me and your dad," her mother answered knowing why her daughter was calling and smiling at the child who had lost so much. She is quite pretty. The 4'5" tall girl with long naturally slightly curly blonde hair and big clear-water blue eyes mouth dropped open hearing what she had just said.

Amarilla who was a little shocked that Jessica Strongwell wanted to know where she was tugged on Mr. Strongwell's arm to get him to stop making faces.

"Which testing center? I will meet you there I am gonna call the boys so they can come to," Jessica said, "Oh and I transferred 5 large gold to you and dad so you guys can get epic party supplies for all the kids and have some of them help you spend it because you don't know what a party is."

A little insulted her mother replied, "I know what a party is." She then gave Jessica the details of where they were and turned to her husband who was puzzled by the money suddenly in his account before he could select a charity to donate it to she stopped him. "Jessica says that's for a party to congratulate Miss Amarilla."

Amarilla blushed at being called Miss now. She was legally an adult but to young for a title to suit her.

"Oh ok but 5,000 units is a lot for one party isn't it?," Mr. Strongwell said genuinely confused.

Mrs Strongwell, suddenly realizing her daughter may have been right, replied, "She said it has to be epic and we should ask the kids to help plan it."

Amarilla hearing all of this was blushing. The most popular person on Karth wants to throw me an epic party even after I basically stole one of her titles, she thought. Before Jessica had called she had started to apologize to the Strongwells. She hadn't thought she would take the title from her the call had come before they could reply.

"Oh and don't worry about the title Jessica doesn't like them anyway and since you managed to take one from her you are probably her new favorite person," Mr Strongwell said.

"Why doesn't she like the titles?," Amarilla reflexively asked.

"Something about always feeling different. Like getting them makes her feel like she isn't fitting in or something," Mrs Strongwell said absentmindedly still trying to figure out why cake and candy would cost so much money.

The rest of the day was spent picking out a new bed and curtains and a few outfits. Amarilla was in a happy dazed suddenly finding her the center of attention of people she had grown up admiring. In the bed shop Amarilla walked around a bit and keep stopping in front of a bed with a large canopy frame made from wood grown into shape by a dark elf before the Blackout. She selected a modest twin bed and Jessica laughed her ass off and told the clerk to send the canopy. The girl was clearly in love with it and it was only 500 units more than the modest bed.

The Strongwells spent the day with 10 of the 49 now 50 kids planning the party. Mrs. Strongwell was glad her daughter had told her to get help because it turns out she really didn't know what a party was.

The party was indeed epic with music and dancing and food that would take 5 pages to describe in detail and it still wouldn't do it justice. Jessica let loose her braids and made her hair dance like snakes at one point and just as she was about to let them fall. All of the laughter and joy was sucked out of the room when the Chairman walked in with 3 of his committee members in tow.

"Jessica Strongwell, I am here to inform you and your adventuring party that you are being summoned before the committee immediately," The Chairman said in a very official tone.

"Get Fucked," Mrs. Strongwell who was honestly a little bit high at the moment said.

"Did you not know what Mortal Enemy means?," Mr Strongwell who was drunker than a micro moose who was drowning in barrel of whiskey slurred.

Jessica who herself was a little of both laughed at her parents reaction, "Jessie," She called out to the P.A.I.L. of the orphanage complex.

"Yes miss," a christmas elf looking holo image appeared on the table next to her.

"Go live please," Jessica said.

"You are live," The christmas elf said in a cheery tone and ran off to clean up yet another spilled drink.

Jessica looked at the holocam and pointed at the Chairman, "Say that thing you just said again."

"Jessica Strongwell, I am here to inform you and your adventuring party that you are being summoned before the committee immediately," The Chairman said again in the same tone as before but fear entering his mind. There was a pause as tension built up in the air everyone's eyes going back and forth between Jessica and the Chairman. 85 of the longest second's of the Chairman's life tick by slowly as she stared at him, seeming to take in every bit of of not just his appearance but his soul. Finally, Jessica let out long slow forced breath of air.

"You know what," Jessica said, "I am the smartest person on Karth and I can not for the life of me figure out exactly why it is that I don't like you. Not just your actions, of which there have been several that have set me off but, you as a person are someone I genuinely do not like. Why do you think that is? If you answer me right now honestly, I will comply with your ridiculous request and go with you. If not then those three are free to join in THE PARTY I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF," She shouted and using her hands and the snakes in her hair she indicated the room. She then lowered her hands and her hair and waited staring at him in the eye. The Chairman was boiling with rage, How dare she and in a live stream how dare she, he replied in his athoratarine voice. "I don't need to answer your questions you are to come before the committee and answer mine."

Jessica tapped the air in front of her like their was a buzzer and the Jesse P.A.I.L. made an EERRNNTT buzzer sound, "Wrong answer sorry but you lose." She then used her water magic to grab him by the top of his head and gentle lead him outside. The P.A.I.L. shut the door and locked it. The music started back up again and the committee members, who were normal people, joined in the festivities. About 30 mins later there was a loud banging on the front door. The Chairman hadn't left yet and Jessica suddenly realized she had never turned off the live stream. Fuck it if people want to watch me like my life is a 30 hour a day T.V. show let them. Jessica, who had been talking about the different species of fish the committee member, who was actually a marine biologist, had come across stood and excused herself. She climbed out the window and flew to the top of her house and using a spell called targeted megaphone she shouted down at the Chairman. "You were told to leave," Jessica's voice said loudly in the air just around his head, "If you don't leave now I am going to do something nasty and against my nature to you. (The sound of Jessica giggling)."

"I am not leaving and all of you are coming with me," The Chairman said defiantly.

"Ok you know what," Jessica said in her normal voice landing on the ground behind him, "I get it. You think for some reason the committee actually has the power to call people before it. It does not. This is Karth not Earth, I think you have forgotten where it is that you live."

"I know exactly where I live," The Chairman said confused.

"I think you are a liar," Jessica stated, "And I just decided what to do with you.," She swayed a little and created a cloud to sit on, "Hang on a second, I am drunk and high so I need to use a word spell to get this right."

She then thought for a few moments muttering to herself. The Chairman was puzzled and a little curious as to what this OP bitch thought she could do to him without breaking the law.

"Ok I got this, now stand very still and stop being 1 and a half people. Oh right, that's just my vision, sorry."

Man who I do not understand and lacks my favor

I bestow on you a gift

The light of Truth is now yours to bear

May lies leave on your tongue a nasty flavor

Please don't be mift

I grant you these new eyes with great care

The Chairman eyes began to glow as rings of white light appeared around his dark brown irises.

"What the hellscape have you done to me?," The Chairman cried out as he fled.

Jessica watched the back of him for a while (a little to long actually time had gone wonky for her.) She shrugged and reached for the door the P.A.I.L. opened it for her she walked it and it closed it.

"Sorry about that you were saying something about a dolphin with translucent skin."

Everyone's phone beeped.

Jessica Strongwell

Has achieved the achievement title of:

GIVER OF LIGHT

The video link showed her casting the spell on the Chairman.

"I hope it helps him deal with whatever is wrong with him. The assbitter made me add to my freaking title list. I just got rid of one today damn it," Jessica said believing she was thinking it.

"I hope so as well," the committee member replied.

"Oh my goodness you can read my mind," Jessica said a shocked look on her face.

"No you said that out loud," Peter said taking a seat. Everyone who had heard the exchange began laughing and relaying it to the other people in the room. The party lasted for 8 hours before the committee members had to go home and everyone really needed to get some sleep.

Jessica, her parents and her friends had the P.A.I.L. set them up some holo beds in the large party room and spent the night.

The Chairman spent the rest of the night in front of the mirror trying to practice how to speak to people with activating the damn glow. For 8 solid hours he could not get the light to go out.

"That fucking bitch," he finally yelled and the light dimmed a bit. He blinked in surprise as the headache finally lift and his nausea disappeared. It was the first truly honest thing he had said since she had, in his mind, cursed him with the elven light of truth.

"What the hellscape?" The Chairman asked no one. At the edge of his mind a glimmer of understanding about what had actually been done to him finally creeping in and he was balls to the walls furious. He began destroying everything in his bathroom. He punched the mirror and blood trickled from his hand. He threw things to the ground stomping on them and when all the small objects had been as crushed as they were going to get. In his rage he tried to cast destruction magic on the toilet. When nothing happened he looked at his hand and became increasing enraged. "How is it that that woman is able to cast such a horrible curse on me drunk and high? Why is her magic so much more powerful than mine was? Why is life so unfair as to pick that person to have everything while taking away MY meger powers?" his thoughts were racing all along these lines and he passed out from exhaustion on top of the mess he made.
