Flowers and A Request

The next day, Yeon Ah was completely done for the day. She stretched her neck and arms... "Woah! Those were just too many customers today." She said and started getting ready to close the café. While she was doing so, she stepped out of the café and looked here and there.

As she saw no one, she took a deep breath of relief "Thank goodness! He is not here."

She went back inside and started cleaning. The mop fell from her hand as she heard a familiar voice.

"Were you searching for me?" Ji Sang smirked as he noticed that the mop had already fallen on the floor. Seeing her startled expression, he walked towards her and picked up the mop. "I assume that you were searching for me." He giggled while holding the mop in his hand.

Yeon Ah rolled her eyes and snatched the mop from his hand. "Assume whatever you like!" She scowled at him and continued her cleaning.

Ji Sang stared at her cleaning for a while. "Why don't I help you out? That way, you can get with your work early and I will get to go on a date with you." He deliberately said the word 'date' because he wanted her to remind of what he had asked her for yesterday.

As Yeon Ah turned around to speak, Ji Sang interrupted her and spoke again "You ran away yesterday. I won't let you do so today."

Yeon Ah again rolled her eyes and walked to the counter. She had to tally some bills so, when she was doing so, she felt the presence of someone by her side.

Yeon Ah looked at Ji Sang with a frown and Ji Sang gave a boyish smile.

"Shouldn't you ask your customers for their order?"

"No! The café is closed. The customer came at a wrong time." Yeon Ah nonchalantly replied and focused on doing the bills. But it was getting hard for her to do so because she felt some eyes on her for quite a long time.

She slammed the bills on the table and faced Park Ji Sang. "What are you doing?" She yelled.

Ji Sang rubbed his chin and pretended to think for a while. "Of course, I am looking at the woman with whom I will be dating." He gave another adorable smile and flashed all his white teeth in front of her.

Yeon Ah scoffed at his stupid reply. "If you want to go on a date, just go and sit there like an obedient boy." She pointed at the chair nearby the window.

Seeing Ji Sang walking away, she sighed and began to continue her work.

When she was done, she looked at the place where he had sat thinking that he had gone but her mouth was opened wide when she saw the beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hand.

Park Ji Sang gave a smile and stood up. He approached her holding the bouquet in his hand. Placing the bouquet in front of her, he said "This is for you! Beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman."

Ji Sang's eyes shone brightly with happiness. He had always wanted to give her flowers and say wonderful, nice words. But because of their friendship, he was never able to do so. Now that, there was no friendship in between them, he just wanted to do all that which could make him happy and obviously, her too.

"Great! Thanks." Yeon Ah took the bouquet from him and began arranging them in the café.

"Won't you be taking them with you?" Ji Sang who saw what she was doing asked being curious. Upon noticing that she took the bouquet, he was really happy but when he saw her arranging the bouquet in one of the vases inside the café, he couldn't understand why she was doing that at all.

Yeon Ah shook her head. "No." She placed the flowers in the vase and continued "There is no need for me to take these flowers home."

"Why? You do not like flowers?" There was a feeling of dejectedness in his voice.

Yeon Ah gave a long sigh. However, she ignored him and walked to the dressing room. Removing her apron, folding it and keeping inside the locker, she took out her bag and closed the locker.

"Shall we go?"

Yeon Ah grunted upon hearing his words and gave an angry glare.

When she heard footsteps behind her, she abruptly stopped and turned around. Ji Sang also stopped right in his tracks and looked at her with a cute smile on his face.

"I didn't know you were this clingy..."

"You never noticed how clingy I was, Yeon Ah." Ji Sang gave another attractive smile and continued "Shall we go then?"

Yeon Ah sighed. She looked at the time in her phone and just as she was looking, she saw many missed calls from her mother. She furrowed her brows and immediately called her mother.

"Who are you calling?" Ji Sang saw the worried look on her face. "Did something happen?"

"Mom called. My phone was on silent, I didn't know she called me."

Few rings after, her mother picked up her call and Yeon Ah asked being worried "Mom, is everything alright? I'm sorry. The phone was on silent." From the other end of the line, a weak voice was heard "Your Dad is in the hospital. Come quickly!"

Just as Yeon Ah heard that, she felt her world tearing apart. Her father, after he got to know about Yeon Ah's news at the university, he was not in a good health. The doctors had told that if her father was to stress more, then it might be difficult for his heart.

So, when her parents had told her to leave, she quietly left the house in order to keep her father safe. But this call... she wondered why her father had an attack now... when she was already out of his sight for years.

"W...What's wrong, Yeon Ah?" Ji Sang immediately caught Yeon Ah in his arms who was going to fall down any minute.

Shaking her a little, he saw her opening her eyes.

"Are you alright, Yeon Ah?" He asked holding her by her waist and looking down at her face which had lost its color.

"Dad is in the hospital. Can you take me there, please?"
