Expectations and Flashbacks

Jung Sang Hoon brought Ah-Yeong back home. He didn't like watching her cry so, he didn't walk inside with her. At this time, he thought it was better to not show his face to her otherwise he would be reminded of his hasty mistake again and again.

Meanwhile, Ah-Yeong didn't realize when she slept. When she woke up it was already time for her to get ready and leave for work.

She got dressed and walked out of her room hoping to see Sang Hoon. She realized that her actions were stupid, literally stupid and she wanted to apologize for that.

But when she didn't see him at home, she became hurt.

Being with Jung Sang Hoon for two months made her realize how simple and boring life can be if you are to deny something. She had expected Sang Hoon to come over and ask her the reason and maybe some way or the other, she would have opened up to him about her past, about her feelings for her ex but those were all just expectations not reality.

Ah-Yeong took an egg in her hand. The only thing which she knew how to cook was to make an omelet or cup noodles. She was not at all good at cooking.

These two months, she survived somehow by eating omelets and fast food but she was getting fed up of eating the same thing again and again.

And in these two months, Sang Hoon never cooked for her. Forget about cooking, they hadn't spent enough time together so that they would cook for one another or something.

Well, even if, Sang Hoon was to do something for her, she would just shove him away just like how she did yesterday.

"Such a bad life I have!" She muttered and placed the egg where it was. She no longer felt hungry and she just wished that she could leave this house as early as possible. This huge house was eating her and she didn't want to be lonely.

Ah-Yeong remembered the time when she and Dae-Hyun used to stay together and eat together.

*FLASHBACK*

"Where is my breakfast, Ah-Yeong?" Dae-Hyun walked inside the kitchen with a sleepy look on his face. He rubbed his eyes and dragged himself inside the kitchen only to see Ah-Yeong crying.

"Hey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" His drowsiness vanished as he noticed Ah-Yeong crying and he walked closer to her and examined her. Seeing him close enough, Ah-Yeong pulled him into a tight embrace and muttered in a cracked voice "I don't know how to cook."

"You dummy!" Dae-Hyun pushed her till shoulder's length and looked at her. He flicked her forehead and hugged her.

"So, will you cry if you don't know how to cook? Idiot!" He lightly slapped her back and wiped her tears. "I don't want my woman to cry. So, sit here and I will prepare something to eat." Saying this, he kissed on her forehead and began to prepare food.

As Ah-Yeong saw him cooking like a chef, she smiled and hugged him from behind.

"Don't ever leave me and go." She softly whispered to him.

"I won't." Dae-Hyun turned around, kissed her on her lips and caressed her soft hair.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

"You are a liar. You said you won't leave me but you left me all alone."

Before Ah-Yeong could realize, warm tears were already escaping through the corner of her eyes. She walked to her room, closed the door behind her and cried.

There was no one in this empty house so, crying loudly wouldn't have been a matter for her.

****

It was already five in the evening when Ah-Yeong woke up. She walked out of her room and her surroundings were just the same. Empty with no person in sight.

She sighed and dragged herself to the kitchen. She had no choice now. She was hungry like anything and she had to eat something. She opened the fridge to search for something but she was surprised to see various lunch boxes inside the fridge.

She took one lunch box and examined it for a while. Why she was examining was because she hadn't gone out today or day before yesterday to get groceries or something. Thinking that Sang Hoon might have bought it, she quickly began eating.

Ahh! What a savoury. It had been so long since she ate something like this. Gosh! Why did she not think of buying ready to go meals from outside. She was dumb to have been only buying cup noodles or snacks.

Ah-Yeong quickly took out her phone to text Sang Hoon but before that, she received a call from her mother. She instantly picked up while stuffing herself with another bite of her rice roll.

"Hello, Mom!"

"Did you check your fridge? I told son-in-law to place all those things inside the fridge."

When Ah-Yeong heard her mother's words, she opened her fridge again and noticed the various kinds of food kept inside. Those were not from the convenience store but were handmade by her mother.

"Son-in-law told me that he would be very busy this time of the month so, I got various things prepared which would last for a few days. So, eat them and come to my house if you want more."

Ah-Yeong said her thanks and hung up the phone. The lunch box which she was having was very tasty. No wonder it was because her mother had made it.

Eating her fill, she placed the box inside the fridge and walked back to her room.

Since, her mother said that Sang Hoon would be very busy, it meant that he would not be coming home. She wondered if it was because of what happened yesterday or was he actually busy with work.
